Wow wow wow wow wow!!! Silivas is the very last gymnast Romania produced that had complete control of not only her tumbling, but her dance as well. This routine highlights her mastery of the sport of artistic gymnastics. We all know there were plenty of strong tumblers after her from Romania, but no one combined the artistry like she did.
I'll be honest with everyone and myself. I have always felt that no one could touch the Soviets on floor compulsory but I am wrong. This is the most ABSOLUTE perfect compulsory floor routine I have ever seen! It actually moved me and I am now speechless.
Gymnast past 2000 cannot even hold a candle to Daniela. What I really love about her that she brought both strength and artistry to her routines. Unfailingly perfect.
Most beautiful gymnast ever, so artistically superior to any gymnasts that we watch now days, would have spent years perfecting ballet to dance so perfectly as this, so stunning to watch, would love to see more choreograpy like this. Thank you Daniela for giving so much to artistry and just being such a fabulous gymnast to enjoy watching.
I completely agree. It was evident Silivas consistently operated on a different parallel when it came to very basic movement and execution. Which is what compulsories were always about.
She was enjoying this performance. Look at her face at the begining of the first tumbling run, she looked on fire!. Every once in a while I come to see this vid, just to get inspired...
ugh...just reminds me again why she is my favorite gymnasts. i love and appreciate bogi as we, just watched it before this, but bogi just seemed like she was slightly rushing through her routine. silivas just seemed like she had all the time in the world to express and execute every single piece of choreography. perfect
@@ramram70 It is honestly hard to compare fairly since the 96 compulsory routine is a WAY harder routine. I agree this was far more perfect and magnificiently performed, but it is also a much easier routine, I doubt even Silivas could do this well with the much more complex 96 compulsory routine.
As a casual watcher, usually I don't find compulsory routines as interesting to watch, but Daniela just makes everything so beautiful & is just perfection! Her dance elements are just so beautiful but she can do the difficult acrobatics as well. I don't even think she really had a weak event, medaling in all 4 EFs.
She definitely had a weaker event, vault but it still was good enough for bronze (but she would have had 4th place if Shusanova landed her double twist)
Mi Favorita de todos los tiempos ,presición perfecta con la música y gestos que hacen una maravilla y sus compañeras de equipo sonriendo a las no poder .
Beautifully danced and performed by Daniela truly one of my favorite gymnasts and one of the best of the great gymnastics era that was. However, it lacked true ballet training like Svetlana Boginskaya, you can see in her routine the Bolshoi Ballet at work, just saying.
wow,..., how was the choreographer of this routine?,..,this is ARTISTIC gymnastic,.., no one is better than Silivas for this routine,...,perfect body line, flexibility, rhythm,..., love it.
I remember when the compulsories were discarded, most people were praising jesus, claiming how boring they were, etc. now we see how much we have lost. Little robots working towards injuries...
i think what lost the AA title for her was the step out of the double twisting double somersault she did on the floor exercise in the team final. That deducted a full 10th of a point from her score and she didn't even need to do it as in the AA competition she left the double twist out and still scored a 10. Not sure why her coach permitted her to do it in the team competition.
stpark22 the team final has nothing to do with AA. If I remember correctly, it was vault that was deciding factor between Silivas and Shushunova. Silivas I think had a step on her vault
in those days, there were no new life. All scores from the compulsories and team optionals carried over to the all around finals. New life for Olympic competition started in 1992. The All around title in 1988 was decided by the cumulative total of compulsories and team optionals. Her optional vault made up a small fraction of her total score.
She probably did it because in order to have a move named after you, you have to perform it in world or olympic competion.. She was the first woman to do a double double, therfore its now called a Silivas...She did that move for the name it think , not the score...
But why not do it in the event finals vs. the team finals. With a 10 in compulsories, she and her coach had to be confident that she would make event finals.
stpark22 I'm thinking that since floor was one of the last rotationns, they already knew that they were not going to beat the Soviets but were way ahead of the east Germans, so why no go for it??? That's the only thing I can think of to justify
You are mistaken. The judges did not give Shushunova a 10 for compulsory floor. They only gave a 9.9, which was tied by 2 of her own teammates who had gone earlier in the Soviet lineup than her. I would have given this routine a 10.3, but it still was the only 10 given in compulsory floor, and I believe the only score given to anyone higher than 9.9.
With this compulsory floor, they really had to grade on a curve bc it honestly wouldn't have been fair to judge everyone relative to Silivaș. She was just miles ahead of nearly everyone else.
I think that is the best compulsory floor routine ever performed!
Wow wow wow wow wow!!!

This is the type of performance that if you took a picture at any minute, you would get a beautiful image.
I'll be honest with everyone and myself. I have always felt that no one could touch the Soviets on floor compulsory but I am wrong. This is the most ABSOLUTE perfect compulsory floor routine I have ever seen! It actually moved me and I am now speechless.
To me, the most perfect compulsory routine I've ever seen.
She was on fire! Could you see the expression on face during the routine. Every second of this routine is perfect. My all time favourite performance.
She just FLOATS in the air on that last pass. Magical.
Gymnast past 2000 cannot even hold a candle to Daniela. What I really love about her that she brought both strength and artistry to her routines. Unfailingly perfect.

@QPHashSS77 Basic stupidity of someone with IQ of a pancake. Yes I am talking about you.

that was a masterpiece. amazing. it looks like she wasn't even working that hard and was having fun! one of the best gymnasts IMO
wow, can't we go back to those choreographies? wonderful
Oh just beautiful! SHE PERFORMED IT LIKE A SUPERSTAR!
Many people think this is the best Compulsory FX ever!
It certainly is.
until podkopeva 1996
I agree.. I would rank her 1st, Lilia 2nd.
@@mmoran3 Siliva is much better
@@ramram70 It is honestly hard to compare fairly since the 96 compulsory routine is a WAY harder routine. I agree this was far more perfect and magnificiently performed, but it is also a much easier routine, I doubt even Silivas could do this well with the much more complex 96 compulsory routine.
Just so beautiful. She moves with such joy and energy - it's like she's flying.

I think so too! Super amplitude on everything!
Forever the sublime Silivas! ♥
She just floats in her layout stepouts gorgeous!
A well deserved one at that.
Flawless.
Mi Favorita de todos los tiempos ,presición perfecta con la música y gestos que hacen una maravilla y sus compañeras de equipo sonriendo a las no poder .
Breathtaking routine! It's so sad that the Romanians have regressed so much in artistry since Silivas' time. This routine was absolutely gorgeous.
omg the height she gets in all 3 tumble passes - it is unbelievable. beautiful, just beautiful :)
That ending is glorious! Perfect with the music.
omg that was sooooooooooooo great

Superba!❤ Daniela Silivas ❤ Felicitari !❤ Grande !❤Bravo !❤
Bring back the compulsories!!!!!
wow!!! This routine was especially made for Daniela. Just breathtakingly gorgeous.
wow,..., how was the choreographer of this routine?,..,this is ARTISTIC gymnastic,.., no one is better than Silivas for this routine,...,perfect body line, flexibility, rhythm,..., love it.
Thankx for your post. 've always felt the same way!
A perfect 10!!
That routine flows like water
This is what perfection looks like
I would have given this a 40.00 myself.
Just love this routine to bits.♥
Daniela SIlivas for President!
Bring back the compulsories. Please, please bring back the compulsories. They're the basics from which all great gymnastics is derived...
@QPHashSS77 I wouldn't mind it because it would weed out the gymnasts who can't do basic skills without a wobble!
her timing is just impeccable!
silivas dany w as just perfect every thing i see about her is so graceful !!! french gymnast loves you dany !!!
I love how she two-footed the landing on the dive roll. Very non-Silivas and more Shush. Silivas always performed this FX comp better than Shush.
Woah! She could fly... lol
magic i love her !!! silivas for ever !!!
That was a piece of cake for her
the best compulsary ever . better then 1996 Lydia!
Lilia.
Mesmerising
amazing!!!
Inigualable la gracia, habilidad y arte de Daniela Silivas. Las chicas de hoy son estupendas acróbatas, muy buenas, pero Silivas era mucho más

For the record, this earned a 10.000
this routine looks waaayy too easyy for her!!
I wonder what a judge nowadays would score this. I'd love to see them deduct her...and then the audience would stampede...
@MartinRawwr the music is Troisieme by Andre Gagnon. Figure skater Alexander abt used it as a short program in 1999-2000

So it's body type! All straight pointed legs!

Does anyone know the name of the music?
Mouvements - Andre Gagnon
Any idea of the music?
@gall111993 you know this is compulsories right?
This routine demanded you to dance
all i know is they said carol stabochevski
Who cares about the hairdo with the quality of this routine!
