I have a laptop on wich i assigned 3.5GB of ram to minecraft, the processor died way before that amount of ram was filled (i filled ~1GB with a L4 chest placed)

Even if a piece of information was stored on one atom, we can only store 10^87 or so pieces of information. Even if one gold block took one 'qubit' of information on a Quantum computer, it would be impossible to fit 10^100 pieces of information on 10^87 atoms. So, the chest doesn't have a Googol blocks, but 'information' to 'produce' More Gold blocks when opened or destroyed.
Therefore technically, we can stuff infinite stuff into a chest with a loop of information that instructs the computer to produce things at the instant one opens/breaks them.

There is something more dense and with more weight in Minecraft. The original Enchanted Golden Apples that were made with 8 gold blocks. Imagine 50 layers of them. You'd probably have more mass than the most dense black hole in the universe

Technically there is *WAY* more items, you can multiply them by 18, because 9 gold ingots come from 1 gold block, and 9 gold nuggets come from gold ingot. So the numbers there seem crazy, but if all crafted are *CRAZIER!!*

I=amount of Gold Ingots in L50

L50=somewhere in the googols.
Calculator=needs to have in excess of a hundred digits just to find the amount of Ingots in L50.

How does the game even store the data for 2.8 * 10^101 gold blocks in your memory/storage? There must be some type of data compression or something, because your game would hard crash after like 10 of those boxes loaded in under normal circumstances.
1728^4 gold blocks would take up approximately 4151 GiB of space assuming each stack uses up 32 bytes of space...
That's not even counting the space the chests take up.
I think the game stores it in memory constantly compressed.

I was wondering that myself. Seems like it shouldn't work since there aren't enough atoms in the universe. Btyes of data still take up a certain amount of physical space on a hardrive, and since you would need a harddrive bigger than the universe to have that many bytes, there must be some sort of data compression.

This is such a sick video, I love it because it’s so fascinating. trying to imagine this stuff is impossible and boggles my mind, which is why I love it.
May I bring up that with the gold blocks that it is also a a gold ingot (9) and a gold nugget (9) so really one gold block is 3 or I believe more but I can't do the math currently
Edit: to make one gold ingot you need nine gold nuggets, so to make a gold block you need 81 gold nuggets, so in that one gold block you have 81 gold nuggets. Use that as measurement and you get an even bigger amount...
Edit 2: okay just figured this out: putting the chests in chests and so on in shulkerboxes then how many could you get then? Just a thought

In our world we have gravity which pulls things towards the center of mass, but minecraft only has like 100 some blocks before you reach the bottom, while the rest of the world extends for more than 30 million blocks.... boi.... that isn't the same as "falling" do to the acceleration caused by gravity towards the center of mass, especially since there's also the end which has nothing other than floating islands, and the void which i suppose could be like a black hole????? So that could be the graivty??? idk.... Plus sand would not fall like a big block stuck the whole time. So no it isn't *_REAL_* physics cause the physics in the game aren't *_REAL_* physics. In minecraft you just accelerate in the negative y direction of a 3 dimensional plane cause the game is oriented "y axis up" regardless of what objects would or should affect which direction up really is. *like the gold chest in this video that literally would be a black hole* yet a block of sand would still fall "down" from the game's normally oriented plane.... Not towards where it should *the chest with over a googol of gold blocks."

this is why minecraft is the best game, you can not only make any other game in it, more or less, but you can do things like this and create something that in real life would litterally be bigger than the entire universe, quadrillions of times over.
