East Germany tried to pretend, that James Last played in Berlin the first time and his concert at the Schöneberg town hall never happened.
I watched them performed here in Manila in the late 1980s and we all sang and danced with their music!

It was challenging to keep the James Last Band alive when James Last lived and it was impossible to keep it after this.
By the way, there are some James Last tribute bands.

This James Last Concert in 1987 was presented short than 2 years before Berlin “tore down the wall” in 1989 and made divided Germany whole again as an independent country✌️
Understandbly when this James Last Show was done in Berlin it was still under the communist regime of Russia. It explains why the audience are very formal in their participation especially in dancing the Blue Danube!
