Spreading the love for Geoff's (and VoicePlay's) music. I was collecting a grocery pickup last week while Geoff's "Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold" was playing over my car stereo. The young man loading my groceries commented about how great the song sounded, so I told him about Geoff's and VoicePlay's YT channels. He commented that he was a musician who did some arranging and recording himself. When I collected groceries this morning, the same guy was loading a pickup order into the vehicle parked next to mine. When he finished, he came over to thank me and said that I had really started something for him. He's plunged headfirst down my favorite rabbit hole. Thanks for all you do and for pointing out the tracks were not in use, most people do not realize that if your back is toward an oncoming train you would not hear it before it hits you and it takes miles to stop a train.
Trains are incredibly loud, the ground rumbles when they approach, and the conductors honk the horn incessantly, particularly near residential areas. A train is not going to sneak up on you unless you are deaf and also not paying attention. At least in America. Speed rail is a whole different animal, but those don't exist in America.

Beautiful rendition of that classic song!! You mention railroad tracks. By God's grace I am here today because when I was a toddler we lived next to railroad tracks. Fortunately these tracks only lead to a paper mill. One day my mother heard a knock on the door and when she answered she saw a man in a typical engineers outfit and behind him stopped on the tracks was a large train. He was carrying a small child in his arms and was asking if this child belonged to her. She turned pale as it was me and the engineer told her he saw me playing on the tracks and barely had time to stop the train to keep from hitting me. I've known and heard of many people who got hit by trains who aren't with us today but for some reason God saw fit to keep me around. Like you said, don't walk on railroad tracks.

This is now my favorite part of the whole song, hands down. Lovely, evocative language. And of course beautifully arranged and sung. 💙 Also, I'm really curious about what "it" is in "I can feel it like a bullet." The man's sin? His soul? The ghosts in his head? Something else? The more I think about it, the more I appreciate how mind-blowingly well-written this is. The idea of a person's sin or soul painfully lodged inside them like a bullet. 🤯 Incredible imagery.

"Now now now take me to the water / let me wash my sin away. / Oh I been traveling down this road / and how my soul has gone astray! / I can feel it like a bullet / no matter where I tread. / All my days I have been runnin'/ from these ghosts within my head!"
This is now my favorite part of the whole song, hands down. Lovely, evocative language. And of course beautifully arranged and sung. 💙
Also, I'm really curious about what "it" is in "I can feel it like a bullet." The man's sin? His soul? The ghosts in his head? Something else? The more I think about it, the more I appreciate how mind-blowingly well-written this is. The idea of a person's sin or soul painfully lodged inside them like a bullet. 🤯 Incredible imagery.
Outdoing himself with every new arrangement. Simply marvellous.
Looking forward to it! There's been quite a few twists and turns for you in your quest to perfect this one and am glad the rest of the world is going to get a chance to see this!
Where did Geoff come from and where has he been all these years? Why are they (voice play) not all over the radio!
We ain't here to cut a record. We're MASS communicatin!
This is my husband’s favorite song. I can not wait to hear this!!
Again he sang all four parts. What an incredible voice!
Pretty amazing vocal range. Even his effective range is broader than many established and older singers. A pleasure to listen to.
Wow! Thanks Geoff...(and company...😉)
OUT OF THIS GALAXY! Love how you harmonize with yourself. Geoff, your range of low to high notes is incredible! BRAVO!
The other day I heard “Lovin, Touching, Squeezing “ by Journey and thought ‘What if Geoff took that tune down into the basement and tinkered with it. Pretty sure the ladies would enjoy it!
You won't be getting any "haterade" for that bridge from me, Geoff. That bridge actually is my favorite part of the song ❤❤
Mine too 😁
Same. 😁
Yep, I’m obsessed with that bridge! Sooo good!
I love the electric guitar spinkled in, gives it a touch of rock.
OUTSTANDING. Love how you harmonize with yourself. Geoff, your range of low to high notes is incredible. BRAVISSIMO!
A brigde is a useful thing to connect with each other 👌🏽. We need more bridges and more songwriting from you!
Yes!
i'm glad for the PSA at the end it is needed
Geoff, you are a man of miracles. The songs you sing turn into miracles with your voice!
I loved the perfect arrangement and unique interpretation. .
The refreshing voice of a sorrow man swept across the blue grass of Kentucky like a sweet wind. 🙏🍃🍃❤❤

I can literally listen to Geoff sing all day long and never get tried of it! So good!
