    Great maintenance video, I would definitely like to see more videos like this for those who own the cheetah's, and for other vehicles. Tips and tricks are always helpful. Maybe a comfortable coating of the electronics on the cheetah since so many have a problem with the waterproofing. Keep up the good work Steve.

    Quality vid! I’m off to check out your others now.
    I bought an E8MTL (never RC’d before) and during my 1st minute I bounced it off someone’s car then got it wedged under another 😩 I bought it 2yrs ago and used it for about 20mins! Just got it back after 4 months and the front CVD snapped. I’ve spent hours looking for a video exactly like this so I can sort it myself. Just hoping you done loads more cos I’m a complete nugget at the moment! 👍🏻👍🏻

    great video! i am working on my cheetah aswell, and when i put all of it together, there seems to be too much friction on the complete drivetrain. the wheels are not spinning freely. what could cause that? I don't want to break anything, the motor has to work way to much.

    A guy from the Forum told me a trick:
    Turn the pivotballs farer out so the dogbone does not sit in the center of the diff-cup but rather on the outer end - and here is why.
    The shafts are too long and when you compress the suspension it hits the inside of the drive-cups and then they bend.
    I checked if tht is true and my driveshaft really did it....although it was already bent like banana (means it was already shorter in length). This might be also connected to the broken drive-cup.

    Great video! I took my 11101 cheetah out and first day broke both dogbones on the right side, and I wasn't even driving that hard. Pins came out and ruin the dogbones. I was bummed that I got 10 mins of driving, and it was then undriveable. Is that normal, or was I just super unlucky? Do you find parts break on them alot? The only place the I can really find the parts is banggood, but it takes forever for the parts to arrive.

    Hi mate, what fluid do you use for the rear and front differential?

  • @InTheSh8
    @InTheSh8 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Imo it's good that the pinion is not as hard as the spur. If they'd both have same hardness you'd have other components damaged in that drivetrain. In my Sabertooth I always had the opposite. Motor came a bit loose and that sucker punch hardened steel pinion gear completely shattered the spur, LOL. So, I'd always have to take the centre diff out completely to swap the spur against a new one.

    After rerouting my antenna through the roof of my Jlb 11101, I unfortunately flipped it and it skidded across the asphalt ripping approx 1 plus inches off the end of the antenna. Soldered on another piece (5") and tried it today. Ran out of range after 60/70 feet. What's up with that?

    I drove my JLB j3speed for about an hour on flat grass and sand and suddenly made a funny grinding noise when I give it max throttle, took it apart and see the Beleve drive 11T in the back box stripped the top of the teeth. Bit disappointed though, I mean 1 hour of driving up and down on flat surface. Have to wait 2 months for parts.

  • @miningwayne935
    @miningwayne935 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Enjoyed the vid but the outer grub screw is not only to retain the ball, but also to adjust the backlash in the hub assembly! There was probably nothing wrong with the hub you changed out...just needed the outer grub screw nipping up slightly to reduce the in and out slop in the hub...being careful of course to maintain just enough clearance so the ball does not bind.

    Parts are always a nuisance as it takes so long to receive them (1 month in my case). I dont usually have an issue with broken parts (loose quite a few screws though) on my cars, however, for some reason it's the motors or ESC's that burn out due to the terrain where I bash is very rough (volcanic island!). Nice vid

      I'm guessing battery is fully charged? Also, did u play with the remote control? It has a steering regulator for Servo responsiveness (Bottom left knob on DUMBO remote)
      If wheels still wont turn, sounds like maybe the Servo is wonky.

    • @tufferstaylor3454

      Kirill. Thanks for the reply, I striped all the steering linkage back to the servo, I didn't find any issues, but when I put it all back together again it worked perfectly.
      It's a mystery, but it's working.

    I have the 120ap Cheetah and I was wondering if you have done anything with the shocks on yours? Mine bounces a lot and someone suggested changing the oil in the shocks wondered if you have done that or if yours had any bounce issues?

    • @RCTanksTrucks247
      @RCTanksTrucks247  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure but it is not hard. Generally the same for all cars. Removal of the suspension pin and it should be straight forward.

      How do u take the pin out? Is it as simple as just prising it out? Don't want to damage it.

      A little is ok but if it is loud and the car does not roll smoothly then no, you might have a stripped gear somewhere.
