    For a NA setup shorter gear is the preference... But when you start making a lot of power that can work against you. Especially if you have to shift.

      The shift won't hurt you much as long as you do it fast enough. But the Trans is geared aggressive which is the only reason either gear is anywhere near enough on a coyote na or otherwise.

      @@Jack-ox9iz buddy Roberto is max effort n/a once you go booster you’re going to have to go with longer gears because you want to stay in the meat of the powerband with less shifting trust me I know this my second gen 1 and I run 3.15s and I put a couple cars on equally modded boosted 5.0’s if you’re going to stay n/a then get 3.73 but if you’re going bloated look into 3.31-3.15s because you’re going to run out of gear and be in OD

      @@StreetRacingHaven I appreciate the info. I'm not much of a racer and I just want to have fun with the car. I was thinking 3.55s would be a good compromise, but I'm not sure. • @StreetRacingHaven

      @@Jack-ox9iz no problem , I just try to save people money even though those cars have the same mods at that point it’s all based on the tune. Whomever car is dialed in the most will win with similar mods also some cars react differently even if they have the same setup. If you have any questions make sure you contact the tuners as well because they can definitely help you on that type of situation. If having fun is your moto I would go for a whipple twin screw supercharger or a tvs supercharger like a vmp or roush setup if you want instant torque to play with on the streets and track.

      No it's just one car has a good gear for his setup the other one doesn't. That setup needs a 373 gear and it's gonna eat with one as seen here. It's also manual vs manual. The 373 guy might be driving better too who knows. When it's manual va manual driver actually matters in the race unlike these auto cars.

  • @umiringains

      Im sure it’s due to the torque multiplication and horsepower combined causing the gear to either stretched or like halfway bottomed out. Either way maximum output might bias to either

  • @midnight347
    @midnight347 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The 331 car is getting the ideal start with those higher rolls. The 373 car on a tire would pull away easier from a lower speed like 1st gear hit.

      I'd say the other way around. The higher numerically the gear the shorter it is. NA you want short gears to get through them quicker and stay in the "narrow" power band. With boost you can extend each gear because of all the extra power/torque. That's why most really fast cars run a 2 speed glide. You don't need the torque multiplication when you have enough torque.

      Yall experts are clueless. They're both lightened. It's also manual vs manual the drivers are very much a part of this race. Maybe 373 guy outdrove 331 guy. You have no idea how much difference gearing can make. On these high revving max effort na setups in particular. These aren't bone stock cars you can't treat them as if they are. On a stock car there may not be this same difference because a stock car won't benefit from those gears the way these cars will. That's why blanket statements like yours don't make sense. Just like saying intakes don't do anything. Yea on a bone stock car they prob don't. Once you're flowing more air they absolutely make more power when you upgrade it.

    Well, fact is, if you can turn the rpm and it sticks, it doesn't matter! Literally had 4.10s in the GT500 @ 670rwhp. Have 4.10s in the Boss 302 @ 600rwhp, and have 4.10s in my Fox @ 770ish rwhp... Also got 3.73s in a 2v @ 600rwhp.
    The difference? RPM. The valve train is built for it and the heads and intake flow well there w/ the cam combo... Every car named has a MINIMUM of 7500rpm, Boss highest at 8400rpm.
    So that there is most people's problem!! Trying to turn rpm on stock valve trains/factory limited combos. Need proof? Look at Rotary engines and Hondas.... Hell any non American engine in general usually turns more rpm.
