Just built a motor out of random spare parts. I learned a ton getting that thing built and running. Now I'm feeling more confident about building a bigger/better motor. Huge amount of satisfaction when it runs, you just want to stand there and look at it "see, I did it!!!"
man the sh$t that spewed out of that exhaust when it started up from slumber. Vee Dubb!! Question, do you torque the Gland Nut to a spec or just use the impact wrench (with spec or no spec?)
The impact guns I have are capable of pretty high torque, so in many cases I just use that. In certain cases, sometimes I’ll zip it and check with a torque wrench afterwards
I love the look of surprise when it ran so well .don't you just love air cooled.
Nice job. I love the sound of good old Vw engines
Starts, runs, revs and idles who could ask for more!
That sounds pretty good actually LOL
You just have that touch
sounds really good…
8:46 They probably used Bolts on the back (Front) of the engine and Nuts on the other side.

Likely not a U.S. market though? Brazilian I’d imagine
Yes, almost certainly a Brazilian market engine.
my guess was Brazil also but where is your data from? @@matthewchambers3584
Ain't that a kick? All used parts and it runs better than some stuff with tons of new parts and money, LOL! Nice job Sir!
Fix the exhaust leaks, replace the pushrods tube seals, and you got a good spare engine on stand by.👍

Brazilian F block?
Could be! I can’t find any one else with the same serial though. I’d expect at least one other “what the else is this?” Post on the samba, nothing!
Let her run with an oil pressure gauge on it….. I’d be interested to see what it does cold vs hot especially with that thick oil in it.
Me too 😂 also a little terrified.
Isn't it great when everything goes your way? Go buy a lottery ticket right now!!🎟
😅👍
