Just got mine reworked because when I got it 3 month ago I think I over moisturized.
Now am sticking with washing it and putting nothing on for the first 4 days then am going to use some form of moisturizer but for now am keeping it clean and dry

My tattoo artist told me too use antibacterial foamy soap and lubiderm, i cant find gold dial soap so just got what i could find
I have everything u said here plus gloves and second skin new bedding pillows I get 4 Saturday at 2pm few days before feb 2 my 31st birthday I have 3 already so lol I always have my after care way a head of time even got candy for the staff as I arsed them lol 😆
My artist told me not to moisturize/apply cream on the day of getting the tattoo, but to begin doing that from the next day. Why is that? I got my tattoo earlier today and it feels dry after washing it
My tattoo artist is a old head, he tells me he has been tattooing for over 40 years and he learned from elders who have been tattooing for a long time, he told me to leave my cover on for 3 days , but it's on my chest, so I don't know if that makes a difference?

I appreciate your informative videos. Professionally, what's your take on Hustle Butter? Can it be used instead of Aquaphor, Lubriderm or Aveeno?
I've used it myself in the past, but more as an "in the process" of tattooing glide. I always stick to Aquaphor when it comes to aftercare

What is your opinion on using Saniderm as opposed to the traditional method of recovery?
I only use it when clients bring it to me intentionally. I’ve heard too many horror stories on people getting allergic reactions to it and I’m not willing to take that risk

Hi! I prefer Dial Gold antibacterial soap, and lubriderm lotion

Depending on your tattoo artist they would recommend different products such as
1.H2Ocean Ultimate Tattoo Care Kit.
2.Lubriderm Body Lotion
3.Aquaphor Healing Pigment
4.Tattoo Goo

hey josh just got my new ink today ive got cling film wrapped round it..
i heard u say we should only have the cling film round tattoo for 60mins
but i was told to keep it on till tomorrow.. is that okay eitherway
Ideally you want to let your tattoo breathe. If its the saniderm clear film then that itself has different instructions. Your tattoo artist should've went over the specific aftercare instructions for what they put on your skin. All in all, your best aftercare is to keep it clean at all times :)
Is it ok to use Johnson Baby Frangnanc oil on new tattoo
No I would not suggest that. Use non fragranced lotion like Lubriderm or Aveeno
So I work outdoor everyday, and I don't know how I can prevent it from the sunlight after I got my tattoo?
Should I just put on some sunscreen or wear loose white long sleeve? Any suggestions? Thank you :)

Why does lotion have to be unscented? Doesn’t make sense to me. Also what about cleaning in between lotion
I just used lotion with fragrance and it burned. I didn't realize the lotion had semi fragrance. 😳 terrible experience.
Clean with liquid Dial Gold soap in between and pat dry with a clean paper towel.
Hi rookie question here, just had my first tatt. I was told to use Dial Gold Bar soap. But they're scented though. Then I looked it up it says it's the best overall. Do I still use it?

i just don't get it man. every guy on youtube has a diffeerent opinion on how to take care of a new tattoo.
One guy says that you need to let it breath and another says you need to keep
it moisturies ALL the time.
I got my tattoo on friday (today is sunday), kept my protection film for a few hours, took it off, gave it a sensitive wash with antibacterial soap and then i applied some bephanten to it and i've been wahsing it regulary and then aplying the same cream on it ever since. i now realise i've been using too much moisturiser/bephanten and i'll use a bit less, but besides that, did i took the right steps my brother? 🤔
honestly, it just depends on how your skin reacts in my opinion. I usually use aquaphor for my new tattoos but people i know don’t even moisturize it. I hate it when it itches, so i put on moisturizer. again the more tattoos you get, the more familiar you are gonna be with your skin and what kind of routine you should be doing for your tattoos.
Is it okay to gently wash off the old ointment from our tattoo before applying the ointment? How often and how long should I wash?
Definitely wash the old ointment before putting on new ointment or you will clog the pores and get tiny pimples
What if the artist tell you to keep the wrap on for 5 days do I still remove it?
You need a different artist. Theres no way
I was told the same thing, I’m on day 2 of the sandiderm but I’m taking it off today & grabbing some aquaphor, unscented antibacterial soap, and white unscented lotion for whenever I don’t need aquaphor anymore
They're probably referencing the saniderm film. I've steered away from this only because I've heard of people having allergic reactions to it. So I stay away.
Btw, you want to let your tattoo breathe, the wrap should only be on your tattoo for the first 45-60 min after getting it, just to keep the blood and plasma down for the meantime
@@boo1488 Saniderm/Tegaderm/Second Skin are breathable, waterproof dressings. Perfectly fine to wear for 3-4 days. No longer than 7 days. Cling-wrap is what you only wear for the first hour.
My artist had put on Saniderm on my new tattoo and advised me to keep it on 1 to 2 days. ( I had left it on for on 1 day)

My tattoo artist told me after the first hour
3-4 days is fine trust me I been there.
You take off the first saniderm 24 hours after you get the tattoo and then you take off the second layer in 6 days
Why tattoo guy told me not to wash my tattoo at all.
Another DO, save your money and go to a professional tattoo artist!
