  • We live in a time when any successful film or show seems destined to someday be remade, but why? Why does it rarely work? And what's different when it does?
Thanks for joining, and please share your thoughts in the comments! I don't know when my next video will be uploaded since college starts again for me this week, but it will be one I've been working on for a while, so I'm looking forward to sharing it!

Evil Dead 2013 will forever be the best remake

John Carpenter's The Thing and The Fly imo are better.
Alien is a loose remake of IT The Terror From Space.

Does everyone forget the live action 101 Dalmatians from the 90s?

@@gcell10 Yeah, I kinda did forget that exists. I'm not saying Disney's thing for live-action remakes is a totally new idea, but it has become a trend for some reason lately.

I'm not really sure if this is related to the video topic, but this kind of reminded me of an idea for, believe it or not, a Pokémon Scarlet and Violet story I've been mulling over. You don't have to reply if you're not interested 😅.

@@atlus6772 Well, I don't want you to think I'm not interested, I really appreciate the interaction and love hearing others' thoughts and ideas. I will say, though, that I know little to nothing but the barest basics about Pokémon. Feel free to share anything you've worked on and are excited about, but I wouldn't have much to judge it on if you're looking for a fellow Pokémon fan to share with. Again, thanks for the comment and for wanting to share!

@@justthinkingoutloud2538 It's honestly less about the "pokemon-ness" of it all and more about themes of love and obsession.

@atlus6772 Like I said, feel free to share anything with me you think I'd appreciate, as long as you understand I may not be remotely as familiar with that world and story as you. I'd love to hear what you love and are excited about!

I did not like Ghostbusters Afterlife or Frozen Empire.

@anubusx I have not seen either, but they seem like they fall into the weird camp of homages that have nothing original to say, yet manage to be respectful to the original, so they're pointless yet effective fan service that I'm not sure how to feel about. Like I mentioned in the video, I plan on making a video describing the different kinds of legacy sequels, and I may mention those movies as examples
