8:35 To give a bit more dephts about this subject: During PD101 a lot of people recognized Soyeon was one of (if not the most) talented trainee of the show. However most of the time, like you said, it was just back handed compliment because it was followed by "But she is unpretty", "She isn't fitting the Idol visual norm", "She is putting a flaw in the group harmony", blah blah blah To the point that even SHE became to much self conscious of this hate against her image (reminder that she was only 17 at the time), which followed with herself saying that she was confused because she was thinking that she didn't deserved to be in a team for a specific mission because after seeing the members she thought she would ruin the team image. She basically said on national TV that she knows what people are saying about her and can't go against it. YET she still made it to the final episode, which in itself shown that her talent was recognized... But at what cost ? She followed with her participation in Unpretty Rapstar 3, where EVERYONE was afraid of her, yet she said during a diss battle: "It's not like being ugly is something I can deny. I was ugly, I am ugly. I know already". People made her think she was ugly, that she wasn't reaching the standard. But no matter whatever ugly things people threw (and are still throwing to her) she is where she is today leader of one the top GG in the industry, delivering messages that need to be talked about. Delivering "Allergy" that is speaking about her personnal experience in a way that can touch people, a message which can resonate with a majority of people. And I will always love her and I-DLE for what they are doing with their artistry, with how they are fighting prejudice ! ❤
I think this MV also signifies the messed up reality of social media and how it potrays lives as perfecct when everyone is really j struggling in real life. Like Shuhua and yuqi work in a store but they borrow branded things from miyeon to post and pose on insta. so when they are at a party, they secretly look at those better off than them and feel jealous Soyeon looks at yuqi w branded things in pics and envies her. she looks at Miyeon's posts and thinks if she was as pretty as her maybe she'd get to have fun and have friends too (the girls night out ref) Miyeon is extremely pretty and rich and has good friends but craves her boyfriend's attention. She feels she's not enough and that's why her bf left her for minnie who's prettier and more confident and hence she tries to copy everything Minnie does (the exercise part after watching her on tv ref) And minnie on the other hand has a bf, has social media reputation, is an influencer and is extremely confident (or acts like it) but feels an empty void inside (her looking at the friend grp at the start of the vid) or (her starin of into the crowd of party people at the end of the vid as if she's lonely and is alone j after the shot with her bf) Everyone is messed up in some way but acts like they aren't. it's kind of like even those whom you envy are jealous of someone else

The song that made me tear up 🥺 coz it described ME. i don't watch a lot of girl group because of my insecurities.. whenever i see someone so pretty, talented and successful around my age i feel worthless. To avoid feeling disgusted to myself and hating these artist I don't watch them. I don't wanna be toxic
I never noticed till now that the Allergy MV starts with a snippet of Queencard. Also, you guys should check out the teasers which actually give more about the storyline for these to MVs. The characters are all supposed to be friends & Yuqi does the voiceover for two of them, but there’s one for each girl too. They’re not very long.

Gidle comeback never disappoints tbh they literally deliver their superior concept so well this time. They are having a tough time and war with le sserafim and aespa on music charts since they three all made a comeback in May 😂 Edit: not requesting a reaction but u must definitely check out aespa comeback too, these three girl groups are serving us with good music in May ❤
With each audition, my opinion changed… Now I have decided that this song has not surpassed my favorites in the songs of (G)I-DLE, but it is not bad! Thanks

Love G(I)-dle and happy for their comeback. This M/V didn't hit at first to me because I never liked the put glass on an attractive person trope but I get why they did it and the song is great. Hope Özlem's wrist feels better. *Sorry if that's just a fun fashion accessory but I know you were going through some minor injuries so thought the tape was related.*
Optical problems still exist no matter how good looking somebody might be. Some people literally CANNOT wear contact lenses at all in order to have their vision properly corrected. I tried contacts, they worked for me as far as visual correction BUT they were SUCH A PAIN IN THE ASS and SO TIME-CONSUMING that I wound up being late for school on far too many occasions. Glasses are simpler, easier, lower-maintenance (literally easier to maintain and therefore less time-consuming from the rest of your day) and the list goes on and on. It's not a 'trope'. It's called 'real life', which is what (G)I-DLE was going for with this social commentary.

I know what they meant and I wear glasses so I'm not sure where the offense because they are practical and of couse people need them to see. That wasn't my point, just wasn't my thing.
