    The multi scale is sooooo cool. I can’t wait to put it to practice. That alone is so worth the time to learn, and wow what a time saver opposed to doing two separate drawings. Dam Edward, that is another awesome tip.

    Hello Edward,, I am Wasa S. Kpaka from Sierra Leone. You are a wonderful teacher. I have been learning CAD since 2004. I followed SabeerCAD by then and now you. I am impressed by your works.
    One question for now:
    How can I apply these annotations and drawing set up skills into the one bedroom house design.
    I followed the design steps to the end.

      Thank you! I'm happy you found the videos helpful. You may need to create a dwg with all your settings, save it as a template file somewhere on your PC, then like I did in episode 2 or episode 24, in the One Bedroom Series - replace the current template with your new template for Model/Views.

    Amazing video! Learned a ton, question: where does the scale 1:25 come from? I'm understand that all models should be drawn full size, do you only set the scale in the text/dims/mleaderstyle? So when you actually scale the drawing, the text/dims/style will be proportionate to the scale? So this scale you're setting only has to do with the size of the font, not the actual model?

    • @TDVision_U
      @TDVision_U  ปีที่แล้ว

      You got it! That's is correct. When you set the scale on the sheet, the text/dims/notes will be the right size on the sheet.

    Question Edward... Should all my annotations/dimensions/leaders go in model space? What is the best practice?
    Again, thank you for all the work you put into this instruction series!

    • @TDVision_U
      @TDVision_U  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am personally prefer in to have dimensions and annotations in model space. It gives me a lot more flexibility to where I can move a view from one layout to the other without worrying about messing up my already existing notes. Overall, it is just easier to manage notes and dimensions in model space. That being said, there are some instances where I might put notes on layout, especially if it's not a lot of notes.

    • @TDVision_U

      Yes there. Highlight dimensions/right click/Annotative Object Scale/Add Delete Scale/. From here, you can add and remove the scales that you want.

    Great video, I sure did learn new things here. Thanks a lot. I have a question. When I change the scale at the bottom, is that the scale for dimensions and annotations only or, is it also for my building? That's will it affect it when I want to print it out on a different scale?

    • @TDVision_U
      @TDVision_U  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for checking out my videos. Happy you found them helpful. To answer your question: in Model Space, the scale at the bottom of the screen is for all annotative objects, such as texts, dimensions etc. It doesn't affect the building or objects that you drew.

      Thank you. Line weight for dimensions can be 0.15 to 0.3, depending on how think you want it to look.

  • @douglasmichel6361
    @douglasmichel6361 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a question reading the dimensioning. I was taught not to cross dimension lines with other dim strings. I. E., I would have put the wall thickness dims inside the string with window dimensions and eliminate the inside wall to wall dim. Is it a preference or a rule?

    • @TDVision_U
      @TDVision_U  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think its preference. It might be a rule depending on geographical location. AutoCAD Architecture's default AEC Exterior Dimensions have 3 chains/strings stacked - to which you can assign each string to capture what you want it to capture. I will be doing a video on this sometime in the future.

    • @douglasmichel6361
      @douglasmichel6361 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TDVision_U so what your saying is I can tell AC using AEC dimensioning what to look for? Example, walls, or just openings like windows and doors in a single string then perhaps just an overall wall length and so on? Thanks

    Hi Edward, a couple of questions here.
    1. I noticed my annotative styles did not appear in my foundation plan after i switched from ground floor, is there a way to do this?
    2. My gridline labels disappeared after i changed scales and did not reappear after i went back, how can i get the labels visible?

    • @TDVision_U
      @TDVision_U  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      1. That's because we did not create template file with the annotation and object styles to load into the project, if you're following the 1-bedroom house series. A template file with all the styles and settings will need to be loaded in at the conception of the project, or before you start creating views.
      2. The labels disappear because they were created in the wrong scale. Go back to your grid construct and apply the scale you'll be using in your views.
      If that make sense. I hope it helps. ✌️

    I also have one more question. I am working in a project and I just set up all my Styles for my Floor Plan View. When I go into my foundation view the styles are no longer there. Is there a way to load the previously made styles so that I don't have to do that for every view in the project that I want to annotate?

    • @TDVision_U
      @TDVision_U  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. You will need to create a template that contains all of your styles. Then chose that in your Project Properties under Templates/Common Model/Template. Once that's loaded in, all new created views/constructs should have your styles.

      I'm not sure why it's not working for you. You probably need to go back and edit the dimension style. See if you choose the right amount of decimal places, etc. Then make sure it's active. Then make sure the aec dimensions are using that style.

    • @TDVision_U
      @TDVision_U  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok, so just like what I did in Dimensions Explained Part 2 video, you would setup the dimension style as you like it. Under the Primary Units tab, you would choose "Architectural" for unit format, then set a precision of 0'-0 1/16" (or whichever precision you need). Hit OK. Then Set up your AEC Dim like I showed in this video. I hope that helped.
