I dislike the cockpit and display. Give me a proper dashboard and Head-Up Display with navigation so I don't have to refer to the center stack while driving, and I can do 95% without moving my eyes from the windshield.
The price will come down evenyually, but why bring the price down when orders are still coming in for the foundation series? Companies sell their products for whatever the market supports. They can only sell what they can build, and right now they're selling as many as they can build. If they brought the price down to $5 they wouldn't sell a single extra truck.
In the era of EVs we need to stop talking about torque. Its simply not relevant any more. Infact it kinda stopped being relevant for ICE vehicles with the introduction of 8 speed gearboxes. Torque is only relevant for vehicles which will be asked to produce power outside their normal peak power range, e.g at 2000rpm. A modern transmission will whip up the engine revs to peak power very quickly now, so only power matters.
Tesla doesn't get a pass. They tried it and it doesn't actually work if the panels don't line up and it is having all the issues they were saying it wouldn't. A close miss is still a miss, and being different doesn't mean being good.
Sit down Ichigo. Truck owners have never measured their panel gaps. What 1500 class truck is better and why? Excluding the pathetic towing range, every truck beats it on that.
Software people built a car. Its impressive, but fun? Those are exactly the words that describe Teslas. Most of the owners think otherwise. There is more out there than 0 to 60 .Gosh Ive waited for this video for a long while. I live in the bay area of San Francisco. You see them in every corner. Everyone and their grandma owns a Model 3 as well. Drive 70 miles south and they suddenly are nowhere to be seen
I guess you two COULD NOT FIND the live television, Netflix, Disney or Hulu channels? I guess you missed the boring REAR screen (“oh, everyone is used to screens”). Ok, but does everyone else’s software actually work. Why don’t you drive with the beautiful maps up or the huge rear camera display if you don’t want boring. All you guys did was switch seats like some Chinese fire drill. You two, like most, especially older generations WANTED to not like the truck and start your reviews UNINFORMED and BIASED. What about all the storage space? No, let’s talk about dicing carrots AGAIN. SURE, a channel named THROTTLE HOUSE would NEVER be biased would they? They managed to never find the beautiful maps or rear cameras either, how coincidental. Let’s do like every other reviewers and talk about stalks and how HARD it is to swipe up and down. Kids, younger generations won’t be so inept at swiping on a screen.

Uhhhhh, because most car hoods aren't motorized!?!? A vehicle with a motorized tailgate, or automatic window should have a sensor that detects if there is an obstruction and stop to prevent serious injury. Why would a normal car hood have that!?

Seedless watermelons!! What a comparison! Gone are the days of sitting on the porch on a hot summer's day spitting watermelon seeds into the grass, seeing if you or your friend can shoot them farther. Now it's just *consume*... Tired of the “off putting” sensationalism. You know what? It was off putting the first time a person went from a horse to a bike, then car, then plane, etc.
Great review as usual guys. I think that Muskett, since he is dabbling in every venture now (because that's what you do when you have money), had his head in space and decided to create this monstrosity. Since he does not believe in global warming and the destruction of the planet, (because HE can just fly to space), he does not need to care about mass ugly consumption and greed, while much of the rest of the world goes hungry.

Anyone who purchases a Cybertruck right now doesn't really care about money.. they have enough of it to burn.
If people are willing to pay for it, Tesla would be stupid not to offer it. I personally wouldn't want to buy any car in its first few years after release, as that's when all the problems surface. If I were getting a CT I'd want the 2028 model, as then 99% of the bugs will be worked out and it will probably be $30-40k cheaper by then. Political view? Our guys avoid all discussion of religion and politics in both our channels and our podcast. We state pros and cons of every vehicle we drive. What political view was stated here?
Keep in mind that this vehicle cannot be sold in Europe because it doesn't pass pedestrian crash safety standards -- you don't have to be a scientist to get an idea as to what those jagged front corners will do to a human being even at low speeds. The only reason Tesla can sell it in the US is because we don't have ANY pedestrian crash safety standards here WHATSOEVER. Make no mistake, human lives will be needlessly lost because of Tesla's carelessness here.
@@davidbeppler3032 If you don't believe me on the US not having any pedestrian safety laws, Google is but a new tab away. The Cybertruck cannot be sold in Europe because it cannot pass their safety standards. That is fact. Semis mostly keep to freeways and gas stops, and as commercial vehicles they are subject to different laws. Not often you see semis cruising on city or suburban streets the way a consumer vehicle like the Cybertruck will. Whether you think that's acceptable or not is something you should petition your government on.
@@davidbeppler3032the way you spoke with such passion but could have easily checked your words before saying them and spewing non facts simply because you FELT a way. Sigh 😞
To be fair you would have to compare to other full size trucks. First of all, Teslas have the best autobrake system to not hit pedestrians. Secondly, the front of the Cybertruck is much lower giving you a chance to be thrown over the vehicle instead of pancaked and potentially run over. Even with a potential for getting hurt by sharp corners I am pretty sure the Cybertruck is safer.

I think the type of buyer will change, but I don't think it's going away. When the price comes down and FSD is solved this will really appeal to fleet owners for r construction sites and stuff due to the ruggedness and not having to worry about employees banging it up if FSD is doing the driving. It will likely even be able to go get tools or materials on its own eventually - send it to get a load of dirt or lumber, or pick up your takeout order, or go pick up a coworker, or to fetch a piece of equipment that was forgotten back at the yard, etc.
@@BradBolin it's not quite a unibody, it's kind of a hybrid that is much tougher and stronger than your typical unibody. I am quite confident when people start beating the crap out of it on job sites it will hold up better than any other truck. @@LafemmebearMusic are... are you agreeing or disagreeing with him? I mean, that's literally his point.
love the video; hate the Cybertruck
I dislike the cockpit and display. Give me a proper dashboard and Head-Up Display with navigation so I don't have to refer to the center stack while driving, and I can do 95% without moving my eyes from the windshield.
I agree I think only Elon musk wanted the Tesla cyber truck to look like that
NO
I had not seen any and then saw two in the past week here in MA. To be honest I'd like it better without the exaggerated lo-poly looks.
Paul, torque is not 10 thousand. Todd.. it is POR-SHA. NOT PORCH
AWD versions price must come down!
The price will come down evenyually, but why bring the price down when orders are still coming in for the foundation series? Companies sell their products for whatever the market supports. They can only sell what they can build, and right now they're selling as many as they can build. If they brought the price down to $5 they wouldn't sell a single extra truck.
I'm cool with a Honda Acty.
? - We’re glad you’re a Cybertruck fan, and hope you’ll love yours. Based on audience comments here it seems we hit a good middle ground here in pros and cons which is always our intention. We always compliment Teslas software because they do it best. But we are about driving and engagement - so being able to watch streaming channels is never going to make driving better. And we are fascinated to see what the future holds for the Cybertruck. Meanwhile, we’ve talked to many kids and non-drivers about the Cybertruck, and while all are intrigued because it’s different (which we agreed with here)- past that they are mixed in their interest. The future is unknown here and we are curious. Thanks for watching.
Has anybody tried to put their finger under any ordinary car hood and close it? Why is this applicable only to a Cybertruck?
Uhhhhh, because most car hoods aren't motorized!?!? A vehicle with a motorized tailgate, or automatic window should have a sensor that detects if there is an obstruction and stop to prevent serious injury. Why would a normal car hood have that!?
@@michaelp.3485 I guess there are too many dummies who aren't smart enough to keep their fingers away from where they can be crushed. Ever slam the front door of a house without looking if there were any hands or feet in the way? Should you be held responsible for any harm that may occur?
@@michaelp.3485 To me the danger is the same. Would you be responsible is you did close the hood on your wife's fingers because you didn't pay attention?
The actual driving and operation of a Tesla is enough to put me off. They made the driver have to constantly watch tutorials just to figure it out. Where’s the speedo? Am I in park or drive? Why is the steering doing that? What a pain. No thanks.
“It looks totally different to anything else, therefore its multitude of faults are irrelevant”.
Jesus.
? - We’re surprised that this is somehow your takeaway from this review. In fact we wonder how much of it you watched. Our guys stated pros and cons, as they do on every vehicle, and certainly didn’t give it any kind of free pass. But thanks for commenting.
i was about to made a joke that Cybertruck is gross test clown car but World Fast BBQ sound much better
Seedless watermelons!! What a comparison! Gone are the days of sitting on the porch on a hot summer's day spitting watermelon seeds into the grass, seeing if you or your friend can shoot them farther. Now it's just *consume*... Seems a very apt comparison to the Cybertruck - very interesting that it can exist, but it's joyless.
Worst analogy ever.
🥱
So let‘s ALL SEE what SEMA 2024 BRINGS…I think more than 100 Cybertrucks and at least one of them will have more than 3000 electric Horsepower…Magic Word Darkmatter Electric Motor it has 800 Horsepower each take 4 of them 3200 Horsepower
Cyberurinal
I'm on the HATE it camp.
I still think the front looks like iron man’s helmet
I agree. That was an early impression that I got, and now I can't not see it. I like that about it!
Oh Lord, you've aggravated the cultists and Koolaid drinkers - godspeed!
All I see are comments dunking on the truck. So if by cultists you mean from the cult of disdain and negativity, I’d agree.
this is for the cowards too afraid to "like" something from tesla/musk ... so they hate online in the comments of all the cybertruck videos ... pretty pathetic
I bet you cant buy those tyres easily!!
You can turn off the “guessing”.
You guys need to get into an Ioniq 5 N
The vehicular equivalent of a neck tat.
Tired of the “off putting” sensationalism. You know what? It was off putting the first time a person went from a horse to a bike, then car, then plane, etc.
When they sell out
You can come back to this video.
Two guys trying their very best to hate the cybertruck. “People are tired of going fast” as they go to beast mode and giggle like they haven’t in years. I guarantee that they want one.
? - Trying to hate? We’re surprised that this is your takeaway from a piece with very clear pros and cons articulated. And it seems clear that you aren’t familiar with our guys or our work as you’ve made grand statements about their experiences and what they really want.
There is a difference between laughing from sheer enjoyment or laughing from absurdity. A vehicle this large going this fast is absurd, but it is no doubt impressive. As for actual commentary and interest? - Their feelings and takeaways are clearly stated here. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
@@TestDriveVideos I’ve seen several videos with your guys over the years. It was decent video as most are and we don’t all agree on such things as we have different senses of style and express our love of the art of driving differently, but that was my honest impression.
sounds noisy for an ev
You had to review it, reviewing is your job, or part of it anyway. My 2 cents… The cyber truck is an abomination.
Imagine paying 100k for the ‘privilege’ of doing a company’s beta testing for them.
Elon certainly won’t serve any potential prison sentences for you.
Looks like a big Pontiac Aztek! LOL
No, that would be the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. This is just a stainless steel anvil with wheels.
Hate it. Hate it. Hate it.
Foundation, the suckers cybertruck. 20k for a nameplate 1 of the most obsurd things
Sorry you can't afford it
@@meatpunch9144no, but that doesn’t make it not absurd to pay 20k extra for a badge. It’s someone else’s money so like go for it, but also hood complexity. @@LafemmebearMusicYou want to talk about price gouging... European cars. 👈
Porsche charges $240k for a 630 HP 911 that doesn't even come with standard safety features in a Corolla. $4,000 extra for Lane keep assist and radar guided cruise control is dumb, but people do it, because they want other people to know they can afford it.
You'd have to entice me with a much lower price to get the 1st gen model. But I'm all about practicality, a lot of people just want to impress their neighbours or whatever.
Tesla style is FSD.
I have a digital Rolex to sell.
POC
Weird exterior, boring interior, blahh. Elon just put out something so different that some think its revolutionary, but to me its probably going to fizzle out once the hype dies down. Truck people want F150s, not this hipster truck.

short sighted, but OK

Perfect ride for a gay full of muscle
It's not the vehicle for you boomers. Political view just killed your authenticity
Political view? Our guys avoid all discussion of religion and politics in both our channels and our podcast. We state pros and cons of every vehicle we drive. What political view was stated here?
Rivian >
Keep in mind that this vehicle cannot be sold in Europe because it doesn't pass pedestrian crash safety standards -- you don't have to be a scientist to get an idea as to what those jagged front corners will do to a human being even at low speeds. The only reason Tesla can sell it in the US is because we don't have ANY pedestrian crash safety standards here WHATSOEVER.
Make no mistake, human lives will be needlessly lost because of Tesla's carelessness here.
That is BS. If Cybertruck is illegal then all Semis should be illegal. Hit someone at 30mph in any semi and tell me how they are feeling.
Sigh 😞
@@davidbeppler3032in FACT it’s LITERALLY not bs 😂 do better my dude
To be fair you would have to compare to other full size trucks. First of all, Teslas have the best autobrake system to not hit pedestrians. Secondly, the front of the Cybertruck is much lower giving you a chance to be thrown over the vehicle instead of pancaked and potentially run over.
Even with a potential for getting hurt by sharp corners I am pretty sure the Cybertruck is safer.
Boring interior ?
You want complicate and hard to figure out all buttons of sea ?
Well that A waste of time to watch two guys you don’t even own the vehicle. Tell us about it.

And these guys are great at reviewing and comparing a very wide range of cars for the masses of driving enthusiasts.
Not sure why you were expecting something else from them.
@@tedadamgreenI wouldn’t go that far. Everything they said sounded like some scripted half witted attempt at serious journalism with a twist of comedy. 😂

@eloneatmyshorts, I despise Elon and dislike Tesla and the Cybertruck, but I have to disagree with you here: Love it or hate it, the Cybertruck will be a hugely influential design.
lol
I think the type of buyer will change, but I don't think it's going away. When the price comes down and FSD is solved this will really appeal to fleet owners for r construction sites and stuff due to the ruggedness and not having to worry about employees banging it up if FSD is doing the driving. It will likely even be able to go get tools or materials on its own eventually - send it to get a load of dirt or lumber, or pick up your takeout order, or go pick up a coworker, or to fetch a piece of equipment that was forgotten back at the yard, etc.
@@truhartwood3170 I question its suitability for heavy duty use. Remember, it's a unibody.
@@BradBolin it's not quite a unibody, it's kind of a hybrid that is much tougher and stronger than your typical unibody. I am quite confident when people start beating the crap out of it on job sites it will hold up better than any other truck. Maybe not the first year or two of production, there are always bound to be issues that crop up in the first two to three years, but I would be very confident getting a 2028 CT for a job site where it will not be shown any mercy, and I would fully expect it to take a good couple decades of abuse without much issue.
