There never used to be a threat to police officers. In the 70s and early 80s the police regularly housed their constables together. My town had a row of around 20 houses on a particular street that was known as the Police Houses.
If the police feel as though they are not safe within the communities they live, it’s a problem that they themselves have created. When they were independent and actually policed for the community they did not have a problem.

What I was always taught was that you can come up easier than you can come down. The main speaker of the two gave me the impression that he was an angry man. The law, as it is written, is ok. For it to be an offence it MUST include threatening or abusive behaviour. The thing that's wrong it that the police ALWAYS ignore this part of the act. The word offensive was removed because no-one has the right to not be offended. This guy, an inspector, left out the part about threatening or abusive behaviour. He's been leaving out for 27 years. They've abused their powers, abused people's legally protected activity and have acted in a threatening and abusive manner, and they do so knowing they will not be held accountable, as their colleagues senior officers just turn blind eyes to their offensive and abusive actions. They always say… “you’re looking for a reaction.” Well, even if he was… he is still doing legal activity and you’re still giving a reaction! If you’re curious… that’s fine. Ask and know what is legal activity and leave them alone. Arguing your bias morals on strangers is not illegal but you can’t push someone to do something you want. You’re not his daddy or boss.

That whole terrorism threat, is a worry for all. Why they rise themselves over others and their safety is astounding. To be threatened with arrest, a person other than an officer, would have to reasonably feel harassment, alarm, or distress. Police have a much higher threshold to overcome for distress. This has been deemed by the courts in the UK.
That the police don't like it, is tough. They can petition the law makers and ask for the law to be changed.
