Extreme brave you are to openly share your journey. It's so beautiful seeing you have reached a phase of recovery where you have released the shame and guilt. This must be so liberating . I wish you all the best. A beautiful life for a beautiful human.
Thank you for your lovely comment. Yes it’s really the biggest relief to be able to talk openly about Bulimia and have moved past it in general. I wish the same for everyone and anyone else who suffers from this horrible horrible disorder
Hi Charly, I know you posted this 3 years ago so you probably won't see this but I still want to thank you regardless. Everything you said is exactly how I feel. My motivation to stop is because I've ruined my once slender face and I'm so deeply saddened. Your video has given me a sense of hope that I can go back to how I was. You are so very appreciated, can't thank you enough for sharing your story. Love from NZ x
@@Hannah15677 Hi Hannah. It's been a rollercoaster for me. I've had good weeks and bad weeks. I can't say I'm on the right path but I'm also not on the wrong path as I have heavily reduced how often I do ''it''. There's still a long road ahead for me. I have a goal of limiting myself to a certain amount a week and that's my current focus (which have been hits and misses). How are you?
Lovely video! I have been baby stepping it for a while now. What I’ve realized is I have several poor coping mechanisms that I would just swap out. Listening to you has been helpful as it gives me reassurance I am on the right track. Love you! Stay strong and keep moving forward 😍🥰
Thank you so much for this video, you have no idea what it means to me 🙏 Even though getting rid of the puffy face is also my biggest drive, I find it so challenging to quit purging, not only for obvious reasons (it's my coping mechanism) but also because I feel it actually worsens the condition of my puffy face when I D'ONT purge. Have you experienced this? :(
No - just that. You can google all the ways in the world to combat the puffy face and swollen glands but until you stop purging they will have minimal effect!
@@anagutierrezdeteran7134 it took a year or so to completely de-puff. Occasionally I still get swelling and inflammation - I'm unsure as to whether this is related to previously having had Bulimia or just normal!
hi, i haven’t purged since october and am fully recovered! how long do you reckon it takes for the face swelling to go down, my glands are always really noticeable and swollen and i hate it , it really effects my self esteem how long did it take for yours to go down and is there anything that can help speed it up thankyou !!
Between months and years depending on how long you have been bulimic and how severe things were. Sorry but it’s just the truth and anything other than that would be misleading! To speed up the process make sure to eat enough food and don’t restrict or compensate!
Ceasing to vomit! XD You can try using apple cider vinegar or hot showers - both of those worked for me but only for a short while and nowhere near as much as quitting purging. Simple and harsh truth!
@@mihatyarra same here, it's so difficult to cope with the puffiness when stopping to purge... I feel like short-term, the purging reduces the puffiness a bit (even if that sounds paradoxical because in the long run the purging does cause/worsen the puffiness...if that makes sense). Has it gotten any better for you? Did you find a way to reduce the puffiness? Please answer me, I'm really desperate :(
@@ElowenFaye Hi there, I'm in the same boat as you. Someone within this comment section suggested '' try rinsing your mouth with salt in water. Good luck you x
im a month in recovery after just restricting for about 6 months and my face is so puffy i hate it. i’m so scared to see people i’m just so worried about if people think my face looks bigger. edema sucks. do you think it takes less time for the puffiness to go down if you didn’t restrict for that long and it wasn’t severe
Hey Trixie, I understand you so well! I have the same worries. How are you today? Has the puffiness gone away? Or could you find ways to deal with it (esp. in social situations)? It's so challenging, I completely isolate myself because I can't stand someone looking at me :(
@@ElowenFaye Hi! I’m a lot better, the puffiness has gone down a lot thankfully! Yes, and this is always going to be the case. There is no way around the swollen face with Bulimia - other than recovering. You can hate on yourself and let your self esteem sink even lower, or you can use it as motivation to get better..

I believe that you are helping a lot of ppl who are suffering of bulimia.
I really appreciate it 🙏☺️.
