We know Lyane Stein is a light lyric baritone ( combination) don’t know if one subtype he is, don’t know what type of baritone is Cesar de la Rosa, we know that Geoff is a bass- baritone ( also one subtype of baritone)
If I had to choose one word to describe this it would be “balanced”. Nothing overshadows anything else because it is all so good. Everyone nails their parts; Caesar and Eli on top, J being the heart at the center, Layne’s vocals and insane vocal percussion, and Geoff holding down the bass line.
Layne you sneaky devil....I was of course expecting an awesome drum/perc arrangement to to honor this classic, and I got that, but.....LAYNE! You sang solo! And I was amazed at how it fit the song perfectly! For the love of banana-splits, son, please SING MORE!!! We demand it! Anyone else agree?

When I heard Pentatonix, I thought “Wow! This is it!”… then VoicePlay happened onto my recommendation timeline… Having been heavily involved in Barbershop Chorus in my younger years, I know a little bit about quality harmony. For those of you complaining that the drum riff was missing a beat or two or whatever, I think you’re missing the point of Voiceplay. It was obviously an ARTISTIC CHOICE as they aren’t just covering songs, they’re creating musical masterpieces with their own creative twists. I’m Gen X, a huge Phil Collins fan and I absolutely love what they did with this song! They not only showed mad respect to him but made it their own and it’s perfection!!

This song is completely amazing. Valhalla Calling stunned me with its epicness, but this song has completely left me stunned from its beauty. From low to high, or in Voiceplay terms, Geoff to Eli, this song checks every box. Cesar beautifully rocks it, Eli goes to the heavens and destroys it, J. None absolutely slays the lead, Layne proves to us that he swallowed a drum kit as a child, and Geoff does Geoff. He goes to the core of the earth and finds the tectonic plates and shakes them.
