Part of minecrafts appeal is that its constantly changing. If it stayed at v1.0 then it woulda been old news ages ago by now. Updates keep it fresh and keep older players involved while drawing in new ones at the same time.

They're probably just slowly replacing all references to floats to doubles. Since all of these are just floating point rounding errors.
It fixes bugs like this at the cost of marginally increasing the amount of ram Minecraft consumes
In case anyone is wondering about some of these things, most (if not all) of these errors are likely caused by floating point precision errors. This is essentially happens when a float (or non-whole number) runs out of space to store necessary precision. For example, a block may need to store an interior texture at 178204.25 on the X, but there are a maximum of 7 characters, so it's instead stored at 178204.3. This normally doesn't happen with full blocks because they can be stored entirely without the use of floats, but for things like pistons or cauldrons that have more complex models, this would explain the odd behavior.

I find these bugs to be so cool, they're like the literal reality and the laws of physics becoming more and more unrecognisable when you're gargantuan distances away from your usual place. These could very well be promoted to features.
Just leave all of them, I love every single one of them. I want to play a farlands survival with all of these.

These issues are simply precision errors from converting between float and double. Newer compilers will give a warning about significant digits loss. I'd bet they updated to a new version of the compiler and now get a gazillion of these warning. Microsoft has a policy (rightly so for security) to not have any warnings when compiling. So any time someone works on a bit of code they have to fix it. Moving the precision error down the road to the next bit of code that they didn't work on. So, you'll likely see these thing change over time and get better until they pull the plug and start a project to correct all the remaining warnings.

Ant, it's not possible for them to remove minecraft's world border. Data has to go somewhere, the largest numerical data type in java (without extra modifications) is the double, which is already an ultra-precise datatype which most developers use. At a certain point, these data types can no longer be accurate, henceforth the strange behavior or the position clumping. Creating data which takes up lots of space when the average user won't even use half of it is very inefficient and commonly discouraged in programming. It simply isn't possible to remove the world border entirely, because all the positional data has to go somewhere, and at some point, there will be a number limit.

Personally, I miss all of the cool distance glitches. It makes it worth it to go out to large distances. My old favorite was the way end portals used to render tens of millions of blocks out.
Watching Antvenom nowadays is such a stark contrast to his old self. I remember when he would play hunger games, when he went through all three or four ant farms. I remember playing them as well. I remember when he would play with CaptainSparklez, Jerome, Bash, Sky and all of them. I remember the antvenom peaceful world he would sometimes play around with. How much he’s used to complain about cows mooing. Taylor, if you see this, just know you’re doing a great job. I’ve been a subscriber since I was in 3-4 grade, I’m a senior in high school now. I found a glitch that's still in Minecraft. First if you size your window really weirdly (like really long and really short) and craft wood planks in your inventory crafting table itll crash. Also if you open the top of a sea temple (I forgot what it's called, but it has all those guardians) and trap an elder guardian in there, it'll completely deform. This will only work with a 1x1 hole

8:00 I vaguely remember this happening in pocket edition back in the day a good amount. Regardless of world border it would just sort of happen and if there was a block nearby the camera would just lodge itself into it.

Another one, in certain locations millions of blocks out, gravity blocks wouldn't fall. Anvils, Sand, etc, didn't happen on every block but it happened often.

Minecraft console is so broken. The character creator won’t load sometimes, it always has a “Temporary network problem” whenever you load into the main menu, it lags and freezes a lot in game, and the game just crashes sometimes.

Dude, only 'infinite' terrain games have these bugs. 'infinite' space games have the luxury of rounding the errors in literal space, and everything that needs to be drawn in detail can just be done relative to the planets.

If anyone would like to know what causes these bugs, and why they only happen so far out, its due to something called a floating point number. This is basically any number with a decimal point. (Ex 24.5).
The larger a floating point value gets, the mote precision it looses. This means that when the integer value of the floating point (the 24 in 24.5) is low, there are a lot of decimal spaces. As that number goes up, you start to loose those decimal places. (Ex. The value 39.97283, might allow for those 5 decimal places, while the value 96356.76 might only allow for those two decimal spaces.)
This means that there is no longer enough precision to smoothly or correctly place or animate(especially animate) something in the world.
There are many ways to fix this issue, one would be to scroll the world rather than the player, which would mean that the position never actually gets to a high number, but this is really slow and inefficient.

I think a lot of these glitches and bugs appear due float point errors.
When numbers and coordinates get too large there are not enough bits left over for the decimals in that number causing rounding and precision errors.
If numbers had twice as much memory to be stored (let's say 32 bit becomes 64 bit, etc) then much larger numbers would be required for float point errors to occur and you could have bigger stable Minecraft worlds.
But this would also make the game slower and more memory hungry obviously and it would be very impractical.
Doesn't matter in what language you program a game, float point errors are just unavoidable. Java has them, C#, C++, Python, almost any language has these errors, you can't fix them but you can handle them properly.

Real Minecraft veterans remember the visual bug where stone became a random ore, this happened around 1.6.4
I found a bug awhile back on I think beta 1.9 on xbox 360. I was messing arounf and created a solid piston head block. Kinda cool.
