I think he's the best he's ever been. Saw him in 2019 at Wolftrap, DC - and he had me from the opening note until the very last one. Every song was captivating and new, even the old ones! : ) Dire Straits were fantastic, but now he's more in a class with DaVinci, Shakespeare, Beethoven. The most amazing artist ever (God excluded, of course!)

How lucky these people are in the concert. This is one of the few concerts where they have played at same speed and sound as the original records. The musicians are just amazing and the quality of sound is just incredible!! My one criticism - you have to be there. Heard him in the worst stadium, concrete, facing walls, the whole audio hell of a place and they sounded like soft butter. Every note from every instrument in perfect balance, like a studio album. That’s when you know just how brilliant they are. Nowhere to hide, everyone in perfect harmony. What a band.
Flew out of City airport to Milan for three days and to go to this concert, which was on my 68th birthday. What a very special night. I have every piece of music he has performed, there is no other artist like him, never will be. Absolute legend.

Always hurtful when your heroes get old. Love his music. My first concert was in Brussels in 1983 , I think, and I was mesmerised by Sultans of Swing. Like so many others here, I believe Knofler is one of the greatest and brightest guitarists ever.
He and his music have aged well. But yes, I agree that I get sentimental when listening to many of his beautifully written pieces and realize how time waits for no one. Just glad that we have TH-cam where we can experience our favorites whenever, and experience something new each time.

I don't know how many times I've watched this video but one thing I always notice is how much Mark respects the musicians on stage. When somebody is soloing, Mark turns to watch him Like he's got better than a front seat for the concert.

I'm 65 now and the songs of Mark had been journeying with me till present.2022. His music is simply eargasm to me ...ohh the telegraph road.,.. best on the road even I got no car...hehehe. The purity of his guitarwork makes me cry. I've been smitten with this man and his work for 48 years (my lifetime). A meister of his art and a legend amongst legends. I'm still hoping he comes to play in India once. Our exchange rate doesn't allow me to go watch him play. It's still on my bucket list though. Love you, man.
I had a friend who lived in my dingy apartment complex who knew I had insomnia. He would come up to my apartment and play his guitar at the foot of my bed until I fell asleep. I'll never forget it, I would doze off and the next thing I would hear is him slipping quietly out of my apartment door. We're still friends, we were never lovers, just friends through the years. I was stupid not to succumb to his desire for me as "more than a friend". However, I know he's happy now with his current wife and I'm happy for him. Knopfler reminds me how wonderful it is to have a friend who will be my chamber musician.

Me and a group of 6 friends left Brazil and we had the honor of watching Mark Knopfler in Dublin at 3Arena, in May 2019, unforgettable!
I'm accidentally came across this live performance and couldn’t tear myself away from watching it, even though it was already late at night. I’ve been listening to Mark all my life, every song is full of associations, I’m 55 now.

and another place. He embodies the old Troubadour of old and I know no other artist that can pull me out of the here and now and suddenly I'm standing on a street corner
somewhere watching a scene unfold, or on a mountain watching the grass sway. A real song weaver.

I love Mark Knopfler from the bottom of my ears.
My one criticism - you have to be there. Heard him in the worst stadium, concrete, facing walls, the whole audio hell of a place and they sounded like soft butter. Every note from every instrument in perfect balance, like a studio album. That’s when you know just how brilliant they are. Nowhere to hide, everyone in perfect harmony. What a band.

Flew out of City airport to Milan for three days and to go to this concert, which was on my 68th birthday. What a very special night. I have every piece of music he has performed, there is no other artist like him, never will be. Absolute legend.

Always hurtful when your heroes get old. Love his music. My first concert was in Brussels in 1983 , I think, and I was mesmerised by Sultans of Swing. Like so many others here, I believe Knofler is one of the greatest and brightest guitarists ever.

He and his music have aged well. But yes, I agree that I get sentimental when listening to many of his beautifully written pieces and realize how time waits for no one.

I don't know how many times I've watched this video but one thing I always notice is how much Mark respects the musicians on stage. When somebody is soloing, Mark turns to watch him Like he's got better than a front seat for the concert.

The purity of his guitarwork makes me cry. I've been smitten with this man and his work for 48 years (my lifetime). A meister of his art and a legend amongst legends. I had a friend who lived in my dingy apartment complex who knew I had insomnia. He would come up to my apartment and play his guitar at the foot of my bed until I fell asleep. I'll never forget it, I would doze off and the next thing I would hear is him slipping quietly out of my apartment door. We're still friends, we were never lovers, just friends through the years. I was stupid not to succumb to his desire for me as "more than a friend". However, I know he's happy now with his current wife and I'm happy for him. Knopfler reminds me how wonderful it is to have a friend who will be my chamber musician.
