Centipedes are quite juicy, not surprised some of it’s body fluids leached into the vodka. The alcohol also preserves them. All in all just another weird gimmick.
Ciara is a trooper... Cast iron stomach on that one... Dermot, held up great too... I was just plain grossed out... Great video!

FYI, that Bamboo Worm is the larval form of another insect, aka, a juvenile, so it’s not sexually mature, so it’s pretty much impossible for there to be eggs in it. No such guarantees on the other invertebrates in this video, but even if there were, they’d be thoroughly pickled, so you wouldn’t have to worry about them hatching inside you.

It’s funny how a bug in someone’s soft drink or food is a health code violation for a restaurant and then there are just companies purposely putting bugs/arachnids/etc into their drinks (& lollipops) and it’s not a health code violation 😂
I'm betting it has more to do with where the insect has been BEFORE it got into the drink that really matters.

Reminds me of having dinner at a restaurant in Tijuana, Mexico and they wheeled out a little table with a giant glass dispenser filled with tequila and a rattlesnake in the bottom. That night ended up being amazing and crazy in things both negative and positive.
The best story's start with is ate the worm in TJ and don't Rember much after. And WHY do if have a tattoo.

I had not quite got that far...
It was suggested once that the bottles are two pieces and the scorpion get dropped into the bottom piece then the two halfs are glued together and heat sealed. But dont quote me as that's just what I was told.

I was looking to see if someone had asked, or I was going to. I can only imagine they let them live in the bottle from youth until adulthood. Or they use a hammer to smash them in the bottle and then send in a very small veterinarian to render medical care. And since I would like to see the little doctor, I'm going with that one.
I've consumed scorpion before, but only in a lollipop. Probably couldn't manage the rest of these honestly.
There was a record store near me that sold scorpion, mealworm and tarantula lolipops/suckers. Won $100 from my friends because they all said I'd vomit after all 3. Had to hold it back for half an hour. lol.
Honestly, scorpion tastes pretty similar to crab. I can see why it's a delicacy in many places.

So as a Entomologist i can state as a fact scorpions are Arthropods not within the insect family but in the Arachnida family class like Spiders and 65,000 others !

Here in Texas, scorpions are the #1 bug used in cuisines, novelty candies, drinks, and such. The second is that worm thats found in the Tequila bottle. After that, it's rattlesnake, which isn't a bug, but for cuisine and food related items, it's popular.

to those asking how they got the scorpion in the bottle, it was probably rolled tightly on a piece of cloth (arranged in a way that stretches it without breaking body parts) until the diameter matches the bottle opening. then inserted carefully into the opening. once all in, the cloth is shaken until the critter falls off.
at least that's how we did it, not sure if they used the same process here.
I used to have an Emperor Scorpion as a pet for years. Coolest pet ever. Never stung anyone who picked it up.

I’m pretty sure those centipedes are Giant Peruvian centipedes. We had those in Caribbean and they are terrifying. They eat snakes, bats, birds and will actively try to attack to. Cheers to you for trying that!

From what I understand, Scorpions being in the Arachnid family, along with things like Crabs and Lobsters, tend to have a sweet tasting flesh. This is true of spiders as well, as larger spiders like tarantulas are cooked and eaten by us wacky humans in some countries.
