100 shot with tune and you'll be just fine. I've seen people with rts do 150 with tune with no issues but I'd do 100 or 125. Also do weight reduction for races, everything in trunk, backseats and passenger seat if you're alone. Helps so much, I do it and it drops a lot of weight and you can feel it.
MOEpar 345 I might have to try that but really don’t want to go through all the trouble lol, I’m trying to keep it a daily drivable race car so that’s means keeping everything in it and as for the nitrous I might do it but I’m still thinking about it 😬

The gears would help, but if you would’ve been able to change the gears yourself at a higher rpm then letting the car do it automatically you probably would’ve been way much closer. Also a 93 tune is a bit better, yea it’s not a huge difference in hp but hey when we drive a boat any hp helps.
If you take out the spare and jack in your truck it will help with weight reduction.

I have 14 charger rt w/ 373 gears, 93 octane tune, highflow cats, cai, magnaflow exhaust, and long tubes. I eat 5.0s all day

I drive a full bolt on and tuned 2004 Azure Blue Mach 1 mustang.......I absolutely love the RT challengers.........but I do not fear them......even with bolt ons......the 5.0 is a different animal!!!!
Sounds like 🧢 to me lol, you'd need to be making about 400whp to have a chance with with a 2nd gen Coyote and and about 440whp to beat a 3rd gen... You're not making that kinda power with those mods, hell an RT only makes 430whp with an eddlebrock supercharger on 6psi lol
If you can swap to a smaller lighter battery if you can that's a weight reduction
What all you got done to your car? Cause if you have a cam and all he has is exhaust, you should be winning all day against him

I have a cam & longtube headers bro but like @the fitness life said I think I need more due to the weight difference between me and the mustang and also some better gears would help me out!

Well I said it before and I'll say it again just got my R/T Charger the black top Edition no Basic RT with chrome in the front was just waiting for this mustang to roll up on me today and don't care V6 or not so I slowed down so they can catch up and then rammed it twice so slowed down again so they can catch up and wasn't even on Sport mode never even hit that thing yet and then rammed it again they just weren't going to try they knew what's up and just gave me two thumbs up lol like come on man you know you're mustang ain't shit lol had to after reading about this and that on TH-cam gotta love it Dodge Baby they were like I'm not even going to try and get beat

Dodge should be slapped for down tuning the 5.7s so much . shame ford can squeeze more power out a 5.0 than dodge can do with a 5.7
No TRAP MUSIC you have to remember the 5.0 is dohc that’s why they can achieve better power, not to mention these rts come with some terrible gears
Dodge purposely underpowered the RT because they have SRT AN SCATPACKS for high performance
