Yeah, Marvel removed the cigar from wolvies mouth in the true believers reprint of Marvel comics presents #1 a few years ago. Being an old fart I noticed it right away and mentioned it to the comic store employees, who of course were young and thought I was crazy. Had to bring in my original copy to show them the difference. Man, somedays I feel like Winston Smith from 1984 trying to tell folks about the past and the dreaded "Memoryhole". Love your videos Omar, God Bless and keep it up.

Just ordered this from CGN tonight. These issues came out a couple years before I started collecting comics as a kid. Excited to read these stories for the first time.
I've never read this stuff, but I really want this Omni. I'm still hoping we get Uncanny Vol. 5 (and possibly 6) at some point in the near future, but I and my wallet can wait!
@@mrwasi99 Yeah? I remember Omar saying once that there was possibly enough material for two omnis, but maybe that was before this was announced to be reprinted as an omni.
@@hamzadawud omnibus vol. 4 ends at 193 and this starts at 210. I can only see them fitting 1 other omnibus in between. And they need to do a vol. 5 to have that awesome storm vs cyclops issue for leader of the X-Men. Pure 80s goodness.
I'm with you Hamza,Also back when omar said that we didn't know the contents of Vol 4 yet. I think one more omni including the first handful of x-factor issues plus 194-210 plus maybe a annual or a few minis should tie up vol 5 and give us unbroken oversized Claremont X-Men.
Really looking forward to this one, Mutant Massacre is such a good story. Torn between the covers, they're both excellent. I hope when we finally get an Uncanny V.5 Omni that 201 is one of the covers. I mean, it's gotta be, powerless Mohawk Storm Vs. Cyclops, so classic. Thanks, Omar, great video, Happy Holidays.
Can't wait for this book to be released. It was one of my favorite storylines back in high school. Also looking forward to your review on The X-Men Omnibus Vol. 1 reissue Omar.
Very intriguing Omni! I'm sold! Just called and put in for the DM variant version of this... So many interesting character development aspects within this collection. It will be my first read-through of the story... :)
Pretty excited for this been collecting the Xmen omnis since I've started watching Omar. I think once have Mutants Massacre, Fall of Mutants and the eventual Uncanny vol 5. I'll be good on my xmen collection.

Very excited for this one to get to me... Mutant Massacre was my first "event", really. While I started reading X-Men in the middle of Secret Wars II, I didn't know what the heck was going on with that - it was a random issue, which did resonate with me (the characters) enough to suck me into their world. THIS, though, was what got me into the larger X-World and kept me following the exploits of the characters for decades.
What a beautiful mistake. I love stories like that. I already have the first printing of Mutant Massacre, but that Sabretooth and Wolverine is epic as fudge. The story you told adds more personal value, imo.
Remember when Omar was just getting reprints made, making Marvel Announcements and picking DM covers? Five years mapping Omnis now and he's still putting out videos. Still no Superman by Byrne Omni though.
All of x-factor is collected through all the uncanny omnis....if they print the first....I think 9 issues in uncanny x-men vol 5 x-factor will be collected in oversize from issue 1-72 or something like that peter david x-factor vol 2 should take it to issue 100 or more....also we have x-factor investigations announced as well.
I've had this preordered for so long now....awesome that is finally going to be on it's way to me soon...but now....should I wait for my copy of fall of the mutants.....I'm about to finish vol 4.....or should I skip it.....hmmm I may read my floppies since the fall isnt coming for several months and I'll almost definetly have vol 4 finished by then....
Looking forward to my copy, I'm guessing in January. I've read the X-Men issues but I've never read those miniseries with the fantastic four and avengers at the end that'll be fun.
The interior covers are inconsistent between direct and newsstand (PP was direct-only) and use framing for some, as they have since the OHC. No idea why.
I think it's mostly self explanatory if you're familiar with the x-men but if you have access to Marvel Unlimited you might want to start with Uncanny X-Men 200 or 201 and X-Factor 1.
Currently reading this omnibus, if I really wanted to continue onto The Fall of the Mutants omnibus, how necessary is it to read the Fantastic Four vs. the X-Men and X-Men vs. the Avengers issues?
Building on your comments, now that we have this book, both Infernos and the Fall of Mutants Omni coming soon, what do you think are the chances of a UXM Omni 5 to pick up all the previous issues prior to MM? Is there enough to warrant a Vol 5? Or does it need to be supplemented by specials, annuals, etc? Or does it jump and include things right before Claremont/Lee Vol1?
I bought the Milestones paperback version of the Mutant Massacre not too long ago. I don't think I liked it enough to justify the upgrade. Not when there are other books (Moon Knight, maybe Priest's Black Panther) that I could be trying out instead.
Ooooh! I think I must have a copy of this saga. Years ago, back in the 90's - I had purchased this event (a book of the whole complete saga) for $50 at one the local comic book [etc.] stores I frequented (that didn't have me taking the train from Queens into Manhattan to go to Midtown Comics in TimesSQ). Buuuut as you've noted; certain parts are missing in this - which is a HUGE PROBLEM for me (especially when $$ is being involved). This is STILL my ALL-TIME Fave saga of my Muties [albeit tieing up with The Phoenix Saga, Excutioner's Song, Age of Apocalpse, The Twelve]. =)
@@Grimlock987 I can't remember where I came across it (wikipedia maybe, so grain of salt) but there was a short blurb saying it was scheduled for Fall 2022. Fingers crossed.
