It's the end of 2023 and I figured we would go out in style with a huge futuristic (slightly stupid) strike against Iran. The US bring B-21 Raider, B-1R, SR-72, FA-XX NGAD, F-22 Raptor, F-35 Lighting and a selection of 4th gen aircraft against pretty much the whole of Iran. Enjoy!

since fuel has always been an issue in all the missions especially with the 5th gen aircraft not having enough fuel due to increased RCS if they carry external tanks, I was wondering if you would be able to simulate the airforces new low drag and pylon program slated for the f22 upgrade and how that would affect the navy especially in the pacific theatre. thanks. love your content
The B1R reminds me of Dale Brown's B1C Excalibur in the "Flight of the Old Dog" sequel novels. It would have been SUCH a badass low level penetration strike bomber with standoff defenses that it's downright painful the B1R never happened.

Now I’m curious, since you said the your simulated F-35 is starting to outperform the F-22 would you be able to put them against each other so we can see how much each has changed/hasn’t changed.
The problem I've got is that the golden rule of youtube is that you are not allowed to show the F-22 lose a battle, ever. I've lost thousands of subscribers through non-scripted dogfight videos where F-22 loses. No longer willing to do it TBH.

I think a better explanation for why the satellites didn't pick up the test site would be to have three separate test sites and then have one of them randomly be generated to be THE target and "found" 10 minutes into the mission

The SR-72s are carrying the improved version of the ASAT missiles first tested on the F-15s.😂😂 You know I was thinking about how the B-52 used to have a tail gunner, or radar guided tail gun. Could you imagine if the B-oneR had a directed energy "Laser" tail gun?

Satellites cant be used because the tech needed to see deep enough into the mountains are ground penetrating radar, and since rock is so dense, you have to be much closer than a satellite can go - square-cube law with radio wave amplitude.

Actually the B-21 is already being deployed to air force bases right now. My brother is an airman at Whitemans Air Force base in Missouri, and they are already planning to faze out the B-2 this year. 2024

re. Blocking satellite reconissance
Dazzling (or permenantly blinding) photoreconissance spy satellites with lasers is reportedly under active development by certain countries (and has been hypothesised in fiction since the '80s). That should provide a realistic reason for no satellite reconissance in the mission roleplay.

Epic battle, Cap! Looking forward to Part 2. One thing to note though that according to Alex Hollings' excellent research on the Sr-72, it was always meant to be able to be able to carry weapons. But then again, that would make for a boring video wouldnt it?
Fair comment. We have so many other cool weapons platforms (B-21/B-1R/NGAD etc) that I thought it would be fun to keep the SR-72 as purely a spy plane like the SR-71.

There was once a battle with Iran and U.S. when the Iranians planted a bunch of mines in the sea and a U.S. Destroyer got hit by it. As a "proportional response" U.S. destroyed half of their Navy in 24 hours.

Enjoyed the vid, the only minor issue i have and have had, is that realistically this raid would have been done in the dark of night (2am-4am), however i do understand that this would have been no fun for the players and you audience. So, please take my observation with maybe a grain of salt. 😂

I actually love night missions, and I agree most Western missions would be at night. But yes obviously would cause problems for video/viewers.

You're right Cap that if you made these war scenarios ultra realistic is would be very boring. Especially since most countries aren't willing to put up their fighters to oppose an American led attack since they know most will get shot down. So it's basically the American led attack going against enemy SAMs. And most of those would either be taken out by TLAMs, JASSMs, HARMS, ect or be rendered almost useless by jamming and stealth aircraft.
I have done a few ones before that I consider pretty realistic, and they get almost no YT views and most people said they are boring.

IRL I would think NGADs would be good dogfighters if they have AIM-9X because they could see and shoot in all directions at once *don't KNOW if Peregrines have the same targeting capability - shrug - they probably do.
no vertical stabilisers. you can't change the laws of physics. obviously they will dogfight a lot worse. which is irrelevant because they weren't design for that role and won't do it. other aircraft will also have the AIM-9X. AIM-9X is a missile not an airplane. saying it will be a good dogfight because of it it makes no sense.
@@riskinhosI don't think the U.S. is willing to build a fighter that can't fight within visual range IF it needs to. So I'm not willing to say NGAD won't be a good dogfighter.
I'm thinking it will probably have some sort of area denial weapons system that can fire in all directions. Maybe lasers, or even sonic weapons. A plane doesn't have to maneuver to dogfight you if it has onboard weapon systems that can swivel 360° and blow you out of the sky at any aspect.
yes the Peregrines are high off bore sight. They are not as maneuverable as the aim-9 but close. The NGAD dogfight characteristics change quite a bit with fuel level. Because it carries such a large amount internally. It becomes a very good dogfighter at low fuel.
NGAD really has to do things poorly to end up in a dogfight. The problem is that it is so powerful it can nearly beat its missiles to the target if you dont turn cold.

Satellites: The Iranians are believed to be have gotten anti-satellite missiles from Russia/China. To protect from this potential threat, intelligence sats over Iran have been moved to a different orbit and less critical assets have been used to gather intelligence/reconnaissance.
Maybe the tunnels dug are so deep and extensive that satellite based ground penetrating radar cant see them.
Russia and China's help?
I thought they have their own, because they sent satellites to space, so they can probably shoot some down too using similar tech.

Assuming that each missile is fired at a different target
in reality the Isfahan nuclear enrichment facility is hundreds of meters underground making it invulnerable to almost any conventional munition. Those B2s would have to fly in with specialised bunker busting nuclear gravity bombs each weighing 10 tons. meaning they'd have to get within visual range of the target to hit it. That would have made this a challenge.
If they decide to use a nuke they'd probably drop a couple B61-11's from B-2/21's, these weigh about 1200 lbs. They probably can be GPS guided so could be launched from a little ways off.
Actually that's a great idea for a follow up. GBU down a vent shaft?
@@myke5696 a surface detonation won't cut it, it'd have to be a penetrating detonation. And thats assuming you got the underground coordinate correct. Missing by a few dozen meters would make it more or less ineffective.

Bro the main point of DCS is FLIGHT ✈️🛫 (FLYING AIRCRAFT) So yeah in a REAL LIFE situation or IF they were trying to be realistic they would have used some type of cruise missile or other air to ground munition...but this AIN'T real life and they AIN'T trying to be realistic. Also NOBODY wants to watch a video with them JUST shooting some cruise missiles. The whole video would only be like 10 minutes or less. And LAME. 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️👎🏾 JUST. LIKE. 🫵🏾 YOU 🫵🏾 🤡🤡

Riskinhos make a good point. Cruise missiles have neither the guidance systems nor kinematics necessary to intercept fighter jets. And how on earth could the ships be delivered to target? They weigh tens of thousands of tons! Any launch or propulsion system that could handle that kind of weight is many, many decades away.

The optical and infrared satellite can be "easily" blind with a big enough laser, the concept have been tested I think in USSR and probably china as the orbit of a satellite can be predicted and followed easily with a big enough radar, the laser part is tricky as it would need a lot of power but as it's ground base and not unlikely possible. whats left are radar satellite but they probably lack the definition for confirming the objectives is real

5:26 A few weeks ago Russia used some sort of radar interference system to prevent satellite imaging of Crimea, presumably for some specific type of radar system or frequency. I can't find the video now but it looked like someone had scratched up the image with a fork.
Friggen solar storm! Thankfully our Ionosphere kept us from being irradiated down here on Earth, but they sure did wreak hell on satellite communications....

I'd be far more concerned about Iranian Saqr 358 Loitering AAMs which are basically AIM9s crossed with a lancet drone.
They're so small and cheap they could create an airborne minefield where if any plane flies through it, they run the risk of being snapshotted by a Hob.

F-35’s, NGAD, B-21 and B-1, I don’t think Iran would be able to shoot down stealth fighters or bombers, the bone might get shot down.

I doubt that Iran would even know the US is coming until the attack happens. From that point the fight is already over and there is chaos in the air

I think giving iran anything other than an average skill level is giving them too much credit. Also you could reasonably assume that anything they have would only be at about 50 health to start with.

No way the US would attack them with this little of an airforce especially to stop a nuclear program. They would have F18’s from a carrier strike group and probably over 100 F15’s for air to air. Also tons more F16’s and probably some B52’s for decoy saturation.
