Emergency Wildfire Evacuation

- A forest fire was heading towards the cat shed and snow shelter at one of our main local snowmobile parks, so the club that runs the snowcat called and asked if I could haul it off the mountain as soon as possible. This is where the beauty of the @zackliftinternational4841 comes in and I was able to completely remove the heavy wrecker body from my @SeriousTrucks and be hooked to my @trail-ezetrailers5661 lowed in under 10 minutes. We then headed up the mountain to meet up with one of the machine operators to load the cat up and get it off the mountain.
Hopefully this all turns out to be unnecessary and the fire fighters get the blaze stopped before it gets to the snow park, but if not at least the @prinothofficial Bison will be safe and can be put back to work on the trails this winter when the snow storms come back

Casey whips that big ol western star around like it's an F150! Nice work driver!!
💙🇺🇲 That's the truth...he is a g.o.a.t.!
He’s a backup artist ….
Hey man he puts his pants on one leg at a time like the rest of us.
@@chax2004 you're point?? Thanks for the tip, I thought he put his pants on ass first.... 🤦🤦🤦
@@timmorin69 too much info. Bro.
When you bought the lowboy and explained why you wanted that exact size, I'm sure people were skeptical of how practical it would be. You've shown time and time again why you've done the things that you've done, and how they all fit into the niche that you operate in. Super neat to watch you convert to a totally different function with 1 truck and do it so seamlessly.
I knew that he had a solid plan from the beginning.
@@t.l.robinson2162yup. The way he explained his plans, I had no doubt. The Zacklift also lived up to everything he sold it as being for.
Like how you never panicked just worked efficiently to get hooked and ready to go
Agreed. Casey showed the urgency but without the panic that some might display. Very professionally done.
Panicking is when you make mistakes. And especially when you're moving equipment, you don't want to make any mistakes. Costs more time and more money and can get you into more trouble.
They obviously called the right guy for that call.
He earns every penny for his work.
Casey, If there’s a Central Oregon “Wall of Fame,” you ought to be on it. Helping folks out of all sorts of predicaments, public lands cleanup and a host other good citizen work. You have my vote!
Perfect example of oregon isnt just Salem and Portland...... just like Washington isn't just known as the cesspool or aka Seattle....
@@RonBurgandy-o5z You mean "cesspool DC"? LOL!
A rare display of obvious and justified urgency
It's pretty obvious why, but man, you really moved during this video. I don't think I've seen you hurry like that while not rushing, even in nasty winter weather... but then, winter weather isn't quite as immediately life-threatening! We can also see the benefits of practice in your new record time for removing the Zacklift.
I came here to say this… I have never seen Casey hustle his equipment like that… He was moving!
Winter storms are easily as life threatening as this was.
at the beginning of the video, the beeping sounds almost on point to Stargate sg1 gate operating siren.
You beat me to it. Casey was moving FAST!!
Winter storms can take a turn for the worse, but no where near as quickly as a wildfire can change direction with the wind and suddenly be on top of you.
Your economy of motion makes watching worth it all. It's good to see someone who is organized and squared away..
That is impressive to be able to go from a wrecker to pulling a trailer in such a short time! and then saving a Snow Cat. Then back to a wrecker.
You can never talk too much Casey. Your wisdom is what makes me love your channel so much.
I'm sure the owner of that Snow Cat was extremely grateful to save their $300,000 machine even if the fire doesn't make it that far.
oh absolutely! you really can't put a pricetag on safety...
As a single truck carrier, I know one of the big costs is insurance on EACH power unit. IMO, this is what makes the ZackLift perfect for you as a single person company.
Casey really does have the coolest stuff in his toybox.🇺🇸
AWESOME - ZackLift to Flatbed in 10 minutes for the Emergency Call Win!!! Casey is a man with the right skill set, tools, and positive attitude to help out folks in all sorts of sticky or smoky situations!!!
Watching Casey move heavy equipment through yards is like watching a competitive dancer - a beautiful sight.
Great job getting the Zacklift off. Thanks for helping all the people that you have helped. 😊
Okloi8😅
You know, whoever first designed that low-boy trailer was genius.
Practice makes perfect Casey , you are a pro at removing the Zacklift !!!
First time I have seen the Zachlift removed with the engine running. Rattles a bit, but Casey is in a hurry.
@@gordonrichardson2972It needs to be running. It’s alway removed with the truck running
It’s a very different situation and setup, but when I worked on the ski hill it usually took half a day for a couple of mechanics and the driver to load a snowcat on a trailer. Strong work.
One thing about it, Casey is always prepared and He can do it all.. Awesome video…
That guy is living the life. Rides his Dual sport bike up to load the snowcat. Also rides ATV’s and snowmobiles in an area that has amazing places to ride.
🔥I've worked two major wildland fires as EMT and Site Resident for a mountaintop observatory. Both times we were advised to prep for evacuating and running away, but somehow it worked out and did not have to run for our lives. A few years later after after I'd moved away an even bigger fire rolled thru and utterly destroyed that mountain range. Wiped out the town, erased it all down to ash and cinders. When a fire takes to the tree tops it becomes a Crown Fire. Incredible heat and flame lengths into hundreds of feet. The roar is terrifying. The radiant heat can boil sap in trees ahead of the flame front, cause a steam explosion and then a fireball. In such fires all the firefighters can do about it is evacuate to save their own lives and equipment.
I'll never forget sitting in my 4x4 truck, monitoring radios and watching the columns of two crown fires coming up canyons toward our staging area in a meadow. The USFS had two big bulldozers at the front of a convoy of 4x4's. You see, the fire had cut the paved road off the mountain. So plan was if the crown fires did not lay down in time we would follow the dozers down a long abandoned, closed off mine road to the north. All 2WD vehicles and supplies we couldn't carry would be abandoned. It was a close thing, but as our zero hour to leave or stay arrived the sun was setting and humidity rose. Simple weather, takes the lungs out of the fire beast and it drops to the ground. Scary stuff, but glad I had that experience.
That was near 30 years ago. Now looking at that escape route on Google Earth, it is hard to imagine the difficulty of the plan having worked!
❤🔥
Thank you for your service.
That road has changed a lot in 30 years too.
TH-cam just said I should watch this. That tow attachment is the coolest thing I've ever seen.
The only downside with the zacklift that I have seen so far is the fact that you loose all the tools and gear that are stored on board. That being said you shouldn't need them once it is disconnected but having tools and gear with you at all times would be nice. 😊 great video casey! Always glad to see you helping out! This world needs more people like you!🎉
Maybe you did not see the silver boxes on the frame with the general tools plus the builting storage boxes on the lowboy for the specific jobs the lowboy allows.
@@andyevans2336 I did see them
Turning the Zacklift conversion into a NASCAR pit stop, your rig never fails to impress me, Casey!
"NASCAR pit stop." I love that thought!
I really like the sound that the door makes when you close the door on the ZackLift truck. It makes that satisfying sound of a solid well sealed door in a properly fitting opening.
I've been watching you for a few years now, and you have been getting better and faster all the time. It's also very impressive how many towing and rescue vehicles you've got since I started watching. Stay safe out there, and God bless.
Well after 20 years of hauling heavy equipment and owning heavy haul companies I would hope so..
Great work Casey! You’re definitely a huge asset to our community, and this is a fine example of how valuable you are as an independent owner operator with your rapid response to a very critical situation. Wildfires are no joke, and your speed and abilities made this look way easier than most could have handled it!
Great job Casey!! I agree that you made the right choice when you chose the Zacklift!! What a great example of versatility!!!
You are living proof that common sense always wins over a fancy college education. This recovery is just one example of the many things you have done that will never be taught in schools. I’m very proud of you and your accomplishments Casey!!
God Bless you and your family!
That's an extremely ignorant outlook on college and education as a whole.
@@JosephSamsor Years ago that would be a correct statement. Unfortunately now most "education facilities" are now more accurately described as indoctrination facilities at best and Ponzi schemes at worst. Applied training programs are the notable exception. The real learning happens on platforms like this.
Common sense is the ability to assess a situation and understand what will be the result if this, that, or the other thing happens and to act so that in any situation, the desired result is achieved, even if that means walking away or keeping your mouth shut. Sometimes that can be taught, even in a college setting. In a junior year college engineering lab, I saw a kid who didn’t know how to use a socket wrench. He’d never used one before and he learned how to. In high school, I saw an egghead call the school tough guy an idiot and ended up with his jaw wired shut for six weeks. That kid had no common sense.
I prefer a surgeon to have a fancy college education.
It is always a pleasure to watch a genuine professional driver doing the job without stress or worry. Great work as usual Mr. Casey.
If that isn’t a Land Lobster? I don’t know what is. Snow Cats have come a Long way.
Right? I said to my husband "that looks like a helicopter, tank, Mantis shrimp" 😄
@@parkcaro 🤣😁
They ought to have an Artist paint a pair of "Land Lobster" RED Lobster Claws on the mortarboard of its Plow !
( maybe repaint the rollcage & cab RED also ? Gotta add a sense of humor & whimsy whereever you can nowadays )
Great job, guys. The low flat trailer just earned a makeover with a new 'First Responder Red' paint job and new floor planks with other upgrades.
The bad thing about controlled burns is all too often they turn into uncontrolled burns. I can't count how many times I have received calls to come to work because a controlled burn is no longer controlled and aerial firefighting is needed and I have to lay down lines of Phos-check ahead of the fire to bring it back under control.
Thank you for your hard and dangerous work
one that comes to mind is up by Green Ridge out of Sisters Oregon. It went from 'we have everything under control' to 'oh sh*t we lost it'
Casey is the Best! The funny thing is I watched you paint the trailer before this video.
That went pretty smoothly awesome video on moving a snow cat quick
That flat bed is so fun to watch you use. Thank you.
It's so refreshing to see someone on TH-cam that actually knows what he's doing !! Good Job !!
Heavy rescue indeed. Great job.
BTW, admire your honesty and professionalism.
Your comments about the windshield made me think of Chase and Edison. In the '70s I worked in a window factory in Chemainus and about once a month one or both of twin brothers came in for a new windshield for there log trucks. My memory says Kenworth but they were both driving split flat windshield trucks. They often called ahead, from a landline, and we would have the glass cut by the time they got in, then replaced a few minutes later and they were on the road.
I really admire you, Chase and Zack. You are wonderful human beings, Thank you
As a islander I am pleasantly surprised to see Chemainus mentioned here. Have a good day Sir.
Gotta love Edison Motors; wishing them great success.
Great video; shows all your capabilities! I bet your dad is so proud of the man you are! Thank you for sharing your life with us people “behind the camera”!
Another amazing job!❤
Casey in my opinion the Zack lift is the perfect truck to have since you can handle any call or situation.
Casey, I've watched this twice now and your work ethic is outstanding. 👍You never stopped moving. Great job under a tough situation. Cheers 😀
Never let it be said that you're anything but efficient at all times (cough) but it was great seeing you in Urgent Efficient mode. Good one Casey :)
Good video as usual. Good info for folks about prescribed fire. Also it appeared those areas had been thinned out as well, which is an important step. Forests are dynamic like everything else in the natural world - it all requires attention, or mother nature will eventually balance the scales and Get your attention!
That Zacklift is so freaking cool I’ve never seen anything like that till i started watching your videos. Keep up the good work
Nice to see that a small company with a truck and trailer gets a call when someone is desperate need of help and finds someone that drop everything to go and help someone. I bet that this "customer" will contact Casey again with more work in the future.
I've worked with a water tanker in a fire, I had 4 inch side dumps that can empty the 6500 gallon in a few minutes, the fire crews loved the fact I can keep the sides of the road Clean
Great job guy. The service you provide is priceless.
Very Precise backing! Good job.
Casey working like he was going to a fire! It sure helps to have rehearsed this!
Fast & efficient on removing the Zacklift😎 Driving the Snowcat through that gate😳”Like a glove”👍😎 Great job, stay safe out there!❤️🙏
My biggest fear hiking during fire season is getting caught behing the line of a fire. Great job!
Another great video! And the subscriber numbers just keep climbing. Congrats on that too. Seems like Zacklift should host a Zacklift games and have a "Remove and Reinstall the Zacklift" competition. I think you would stand a pretty good chance of taking that one.
Awesome snowcat recovery 👏 It's better safe than sorry!
Thanks for sharing!😊
You had me holding my breath when you unhooked from the zack lift , I thought for a minute you were going to forget to disconnect your hydraulic lines from the pump . 😮 !
When I saw the news here in Minnesota that you all was having a fire in your state. The first thing come to mind was the safety of you, your family and the amazing people that's on your channel sometimes. Hope and pray everyone is safe.
Hangs out with Sparks and suddenly needs to rescue a snow cat.🤦♂️🤣🤣🧐🤯
Perfect truck and guy to get the job done and the lowboy worked out perfect. 👏👏👏💪💪💪
Enjoy your content. And thank you kindly.
I just knew you would be involved on the fire somehow. Nice job. Cool lawn ornament for that place. lol.
If it was a even more of an emergency rush, you can grab the low boy with Zachary and be gone in seconds! And thats pretty cool!
HEY! Good morning Casey !
I'm so happy for you, Lidia, to see family with you. You deserve happiness.😊
Finally got the nice LED red amber lightbar,
Looks STL 60" lightbar dual colour red amber
Well done Casey that was a super quick haul. You sure are efficient and well organized
You the Man Casey! Great job
No pressure.
and regarding the "action items"...
I learned quite a while ago that, sometimes you need to accept that planning to get something done doesn't work. Things get done when they NEED to get done, more often than not. :D
Nice job guy's, you did that totally fast Casey. And great work filming. Thanks for the video 👋
The Western Star looks badass hooked to a lowboy.
It just needs a nice 'First Responder Red' paint job. That would look super sharp.
Ive never seen a quick swap wrecker attachment before, thats pretty awesome stuff.
Time was not waisted. Things where done.
Nice work.
Casey thank you for being who you are
Nice work, clean and quick. When you stand in the shadow of the smoke from a wildfire you feel really small! I usually become acutely aware of just how slowly I move, even at my quickest. Nothin' like it!
Funny, I'm watching a video of Casey moving a snowcat in front of a fire and about 10 minutes after he enters the fire/smoke zone I think I smell smoke here at my house in Northern Wisconsin!
That’s a great trailer, perfect for the situation. 👊👍
Very nice work 👍😊
Casey that Zacklift bed is awesome. This is the first time I ve seen it off. I had no idea it was anything but a wrecker. I ve seen you do lots with the bed. Then to drop it in ten mins awesome !!!!
I remember that one you’re talking about: people stuck, while the roads were getting closed. On video it didn’t look that dangerous, but it was one of those situations where one mistake can block the road to safety.
Does anybody have the link to that video?
@@PeterM_K th-cam.com/video/4XLFyYLTiSo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=KgJsnjAJXPfekMaU
Casey and Dave on a rescue mission. They came, they saw and they saved another piece of equipment. Kudos and Cheers to Casey and Dave.
Damn Casey, you were wheeling that Western Star up the mountain. Impressive bit of driving.
just like a Swiss Army knife, multi purpose truck fantastic work 😃😃
Casey you are a professional , you make it look way to easy to do what you do !
Slappy I went to physical therapy until I had to do surgery. Everyone saying don’t do the surgery but I was damn near crippled. So I did the surgery and it was well worth it. But I still do therapy weekly to keep tuned up. I stopped during COVID and went back after. I kept my bike from going down during an up hill u-turn and injured my
Sacroiliac. So I went back and it took 6 month to get back to normal. Now I got just to keep my body tuned and aligned correctly. I also once had carpal tunnel and I got rid of that by doing hand weights continuously for a couple months and rebuilt the muscles in my hand. I only got I because I stopped lifting weights due to other pain. Yeah we get old but we must keep moving. Movement is life.
Certainly was an interesting couple of days down here in South County with the Darlene 3 fire. Watching this episode, I initially thought the idea of "rescuing" the Snowmobile Club's Bison up at 10 Mile Snopark seems a bit of a reach, but the shift and speed increase in the wind on Wednesday made me look silly and the folks who actually have financial skin in the winter recreation game look pretty smart. Thanks for the video and for showing us the AMAZING flexibility of your Zacklift system...
I did contractor work for calfire for many years and have seen fires change direction and cover incredible amounts of ground with no warning many times. Getting that cat out of there was definitely the right call
Better safe than sorry! Good job Casey!
That the fastest I seen him work 🎉😂
I bet those guys were happy to see that big beautiful western star pull up. Good work as always casey 👍 let us know in a future video if the fire spares the park
i think most people see you work day to day for fun. but its videos like this that shoe that your serious with some proper kit and can get the job done when it comes to it. Good job casey
Hai Casey was een indrukwekkende mooie video mooi te zien hoe snel je kon omwisselen en de machine was interessant ik heb ervan genoten bedankt ervoor gr carel uit Nederland
No nonsense video. Very 👍👍
Casey, you have one of the most confident and positive attitudes that I have ever witnessed! It’s amazing to watch you work and never get flustered. I’m thankful for all your hard work, caring and generosity! Thank you for sharing your work and knowledge with all of us!
Very good video coverage on this one, the extra pair of hands and eyes is a definite bonus. 👍👍🇦🇺
Very odd thing I noticed on the video when you turn off the main road and the truck is following you the whole thing looks like computer generated for that one shot. Not the first time I've seen it, it's happened on a few channels and i assume its something to with large screen ultra high definition tv and Internet channels nothing you have done.
Not long found this channel and love it.
You did an awesome job!! Loved it!! Thank you!
Fast, efficient, safe, organised. Excellent job.
It's nice that people can count on a company reliable enough to help in a bad situation, great job sir ❤
