Thank you for providing this very important video and free PDF. I have been following you for a long time, and you have the most informative tech videos on TH-cam. Also, your presentation skills and speaking voice is great -- you should be on TV, especially with your beautiful eyes ;-) Love your Pride flag too! Visibility is important.

David, I believe you have just presented us with a new and important genre of TH-cam technical instruction with tremendous potential. Today’s smart devices are capable not only of enriching our lives, but of saving them. Respect to experts like yourself who are willing selflessly to show us how. Thank you.

As a senior who loves tech, memory has become an issue. So this video is so important not only for myself as well as members in our family who live miles away. So thanks for your time and concern.

Thank you David. We lost my mom in July and my dad is by himself. He called me and told me my uncle, who is also by himself, had fallen and it took him three hours to get to the phone to call for help. My dad resents the "I have fallen and can't get up," and doesn't want that type of an alert product. He has an IPhone and loves Siri. He knows how to use, "hey Siri," but has not set up find my, nor realized Siri could help him with this. This is huge and so appreciate the avenue for help for both of us without emphasizing negatively his aging. Thanks again!!

I just found this channel and although I am a frequent Siri user that was actually a tip on here that I didn’t know. As I am getting up in years myself and sometimes forget about my medicines the ability to take a picture of the correct medicine to add to my reminder is pretty awesome. Please continue to make Siri videos whenever new features calm especially those that benefit the elderly. I am programming my device now to do all the stuff that I hope not to forget but May. Thanks again. You have a new subscriber.

Once again, David, I owe you thanks, and will be sharing this widely. A close family member was Dx'd w/ Alzheimer's 15 years ago. Great job David I’m just starting as a career for my wife so I’m having to learn how to setup an iPhone and watch so that I can monitor her and she can make phone calls. I would have thought Apple should be thinking about this in the future.
A simple call for help could run a script and dial a carer on speaker automatically.
    Thanks for your efforts.

David, it’s been a while, good video as always. Here are a few more items for you to think about in a follow up video. Set up relationships in contacts so you can say things like, “Hey Siri, call my son”, “Hey Siri who am I”’, “Hey Siri, how do I get home”, ‘Hey Siri, show me where I am. (at this point you can share your location, etc. Another very important feature to make sure is filled out (you touched on it with the 911) is in the Health app (available on the iPhone and shared in sync but independent of the iPhone on the Apple Watch [a copy is kept on the watch and the phone does not need to be present] is the individuals MedicalID information. So, emergency personnel can easily get the name and age, medical conditions, Allergies & Reactions, medication, dosage of medicine, Blood Type, Height, Weight, Emergency Contacts doctors name, number, Relation name and numbers. (This is a must have for anyone to have filled out). The Fall Detection of the Apple Watch will also after calling 911 will call your Emergency Contacts with an auto message. I hope this helps if not you someone else reading this. I hope none of this will be necessary or needed to be used by your loved one or anyone’s loved one. Enjoy your time in Spain.

Interesting choice of the pill photo... but, uh, that's not a blood pressure medication. Although applied appropriately, it might conducir al embarazo. That said, these are all reminders that someone might keep on the back of a business card. Particularly the "...on speaker" appendix. Hugely helpful.

    G'day Dave
This video has me excited but frustrated as well.
In a perfect world, I'd GIVE my 98-year-old Mother-in-Law an iWatch, for its fall detect & speaker-phone emergency features alone. She’s recently had 2 falls that we know of, & she’s been super lucky that things worked out each time.
The next time may be very different, she could break her femur which commonly has a bad ending.
Thing is, she’s stubborn, a mule is a push-over compared to her.
I’ve been extremely patient in trying to convince her that new tech can actually make life easier for her, but she remains defiantly impervious to any suggestion of it.
Is there an app that I can load into her hearing aids while she’s asleep, that allows subliminal messages like “wouldn’t an iWatch be nice”?
It’s absolutely doing my head in, I’m 29 years younger, with health issues that she hasn’t experienced yet, & I’m the one that’s truly worrying about her.
