A LOT of people telling me that Lumos and Nox doesn't work for them... Apparently, if you change your phone's region to United Kingdom, it will work (you could of course set it right back after). Give it a try if this tip isn't working for you.

    • @stevereed3451

Lumos and Nox work fine for me and my region is set to United States.
I'm on 15.5 beta 3, so maybe they've updated it to include other regions.

I’ve found the issue. It’s not whether Siri is set to UK or US or whoever, it’s how you start Siri.
It won’t work if you hold down the multi-use button to summon Siri.
You have to have “listening for Hey Siri!” Enabled and say “Hey Siri, Lumos”
      YOU CAN ALSO SAY
“Hey Siri, Accio ‘Instagram’” and it’ll open Instagram or whatever app you say in ‘ ‘

    • @JonTanOsb

It worked for me. My region is Canada. But I had to say Lumos a few times to be understood.

When doing a task and I have something else to do in 36 mins, I just ask Siri to set a timer for 36 minutes and then I can focus on the task at hand. Also when following a recipe and I need the measurements in grams instead of ounces I simply ask Siri to convert the amount while my hands are full.

Siri saves me so much time, I can ask Siri to remind me when to get washing out of the machine, and if I’m making the evening meal, I just ask her to remind me when I need to do different parts of the prep… then go back to TH-cam.

Siri is greatly underused and yet it’s so versatile. One of my favourite uses is to ask “Siri what movies are showing at the moment” to check the local showtimes and get a rundown of movie options and even provides and plays the film trailers instantly. Tip: If you have misplaced your board game dice. “Siri roll a dice” and get the result as if you had rolled the dice yourself. Works for coin flipping also “Siri flip a coin”.
