  • What’s going on guys. I’m going to show you guys how to remove and replace the diff oil on your JLB Cheetah. This process is the same for both gen1 and gen1 Cheetah. I’m using 30k in the front and 50k in the rear. Make sure to stay tune for the testing of this truck with the new diff fluid. Like, Subscribe, Stay Safe, and Cheers.

    I recently changed the diff oil in the front of my Jlb cheetah 11101, at first I packed it with grease, but it was extremely difficult to turn, so then I replaced it with 10W30 oil just to see if it would work. Turned very easily but unfortunately it is now beginning to leak out, so I'll have to get a better gasket. The next time I re & re, I'll go with the heavier oil, too.

      Yeah I’ve tried motor oil before and they always leak when it gets warm or hot. I’ve even tried cooking oil like vegetable and canola oil, still leaks when warm or hot. So far, what I find that works and efficient is the oil made for rc shocks which is 100% silicone oil. 👍

    Little late to the party but great videos! Do you use the 50k diff fluid for the front diff too? Also, can you make a video on where to plug in a heatsink on the 3670 brushless motor?

    • @ItsRCTeng
      @ItsRCTeng  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I use 50k in the rear and 30k in the front. For the heat sink, you would have to take the motor out in order to slide the heat sink over into the motor.

    Nice! I ordered 10k,30k and 50k right now.
    Can you pls make a video of driving the 21101 with the new diff setup??
    Love the JLB

    How did you put the wheels on?i have the too,but dont fit, the ste from dhk maximus or 8ezombie...how did you make them fiz...cut all the inside?

    • @ItsRCTeng
      @ItsRCTeng  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the 17mm hex is not long enough for the DHK tires. The nut on the wheels is only threaded half way. That’s the furthest it’ll go and I use blue loctite since it only screw on a few threads.

    Great video brotha. It will help alot of people. Even when I know I can fiqure out something on my own I always try to watch a video to give me a idea of what to do. I am hearing a little clicking noise on my cheetah so I think I need to replace the front diff soon. Also Teng go on Amazon and grab a set of hand hex drivers to get rid of the Allen wrenches. Its much easier! Also you should get a little hand held power driver and bits. If you need a good, cheap set up I can link you what to get on Instagram. If you're interested

      @@ItsRCTeng Yeah bro Amazon has some cheap sets, also that power driver i got is the skil brand one, its only like 25$ and all you need is some 1/4 inch drive hex driver set to fit. Yeah it makes a big difference.

    So my 21011 back wheels not spinning, only the two front wheels 😳 do I have to do this for it spin again or could it be something else ?

    • @ItsRCTeng
      @ItsRCTeng  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Take the rear diff out and inspect it. It could be a small pin that hold the axle cup into the diff. The pin might be broken. Also check to see if the axle pin at the wheels are still in place because that can fall out out too.

    Great video, thank you! How do you select which oil to use (50k vs 100k)? I have a 100k and I'm wondering whether I should get the 50k instead

    • @ItsRCTeng
      @ItsRCTeng  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s all up to you. If you like to drift you can use thicker oil in rear and lighter in the front. If you Race, you can use lighter oil for the front and rear.

    • @ItsRCTeng
      @ItsRCTeng  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stock oil is about 25k-30k. I use thicker oil to reduce slipping in the diffs so it can slide and drift in corners on dirt and loose gravel. On cement or street I would use lighter oil like 25-30k to keep the car from drifting so it can take the corners with less drift. It’s kind of like open diff for onroad and closed/locked Diff for off road.

      He probably meant 1000 cst which is like 70-80k wt. both my JLB the gen1 and gen2 do t even feel stiff like 1000 when I first got the trucks. My aftermarket oil feels stiffer then their stock oil and it’s not even close to 1000wt. I suggest buying some better oil from the hobby store and use that instead of the cheap oil the manufacture uses.

    • @ItsRCTeng
      @ItsRCTeng  ปีที่แล้ว

      No my problem was the weak pressure plate being broken from tightening the slipper clutch. Once I put on a new washer such as the bearing shield I used, it stop slipping and now it runs real good even doing wheelies sometime.

  • @gourobkundu2173

    Bro. Could you please recommend me a shock oil of a suitable weight to put in the shocks. The stock spings are just too hard,and i cannot find softer springs. So i am left with the option of tuining with the oil only, as the shocks feel a lot bouncy. I will use the stock spings on my jlb 21101. Please tell me which weight to use. Thank you. BTW ur content is just awesome. I really enjoy it. Love from India.

    • @cwatson42785
      @cwatson42785 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I recommend 50-70 weight for sure 👍 But also see what Teng says. I agree as it is stock its too bouncy.

    • @ItsRCTeng
      @ItsRCTeng  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I would recommend what Chris says. With a stiff spring like the JLB, you want a thicker oil to slow down the rebound of the spring. It’s good that it’s stiff so that it takes any hard impact but thicker oil should stop it from being too bouncy when the spring rebound back into its full length. So yeah, if you can get 70w or even 80w that would be good for such a stiff spring 👍

    • @gourobkundu2173

    Is it ok to put motorcycle grease? A lithium ion grease from TOP1?

    • @ItsRCTeng
      @ItsRCTeng  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t know and wouldn’t recommend it. It’s up to you if you want to try it out. I’ve tried regular auto grease and it worked fine. The diffs are cheap to buy and replace so yeah.

    I just put some diff oil on my jlb cheetah but i noticed that when I'm spinning the diff it doesn't rotate easily, it's like there is some resistance inside, is it normal?

    • @ItsRCTeng
      @ItsRCTeng  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It all depends on the thickness of the oil. On average I use 35 all the up to 50wt. Thicker the oil the more resistance in the diff.
