"You absolute bastard." and "You're such a prick." are hands down my favorite parts of this video because it's rare that Ciara actually reacts to anything you throw at her on this channel. This is the Ciara we've always suspected was actually buried beneath the perpetually pleasant exterior. Now if there wasn't an immediate alcohol followup to this video I agree with everything Caira said about you Colin.
Callyann's anxiety contrasting with Thomas's levelness is a fun watch.
Dried tarantula is a horror in itself, but you went and found pickled, soggy, wet tarantula?! I would have flipped the plate on the floor.

Tarantula was served at Der Bratskeller,a restraunt in LA years ago. My friend ordered it and these little octopuses for me. I didnt know it though and when the plates came the little guys were placed standing up on their legs. I just looked at them for some time before she placed one up to my mouth to eat.
I only ate them because it cost her an arm and a leg(no pun intended).She shared them with me,...thank God.

I was already freaked out by the brine dripping from the tarantula but the "it squirted in my mouth" took me out 🤣
Because they ate it raw and not cooked, the package clearly said it needed to be cooked.
Please tell me others noticed that the tarantula packet says “brined and ready to be cooked”….. and he just put it on the plate raw and said: yeah it’s brined, like pickled, go for it.

To be clear: Space Balls is the Star Wars parody that included the dancing chestburster, which was derived from One Froggy Evening via Alien. I probably could have worded it more succinctly.
The layers of pop culture actually go a lot deeper than indicated in my original post, but I just dashed off the abridged/contemporary version so as to not be too obtuse, pedantic and dryly historical....but I'm afraid you've poked the (old) bear now.
As a Journalism and Broadcasting major about 1980, I wrote at least one paper about the historic, musical and media influences on selected Looney Tunes cartoons, including One Froggy Evening, It included the Vaudeville and earlier film origins of the music and charactres, (look into Eubie Blake's music and the film Once Upon A Time some time), with special emphasis on the musical work of Milt Franklyn and Carl Stalling at Warner's, as well as discussion of the animators, including Chuck Jones and Mike Maltese.
"WAY" before the frog was even named Michigan, he was a one-shot charactre in the original1955 Warner Bros. cartoon which was titled One Froggy Evening. Chuck Jones, the director and lead animator of the short, said in interviews that he came up with the name Michigan J. Frog (after the song's line "Everybody loves the Michigan Rag", which he co-wrote) some time in the 70's. The frog wasn't really officially named Michigan.J. until the 90's, after the release of the sequel called Another Froggy Evening, and when the WB began to use him as a mascot.

I needed this laugh so much today. My husband passed away last year and he is the one that drove the grandbabies around for trick or treat. So it's not been a good night but this made me laugh til I cried

@@AnthonyClarkPaladin Actually, I want to figure out a way to send regional American hamburgers to the channel. You know, ones that have not been picked up by the big chains. Just the SIGHT of Missouri's Guberburger, which has peanut butter smeared atop the patty, would convince Dermot that Americans put peanut butter on EVERYTHING (and we do, so beware. )
I also think the hamburgers should be of Beyond Beef, so we can get the vegetarians in on this too. I wanna see Lolsy sample Pennsylvania's Fluff Screamer, which has beef, pickles, onions, hot sauce and big dollop of MARSHMALLOW FLUFF the size of a tennis ball on a bun (and I am dead serious.) Unless I am badly mistaken, Lolsy loves marshmallow fluff and the conflicting emotions between that love and the righteous disgust of the Screamer in general, would make for an incredible look.
Just Niall's reaction to the NAME of Mississippi's slugburger has opportunities that are priceless.

For arachnids and insects...it's basically just the exoskeleton, since nearly all of these packaged ones overcook them. Fried scorpion is quite delicious, especially when you season it or even smoke it.
I actually recommend going to a restaurant where they specialize in this. If you're going to experience eating weird stuff, at least have it prepared well.

The tarantula bag says "roast, fry, or boil" but they ate them plain and right out of the bag.... I wonder if they would have been better if you made some tarantula soup, tarantula nachos, or maybe tarantula tacos... just an idea for a future episode.

Before I even began to watch this, I thought that Callianne was going to be the stand out in the video but it was Grianne's eyes during the tarantula segment that was the memorable moment for me.

The thing about eating insect/spiders in your sleep is just an urban legend, there is no real basis of truth to it.
This is the most shook up I've ever seen Ciara... she can drink 199 proof grain alcohol and say "It's grand", but squeals like a 3rd grader when someone drops a scorpion in front of her... We may have found her kryptonite!

Just had a story out yesterday from England and they say it is a myth that you eat spiders in your sleep. 1) they do not like damp places that are dark 2) there is to much CO2 expelled and they could not breathe so they will not go there.Also I have eaten bugs in Jr High School in California. It was part of the science class after school program. We all contributed $2 a month to the program and at the end of the year we had a "FEAST" and actually whale blubber is kind of good as I remember (this was 62 years ago) chocolate covered ants were really not to bad nor were sweet and sour roasted cockroaches --- and YES we did eat all these and more
My mom drilled into my brothers and I to at least try new things so I always have. I used to work with a girl who's husband was Canadian. She went on vacation to Canada (I think it was Newfoundland but I'm not sure) to visit her husband's family. She brought back a home canned jar of seal for me. It was grey and jiggly. I just couldn't...
I went to Jr High in California in 64, but all I remember of science class was the horror of having to dissect a frog. 😱 On the other hand, I have had frogs legs and they do indeed taste like chicken 😂
I pride myself in being able to eat most things, but that for me is just, well no words for it.

The best thing about these masochistic videos is how authentic it makes everyone. There's no bits. It's pure revulsion, fear, and anger.
The 5 spiders a year thing was actually a social experiment from the early days of the internet to see how quickly something can spread. You dont actually eat 5 spiders on average in your sleep per year.
Immediately paused the video to scroll the comments and see if anyone mentioned this; it’s not just untrue, it’s a story SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED to see how quickly the internet can spread something that’s completely made up. Very quickly and well, it turns out, haha

What is the funniest part to me is how Callyann was unintelligible to American audiences for at least half the video. The crawlies brought out ALL of the Irish in her!!
YES!! But I did understand when she said "I'M THAT GIRL! I'M BLONDE, I'M WEARING A PURPLE JUMPER, AND I'M SQUIRMING TO FUCK!" and I may NEVER have laughed as hard as I did in that moment!!
Ah, c'mon now...Irish accents can be quite easy to pick up (unless it's like deep-country Irish). Of course, it's all about exposure to the accent (like most languages and accents)...I'm in Illinois, but I've watched plenty of shows from the isles (Blackadder, Chef, Father Ted, Vicar of Dibley, Mulberry, etc.), so the accents aren't too hard to understand
