I really like when players fight to the end of the game. Axelsen has had many situations in which he stopped the fight in recent matches. This game shows the new Viktor Axelsen, who improved his endurance and strengthened his mental strength. I hope he will win this tournament.

If the shuttle passed the net and LZJ over-swung with his racket-head passing the net on the follow through, would his shot be disqualified?

I'll congratulate the umpire on that final net call as well. We destroy these umpires when they call it wrong on that shot, so I have to say something when they do get it right. And it was a very very tough call. If I hadn't seen the replay, I'd probably be on LZJ's side, since it was a stunningly open shot. Only problem was it floated on Axelson's side far longer than anticipated with the shuttle facing away and LZJ was already in the air so he couldn't afford to wait without ruining his swing...
Indeed so hard call. The ball was in the middle of the net upon racket impact. Like if you pause it and take a ruler, it really is in the middle. If he didnt hit it, it would have landed on the net and may or may not cross to his side. But sticking to the rule where it says you can only hit the bird once it crosses your side of the court, the call is right. The rule didnt say halfway through the court is permissible.

It is quite clear that Lee's skill is at least at par with Axelsen if not higher. The drift had caused some mistakes on Lee's part.
In spirit Lee had nail Axelsen and won this All England title.

LZJ applied the wrong tactics towards the closure of the final set.Should have attacked instead of playing defensive hoping Axelsen make mistakes.

This should have been the finals! CTC was too passive during the finals. Altho to be fair, Viktor seemed in control of the entire match. His defense was impeccable that match. Must have been frustrating for CTC.

Lovely match btw the 2. Axelson has long reach thus having a better defense and he uses his h8 for producing extra steep smashes which r got from net exchanges. On the other hand, LZJ is a young strong stud which is more psychically chllg than Axelson.
To be fair, that 19-19 net shot from zi jia is absolutely fault. His racket was far beyond the net while the bird not passed yet. But he's done very good.
Alit Karnajaya i don’t think it is a fault. the rule is when you hit the shuttle whether the racket is over the net. from replay the shuttle has already passed the net so he hit it at the right timing.

de activated indeed i watched it at 0.5x still the shuttle seems passed to me. it doesn’t matter whether racket pass or not.
