      Gymnastics fans from around the world want to see complete coverage of Moscow 1980 and Mexico City 1968. In the same way you presented Munich 1972. Please include Vera Caslavska's silent protest on the podium and the scoring delay of Nadia's last routine!

    It's a shame we'll never see again a routine with elegance, rhythm and great artistry as Khrabrova's. Needles to say what a superb routine was Vodenitcharova's... She deserved a medal in the final. The routines from the new generations are just tumbling and no music-dance elements synchronicity. What a delight to watch this great routines again.

    Very nice routines. My personal favorite was the third gymnast, Evelina Raikova. Not only did she have difficult tumbling passes, but she sold that choreography with a sass that you just don’t see nowadays. Her smile at the end of the routine was very genuine as well, not just put on for the judges.

      She had great difficulty for 1988. She had more difficulty than the finals routine of gold medalist Silivas and silver medalist Boginskaya.

      @@darkhawkx8it was really the fight between the U.S and Bulgarians both made mistakes floor and U.S beam. The East Germans should’ve never medaled they did it dirty by doping. But it was probably to sealed the dominance of eastern bloc. The Soviets had a very strong team and Olympics one last glory for their motherland between the Romanians.

      @@julielabelle2907 I really don’t think the East German gymnastics women’s team doped. Other sports yes. But not women’s gymnastics. I do believe, though that Bulgaria or the United States truly deserved the bronze medal.

      Dudeva super artistic & great tumbling

  • @JoaoZamae
    @JoaoZamae ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I imagine with gymnasts like Listunova and Komova have had space in their routine to fully express their artistry on floor.
    Instead of being forced by the code of points to do one element after the other.

  • @gaelgarciabernal2434
    @gaelgarciabernal2434 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    Spectacular tumbling mixed with fascinating dance and choreography! The judges were too severe considering the originality and degree of difficulty in these routines. Diana Dudeva's frustation speaks volumes!
    Everybody knows BULGARIA should have won the team BRONZE MEDAL. They were in the first rotation of compulsories and the next to last for optionals (meaning they received lower scores as the judges exercise "restraint" in their marks).
    The opening Bolero routine was so enthralling and difficult. The out of bounds does not justify the ridiculous 9.600! Ivelina Raykova's Spanish number was better in my opinion than Svetlana Boguinskaya, yet received a subpar score! I wish Diana Dudeva would have unveiled a new routine (it was stellar but still this is the Olympics).

    • @mrparts
      @mrparts ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All the scoring in these years was completely corrupted. Barring a fall, all winners were predetermined by politics in the Federation. For example, the judges gifted a 10.0 to the East Germans to help them up in the medal counts.

    Three gymnasts in a row with Double Layouts...WOW!! And I never liked the fact that only the Top 4 teams after Compulsories got to compete in the final group of the Team Finals. There should have been the Top 6 teams (each team would have 2 byes and sit out two different rotations). I wonder where the scores would have been had Bulgaria been able to compete in the final group. Hm...
    Boriana Stoyanova was scored WAY TOO HIGH considering that she completely messed up her first two tumbling runs.
    And I was so happy that Diana Doudeva won the Bronze medal in the Floor Exercise finals, but SHAME on NBC for not showing her routine during their broadcast. They showed Phoebe Mills' routine...WHOOPIE!!!

    • @gaelgarciabernal2434
      @gaelgarciabernal2434 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can tell Boriana Stoyanova was devastated with her fall. She was poised to make finals and be competitive in the all-around. They deducted the half point for the fall. Her dance and choreography were on point and she stayed on track with her tumbling, so 9.425 was fine. In any case, it was dropped as the lowest score.
      As for Phoebe Mills and her Addams family number - no pathos or Wednesday Addams gloom, she was like a perky cheerleader, sigh!

    • @madtownbbbear
      @madtownbbbear ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gaelgarciabernal2434 You'll see from her routine earlier in 1988 at the European Championships that her middle tumbling run was supposed to continue after the punch front into consecutive back handsprings into a double twist. But she landed that punch front too forward and it interupted her momentum. That in turn caused her to do ad lib choreography. So, 9.425 was too high.

    As a Bulgarian, I'm proud of what this team did. Also, I don't know who the creepy guy in the tank top was who was hugging, touching and picking them up but it was sleazy AF. I guess normal for 1988. And it's a shame they made them wear the big communist coat of arms on their shoulders.
