multiplayer games are only good if u have friends to play them with so i have to agree, single player games are better for my experience so i like them better
I love multiplayer. But only on stuff that it's not mandatory to have. For instance destiny I love the games but I wish I could solo strikes or raids that it didn't have to be multiple people only if you wanted it to be. That's the multi player I like.
Plus, people always find ways to hack and cheat in multiplayer and basically make it pointless. I get a lot of invulnerable invaders in Dark Souls and the first Red Dead online was pretty good until it was torn apart by cheaters... People suck 😂
Don't worry Rob, I too love the DmC reboot I loved the story, gameplay, art style, and Dante's edgy attitude was just brilliantly well done So to all haters out there, get rekt scrubs!!!
Truth, Sekiro forces you to improve. You can't just grind out souls to make thinks easier, Sekiro is my new favorite From Soft game. You had a good run Bloodborne.

I finished sekiro twice and love the game. But it is quite easy especially if you master deflections early on. Dark Souls is harder in my opinion, but overall all soulsborne games aren't extremely hard they just are "harder" than other games
not if you read the books before, triss betrays geralt and leaves him to get killed while yennefer does the imposible to return to him and find Ciri. in the game both characters are well written
Depending on which souls game it is, you have so many mechanics to break the game, heavy armor, shields (&stability), sorceries, pyromancy, early weapon upgrades, op early weapons such as the drake sword / zweihander / black knight weps etc, weapons movesets - that Zwei r2 tho, pancakes for days, summoning - i'm sure there are more. The main thing is - you don't know any of these off the bat, you you need to explore and experiment, when you do - and when you discover something strong, you can mostly just roflstomp through the game.
@@Houldey Dark souls is just a different kind of difficult. its the "Knowledge" kind of difficult. every enemy attack, every enemy weakness, all the loot locations and how to build your character all play a part. sekiro is pattern recognition and reaction time difficult. I will say that dark souls can be made much harder through the in game systems than sekiro can be though.
@@Houldey i'm a veteran souls player and i still say dark souls is an easy game even though i have never beaten the original game because i suck at 3 of the 4 bosses required to get to the kiln of the 1st flame (i can beat seath but i refuse to until i cut his tail and i'm failing at that, i hate the tomb of the giants so i can't even get to nito to fight him and the four kings area/boss i just can't beat i have trouble with the area and then when i get to the boss i suck at fighting them) and finally my Controversial Gaming Opinion is that the bed of chaos is an easy boss that i had no trouble with at all almost killing her 1st try ever if i hadn't got cocky and slow walked and died to her pillar attack just b4 delivering the final blow (don't ask for proof cause idk if i still have the recording or not)
I guess you can only compare difficulty to other games. By most games standards I'd say Dark Souls is a "hard game" because it doesn't go out of it's way to guide you in any way. People are a bit conditioned to expect games to explain every detail up front, but Dark Souls expects you to _learn_ ... It's a rare thing in games and I think that's partly why I love it! Yet to play Sekiro, but I can't wait 😉
Rosie and Elle are really good additions to the crew. I really appreciate both of their passion and knowledge of games! Didn't know Rosie knew so much about Tekken.
Birth By Sleep is the best KH game, the combat was fluid, story had a beginning middle and end that all made good sense. It had Axel when he was baby Lea. 10/10 game
BBS was amazing because it had the three different stories so it was like getting 3 games in 1, but they all led to the same place which I found amazing. Story alone, yeah BBS is my favorite, but combat I have to give it to KH2 because I found the melding of commands to get abilities (second chance, leaf bracer, combo plus, etc) to be annoying. (Also Terra was the hardest character to play as combat wise)
if it wasn't for kh3 taking the top spot recently i'd agree birth by sleep is the best, great stories great secret ending and imo the best combat the series has
@@evelyndavis5000 i have to agree terra was the hardest of the 3 to play but he was designed to be that way so when u started ven and aqua's story u had a much easier time with the game, i beat terra's story on the hardest difficulty and it was a nightmare and pushed me to lower the difficulty for ven and aqua's stories
Unpopular opinion: Final Fantasy VIII is actually a brilliant FF game and deserves a remaster. Also, the devs should reverse their story stance and embrace the R=U fan theory in the remaster, because it works!!!
I like FF8. I actually owned it back on the ps1. My only complaints are that some places get locked in the end game and the magic junction system. Juction was a really cool concept but I never wanted to use magic because of it so that made it an attack grind most of the time (especially with those harder to obtain magic like Holy and Ultima)
Great game, it was unfortunate to come out in between VI, VII and IX because at any other stage it's a standout entry to the series. I think the focus on the love story made the rest of your party feel like an afterthought and the scene where they discover they're all secret best friends is where it lost me and a lot of people.
I don't really think that's unpopular. Most Facebook posts from Square Enix these days are absolutely filled with people begging for an FFVIII remaster.
I agree! I didn't even mind the slow build-up of the story and that you only don the assassin's outfit somewhere in the 6th sequence... Also, my favorite combat system... Fast and fluid!
Assassins creed 3 is easily one of the best ac games in part by its amazing combat animations and it’s protaginist. The only reason people hated hm was he had the misfortune of being the first new protagonist after ezio. but I think his brutish persona was a breath of fresh air after 3 games with our charming Italian assassin. Any mimic of him would have fallen flat.
Connor is my second favourite Assassin after Ezio. Being an introvert I related to Connor's more reserved personality and really appreciated that we didn't just get Ezio 2.0
Have to agree with Rob on DmC. I was totally down on it when the first looks landed, but when I played it I loved it. In my mind it's Ninja Theory's best game.
Triss is the unacceptable one? Nope. Sorry. The way that Yen treats Geralt is unacceptable. She treats him like a dog to be kicked and cast aside and if she doesn't get her way she sulks like a child. Triss, on the other hand, is genuine and warm. While she is definitely guilty of playing games with Geralt (as women do to men), she is nowhere near the same league as Yen on that account. Not hating on anyone for your opinion, just giving you mine in a slightly aggravated way haha
Yennifer and Geralt play word games for fun. It's what they do as lovers. Geralt is not a soft man. He immediately fights back with words if yen insults him for fun. They have been lovers for decades. They are like old couples.
Triss definitely seems like a better character in the games if you've never read the books. With an understanding of the books, the situation in the games and how Triss acts are pretty weird (especially in the first game). Triss is much more open and honest about things in the 3rd game, but the way that the relationships were handled in the games was ultimately just weird. They basically wrote out Geralt's official love interest (having pretty much everyone ignore her existence) and then wrote her back in later, making the whole thing pretty messy. In general though, it seems like folks who read the books first are more likely to be Yennefer fans, whereas those who played the games first are more likely to be Triss fans.

I never read the books or even played any of the games before that looked up on the wiki what their relationships were. Basically got that Yennifer and Geralt are pretty much the mother and father to Ciri having raised her pretty much. That Geralt and Yennifer were deeply in love with each other even when they went their own ways they would always end up back together down the road. And that the only reason Geralt even got with Triss was mostly due to losing his memory. The whole parent thing meant very little to me. Seeing how at that point Ciri was already an adult. And by the ending being parents to her is pretty much a mute point. Seeing how she either disappears at the end. Or becomes a Witcher on her own or becomes empress. While Geralt and whoever you chose just end up living alone together. Or at least I figure that is how both sides end. Never picked Triss once so not sure if her ending with Geralt is like the same them just settling down together like it is with the Yennifer ending.

@@devinleff8035 Oh, the grind. I've killed the shinobi at the top of Hirata castle after the Divine Dragon fight about 300 times in NG +3 and still have 17 skill points to earn. I'm starting to feel bad for them. It's like they've been sent to some sort of video game hell where their fate is to be murdered over and over and over and over again by a bored looking player deity just after their xp. I don't even fight most of them head on because stealth kills are quicker. I think this officially makes me a monster, but then again... platinum.

Regarding Yennefer or Triss, it all depends on how you roleplay as Geralt and whether you see him as "just a book version" or, possibly, as something more than that for you as a player.
I agree! I hadn't read the books.I played the trilogy and Tries was my main focus...when it wasn't Shani... Anyway yen comes in third game and I'm like "but I don't know you and you are just mean and Triss is so much more supportive than you are."
@@DoGoodCrochet Yeah, I understand. The whole point of a videogame and an RPG as a genre is to make your own decisions. That is the MAIN point of these games. Books are a different form of medium for telling stories and in Witcher games you can and should be able to decide what choice works best for you or what you believe is the best choice for Geralt.
Only played the games and Triss was always supportive. Yennefer was just mean and manipulative, I could not stand her. She also makes choices that I consider very much on the evil spectrum. Triss all the way.

This gets even more clear when you come back to corvo bianco und they have this lovely conversation in which she opens her Heart to Geralt. So even though she seems to be toxic in the beginning, to ne she is the better and more loyal decision. So I totally go with Elle and Rob 😅
Yeah, I thought it was a great game...I'm glad it didn't replace the original series but I did really enjoy DMC; I loved the kind of surreal art direction they went with for the demon world. DMC 3 is still my favourite though.
the problem was never the game itself it was the portrayal of dante gameplaywise, it was a good game, and yeah the music was pretty good i think if it had NOT been a dmc game, but had been something else people would have loved it, or even if they had portrayed dante differently but to me and i think to a lot of others, dante was an unlikeable character,
The game was good but I couldn't stand dante. After having a complete badass dante for the other games (especially 3) that version of him was just bad imo. Gameplay and all that was up there. I just think that if they hadn't named him dante and it wasnt an actual dmc game people might have liked it better but comparisons will always be there
Two controversial opinions: 1) none of the tekken series holds the title of best fighter. I grew up playing them and absolutely loved them, but when I finally played my first soul calibur (3 I think?) I realised it was just so much better. The chronicles of the sword mode made it particularly great by actually adding a reasonable story for you to follow. 2) Battle royals are terrible. They're like an FPS with a multiple minute respawn timer where you spend half of the time 'playing' just trying to find an enemy
SCII and III were excellent, though Chronicles of the Sword I seem to remember having some of the longest load times i'd ever experienced and it definitely sucked away some of the enjoyment. I also adore the combat in SCVI, for me it's just as fun as II and III overall.

I so agree. Yen just made me so angry whenever she interacted with Geralt. It felt so toxic, I couldn't choose her. I got way too much pleasure from turning her down.
I actually loved arguing with Yen. That scene in Kaer Morhen where she portals you in a lake. Come back and the way Geralt continues the argument is pure gold
my brother (15 at the time) finished both and continued playing it to try get everything else in the game whilst knowing we had tons of other brilliant games waiting.

Ok the only difference between Yen and Triss is that Yen doesn't bother hiding how manipulative and self serving she can be. Triss saw that her BEST FRIEND'S boyfriend had amnesia and decided that she was going to sleep with him. That is incredibly shady. Plus the Yennifer romance gets really good if you put some work into it.
I agree with Rob, I didn't even know who Merigold was to Geralt, so I just sent her on the boat and stuck w/ Yen. That sidequest at the end with Yen was amazing My opinions (dunno if they are objectable) Prototype 1 and Watch Dogs 1 are better than their sequels
The thing is Elle, I'd choose Triss over any one. The only reason I went with Yennifer was I wanted to see what happened on my second play through. But for lore reasons I see your point.

Yes Rosie! Tekken Tag Tournament really is the best Tekken! The music, the cutscenes, the everything! Though 5 and 3 are good runners up. Tag had such a good soundtrack, I always listen to it even now. I remember being scared of the final boss, "Unknown", when I was a child. She had such creepy music.
Yen didn't show she actually cared until after I committed to Triss. She seemed a really unhealthy choice until the boat scene. I was actually kinda heartbroken and knew I couldn't go back on it. Why Yen why couldn't you let down your thorny walls before it was too late! Also yes TTT and DmC are the best!
Have played the game 5 times all the way threw and have never once gone with Triss despite the fact that in every other game that has romance options I always replay them and go with a different romance option each time like in Persona 5. Big reason I feel like I can only ever pick Yennifer is due to the fact that they raised a child together. Are basically soul mates even when the go their own way they always end up back together at some point. And then Triss only ever got with Geralt because he lost his memory and Triss never even told him about what had happened to him. She never mentioned ohh yea you know you love this women called Yennifer and you both were captured by the Wild Hunt and IDK what happened to her but its fine lets not bother trying to find her. Because knows my chance to have you.

I loved DmC, it's so much fun to play and the art style was so vibrant. my unpopular opinion is: the Kingdom Hearts series is not that hard to follow. a lot of people will tell newcomers that it's super complicated and nonsensical but if you actually play the games in order (of release), and I mean ALL of them cause they're all essential to the story not just 1+2+3, it's perfectly understandable.
Honestly just play them in order. They all have the subtle nods to previous ones and once you get hooked to metal gear you will play them multiple times anyway. Maybe skip metal gear acid and survive but don't skip portable ops or peace walker. As an unpopular opinion you could play the GameCube remake of mgs1 so it feels slightly less dated for new players.
honestly i started with 5 and my experience was not impacted by not playing the 1st 4 so u could probably start with it unless u want to play the other, i have no wishes to play any of the other metal gear games other than metal gear rising: revengeance because of it's cool combat style
Rob. I completely agree with you. DMC was a great game. And for those nay sayers it was not my first devil may cry game. Either 1 or 3 was. But 3 was the first one I finished.
Well any of them are better than dmc 2. My top three dmc games are 1. DMC. 2. DMC 3 Special Edition. 3. DMC 1 and I have yet to play DMC 5 or that would require a different top three.
I honestly agree with Nate. To add to his opinion, you can also tank most bosses with heavy armor and a good shield. That’s literally how I beat it the first time lol

Pokemon holds many memories for me, but the games are *BAD* compared to other JRPGs: Combat is shallow, story structures are copy/paste from one the next, and the collection mechanic encourages the player to either bloat their team or ignore over 90% of the recruitable characters. It took me years to admit this to myself, but the core Pokemon games are pretty bad when stood next to any mechanically or narratively deep JRPG (and being 'for kids' isn't an excuse....Chrono Trigger was 'for kids' too!)
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is the best installment of the franchise. 5 was also really great. And for me personally 2 holds a special place in my heart. Tekken 3 comes after those :D

Mass Effect Andromeda wasn't terrible. It was boring, and rushed. But it had potential. Had they fixed the faces before launch and not had Sam cut off all intra-party dialogue, I would have been happy.
Yes! ME:A is a pretty neat game. I honestly love it! Do I love to the extent of the original ME trilogy? No, definitely not. However, I did really love the story, worlds, aliens, and I honestly REALLY enjoyed the games combat systems. I had a blast playing it and feel like a lot of people just jumped on the bandwagon of hate on it. Most people I've talked with about it didn't even play it and still trash it. Most noticeably about the facial animation and I have to explain that that was patched but they're still like well I'm not gonna play it because so and so said it was bad and they shouldn't have released an unfinished game. Hello! I could honestly name soooo many games that were released before they were truly finished and they don't get near the hate.
Couldn´t agree more on that. It´s just sad that certain games are allowed to have soo many flaws, being unfinished and so on. And are getting all the praise. And people call it amazing. Another game, same flaws gets all the hate. It´s just soo tiring. Nowadays, you find such thing way too often in the Gaming Branch. I mean it´s just useless. Because, like you´ve said it, people tend to jump on the Hate Train and are not giving it a chance. Which is sad, because personally I played many games that are soo amazing, but are getting such Treatment.
My turn. Driver 3 (or Driv3r) was an awesome game. Great story, beautiful environments, and excellent vehicle physics and design for the time. And several ways to approach and complete several missions. I loved that game.
butterpastor. What is it with people feeling the need to say they platinumed the Souls game. I swear just about every play some egotistical person goes “I’ve platinumed the souls games so I know everything about”. Platinuming the souls series isn’t hard it’s just time consuming. The Acquire all of a certain item are really time consuming but not difficult.
Agreed, while i also love Me2, i just liked the story of Me3 better, Me2 was just too repetitive with recruiting and loyalty missions all the time and very little of the main story to go along. Though it makes for great character building, which is where mass effect really shines.
I think Yen is definitely the right one for Geralt. But I don't think Triss is a bad person, even though she sometimes tries to take advantage of people lol. She took care of Ciri at kaer morhen, that's enough to earn my respect.
Yen is complex and initially I thought she was rude and indulgent and therefore Trish was my initial favourite however as I played the game it became evident that Trish was simple (plain) and Yen was indeed a much more engaging character with many levels of personality and reasons for why she acts the way she does. I hate how in RPGs, especially jrpgs, you can't take the 'main character' out of the party... partially because then I can't have my girl power party just cuz some guy is overleveled and is insisting on being in All the fights. Also that you had missions you had to play as Jacob in AC: Syndicate (Although he was just too dumb to live imo... Evie was the best fighter in my London)
My problem with Yenn is that she is the opposite of what Geralt needs. He is often a gray character. He wants to be good but is often willing to compromise that. Yennifer is like that, but even more so. They both have the capacity to drag each other down. Honestly, they are bad influences on each other. Triss can help to bring out the better aspects of who Geralt is.
Rob, I actually agree with you on DmC. I think it was actually my first foray in Devil May Cry, and I knew about the controversy surrounding the game. But when I started playing it...I had an utter blast. I think the original Dante is a cooler character, but otherwise DmC was just a great game in its own right. So I’m with you on that one, mate.
I agree with Yen being the better option, but not because Triss is dull. Yen and Triss were very close friends before both of them had even met Geralt. She may seem sweet, but going for Geralt during their memory loss period is such a backstabbery thing to do. Yen is blunt and harsh, but she wouldn't betray you behind your back like that...

To me it was never so much about Triss being annoying or dull although she is compared to Yennifer. But to me its more so I just saw her as a bitch. I mean Yennifer and Geralt are pretty much soul mates. And they basically raised a child together in Ciri. I know they have gone their separate ways plenty of times and Geralt would love to sleep around when they did. Yet they would always find their way back to each other. Then you have the fact that Triss knew all of this and was even best friends with Yennifer. Yet as soon as Geralt lost his memory of Yennifer and everything else. She decided it was fine to hook up with him. Like what type of best friend sleeps with the man you love.
The Dark Souls series really isn’t that hard. I’ve beaten them all (and Bloodborne for that matter) several times and I’m not even that good at them. They certainly are hard but they aren’t too hard. If you get stuck you can always level up, improve your gear or just summon help. As for an unpopular opinion... I liked Dragon Age 2.
Ok so, my only objection is that the ursine armor in the witcher looks AMAZING. Also, Rob, I completely agree that dmc was the best in the series! The combat was deliciously smooth, and the environments were so surreal and alive. Def deserves that 90 lol

I tried really hard to love it, but I got to the Shadows of Yarnham boss battle(beat it) and never touched the game ever again... I've Plat all 3 Dark Souls, on my way to do the same with Sekiro, but I can't stand playing anymore Bloodborne...

How exactly? What improvement is there, the moment you learn to deflect it's just like dark souls where you mastered rolling
I finished sekiro twice and love the game. But it is quite easy especially if you master deflections early on. Dark Souls is harder in my opinion, but overall all soulsborne games aren't extremely hard they just are "harder" than other games
The unpopular opinion is actually to pick Triss. I picked Triss the 1st time, Yennefer at my 2nd playthrough... I should have picked Triss again.
not if you read the books before, triss betrays geralt and leaves him to get killed while yennefer does the imposible to return to him and find Ciri.

I definitely agree with you Nathan, since playing sekiro its really highlighted how easy dark souls is.
Depending on which souls game it is, you have so many mechanics to break the game, heavy armor, shields (&stability), sorceries, pyromancy, early weapon upgrades, op early weapons such as the drake sword / zweihander / black knight weps etc, weapons movesets - that Zwei r2 tho, pancakes for days, summoning - i'm sure there are more. The main thing is - you don't know any of these off the bat, you you need to explore and experiment, when you do - and when you discover something strong, you can mostly just roflstomp through the game.
@@Houldey Dark souls is just a different kind of difficult. its the "Knowledge" kind of difficult. every enemy attack, every enemy weakness, all the loot locations and how to build your character all play a part. sekiro is pattern recognition and reaction time difficult.
I will say that dark souls can be made much harder through the in game systems than sekiro can be though.
@@Houldey i'm a veteran souls player and i still say dark souls is an easy game even though i have never beaten the original game because i suck at 3 of the 4 bosses required to get to the kiln of the 1st flame (i can beat seath but i refuse to until i cut his tail and i'm failing at that, i hate the tomb of the giants so i can't even get to nito to fight him and the four kings area/boss i just can't beat i have trouble with the area and then when i get to the boss i suck at fighting them) and finally my Controversial Gaming Opinion is that the bed of chaos is an easy boss that i had no trouble with at all almost killing her 1st try ever if i hadn't got cocky and slow walked and died to her pillar attack just b4 delivering the final blow (don't ask for proof cause idk if i still have the recording or not)

I guess you can only compare difficulty to other games. By most games standards I'd say Dark Souls is a "hard game" because it doesn't go out of it's way to guide you in any way.
People are a bit conditioned to expect games to explain every detail up front, but Dark Souls expects you to _learn_ ... It's a rare thing in games and I think that's partly why I love it!

Birth By Sleep is the best KH game, the combat was fluid, story had a beginning middle and end that all made good sense. It had Axel when he was baby Lea.

BBS was amazing because it had the three different stories so it was like getting 3 games in 1, but they all led to the same place which I found amazing. Story alone, yeah BBS is my favorite, but combat I have to give it to KH2 because I found the melding of commands to get abilities (second chance, leaf bracer, combo plus, etc) to be annoying. (Also Terra was the hardest character to play as combat wise)
if it wasn't for kh3 taking the top spot recently i'd agree birth by sleep is the best, great stories great secret ending and imo the best combat the series has
@@evelyndavis5000 i have to agree terra was the hardest of the 3 to play but he was designed to be that way so when u started ven and aqua's story u had a much easier time with the game, i beat terra's story on the hardest difficulty and it was a nightmare and pushed me to lower the difficulty for ven and aqua's stories

Unpopular opinion: Final Fantasy VIII is actually a brilliant FF game and deserves a remaster. Also, the devs should reverse their story stance and embrace the R=U fan theory in the remaster, because it works!!!

I like FF8. I actually owned it back on the ps1. My only complaints are that some places get locked in the end game and the magic junction system. Juction was a really cool concept but I never wanted to use magic because of it so that made it an attack grind most of the time (especially with those harder to obtain magic like Holy and Ultima)
Great game, it was unfortunate to come out in between VI, VII and IX because at any other stage it's a standout entry to the series.
I think the focus on the love story made the rest of your party feel like an afterthought and the scene where they discover they're all secret best friends is where it lost me and a lot of people.
I don't really think that's unpopular. Most Facebook posts from Square Enix these days are absolutely filled with people begging for an FFVIII remaster.
Unpopular opinion: I really liked Assassin’s Creed 3, and really liked Connors character and most things about the game honestly.
I didn't mind the story, but my problem was Haytham was so much more charismatic and intriguing I'd rather have played as him.
I agree! I didn't even mind the slow build-up of the story and that you only don the assassin's outfit somewhere in the 6th sequence... Also, my favorite combat system... Fast and fluid!

Assassins creed 3 is easily one of the best ac games in part by its amazing combat animations and it’s protaginist. The only reason people hated hm was he had the misfortune of being the first new protagonist after ezio. but I think his brutish persona was a breath of fresh air after 3 games with our charming Italian assassin. Any mimic of him would have fallen flat.
Connor is my second favourite Assassin after Ezio. Being an introvert I related to Connor's more reserved personality and really appreciated that we didn't just get Ezio 2.0

Have to agree with Rob on DmC. I was totally down on it when the first looks landed, but when I played it I loved it. In my mind it's Ninja Theory's best game.
Triss is the unacceptable one? Nope. Sorry. The way that Yen treats Geralt is unacceptable. She treats him like a dog to be kicked and cast aside and if she doesn't get her way she sulks like a child.
Triss, on the other hand, is genuine and warm. While she is definitely guilty of playing games with Geralt (as women do to men), she is nowhere near the same league as Yen on that account. Not hating on anyone for your opinion, just giving you mine in a slightly aggravated way haha
If you read the books is very clear, triss betrays geralt and yennefer fights against everything and everyone to save Geralt and get Ciri back
Yennifer and Geralt play word games for fun. It's what they do as lovers. Geralt is not a soft man. He immediately fights back with words if yen insults him for fun. They have been lovers for decades. They are like old couples.
Not to mention that triss basically stole Geralt while he had no memory and didn’t think to say anything about his past which she knew.
Triss definitely seems like a better character in the games if you've never read the books. With an understanding of the books, the situation in the games and how Triss acts are pretty weird (especially in the first game). Triss is much more open and honest about things in the 3rd game, but the way that the relationships were handled in the games was ultimately just weird. They basically wrote out Geralt's official love interest (having pretty much everyone ignore her existence) and then wrote her back in later, making the whole thing pretty messy. In general though, it seems like folks who read the books first are more likely to be Yennefer fans, whereas those who played the games first are more likely to be Triss fans.

I picked Yen because I read the books during my playthrough, and came to the conclusion that she and Geralt were the best parents for Ciri.
I never read the books or even played any of the games before that looked up on the wiki what their relationships were. Basically got that Yennifer and Geralt are pretty much the mother and father to Ciri having raised her pretty much. That Geralt and Yennifer were deeply in love with each other even when they went their own ways they would always end up back together down the road. And that the only reason Geralt even got with Triss was mostly due to losing his memory. The whole parent thing meant very little to me. Seeing how at that point Ciri was already an adult. And by the ending being parents to her is pretty much a mute point. Seeing how she either disappears at the end. Or becomes a Witcher on her own or becomes empress. While Geralt and whoever you chose just end up living alone together. Or at least I figure that is how both sides end. Never picked Triss once so not sure if her ending with Geralt is like the same them just settling down together like it is with the Yennifer ending.
Yennefer is canon, and I keep my playthroughs canon

Don’t use the mask if you want the plat. Adds a HUGE grind for the all skills trophy.
@@devinleff8035 Oh, the grind. I've killed the shinobi at the top of Hirata castle after the Divine Dragon fight about 300 times in NG +3 and still have 17 skill points to earn. I'm starting to feel bad for them. It's like they've been sent to some sort of video game hell where their fate is to be murdered over and over and over and over again by a bored looking player deity just after their xp. I don't even fight most of them head on because stealth kills are quicker. I think this officially makes me a monster, but then again... platinum.
@Mirha77 use the Outskirts Stairway farm after the dragon, NG+3 you get like 20,000 every 90secs and NG+4 you get 27,000 every 90. Just got my plat yesterday 💎👊🏼
Regarding Yennefer or Triss, it all depends on how you roleplay as Geralt and whether you see him as "just a book version" or, possibly, as something more than that for you as a player.
I agree! I hadn't read the books.I played the trilogy and Tries was my main focus...when it wasn't Shani... Anyway yen comes in third game and I'm like "but I don't know you and you are just mean and Triss is so much more supportive than you are."
@@DoGoodCrochet Yeah, I understand. The whole point of a videogame and an RPG as a genre is to make your own decisions. That is the MAIN point of these games. Books are a different form of medium for telling stories and in Witcher games you can and should be able to decide what choice works best for you or what you believe is the best choice for Geralt.

Only played the games and Triss was always supportive. Yennefer was just mean and manipulative, I could not stand her. She also makes choices that I consider very much on the evil spectrum. Triss all the way.

This gets even more clear when you come back to corvo bianco und they have this lovely conversation in which she opens her Heart to Geralt. So even though she seems to be toxic in the beginning, to ne she is the better and more loyal decision. So I totally go with Elle and Rob 😅
I actually thought that DMC was pretty awesome. I loved the music and the battles were fun. I'm still a fan of the originals but I don't hate DMC

Yeah, I thought it was a great game...I'm glad it didn't replace the original series but I did really enjoy DMC; I loved the kind of surreal art direction they went with for the demon world. DMC 3 is still my favourite though.
the problem was never the game itself it was the portrayal of dante

The game was good but I couldn't stand dante. After having a complete badass dante for the other games (especially 3) that version of him was just bad imo. Gameplay and all that was up there. I just think that if they hadn't named him dante and it wasnt an actual dmc game people might have liked it better but comparisons will always be there
I also enjoined DMC, but I hadn’t play Devil May Cry since the 2nd one and so I didn’t have as strong of a prior attachment.
I loved tekken tag tournament! Played it with my brother all the time.
Two controversial opinions:
1) none of the tekken series holds the title of best fighter. I grew up playing them and absolutely loved them, but when I finally played my first soul calibur (3 I think?) I realised it was just so much better. The chronicles of the sword mode made it particularly great by actually adding a reasonable story for you to follow.
2) Battle royals are terrible. They're like an FPS with a multiple minute respawn timer where you spend half of the time 'playing' just trying to find an enemy

SCII and III were excellent, though Chronicles of the Sword I seem to remember having some of the longest load times i'd ever experienced and it definitely sucked away some of the enjoyment. I also adore the combat in SCVI, for me it's just as fun as II and III overall.
Also Dragon Age 2 was my favorite DA game.

I actually loved arguing with Yen. That scene in Kaer Morhen where she portals you in a lake. Come back and the way Geralt continues the argument is pure gold

my brother (15 at the time) finished both and continued playing it to try get everything else in the game whilst knowing we had tons of other brilliant games waiting.
Rendani Khobo i haven’t had a chance to fully complete all three yet but just playing through the game and doing some of the side content, it was an enjoyable time
XIII-2 was the only one I'd have said was good. Only finished XIII when I was waiting for PS4 to release. Didn't like XIII-3. Bang average for me.
FF XIII is the only game in the series that I've never felt the need to go back to, it was that bad.
I totally agree with you i loved all 3 of them. Some things in lightning returns bugged me like the timer. But even that could be slowed down or stopped. I personally love XIII the most.
That the FFXIII trilogy, FFXV, Lords of Shadow 1 and 2, DMC Devil May Cry are all good and enjoyable games

Ok the only difference between Yen and Triss is that Yen doesn't bother hiding how manipulative and self serving she can be. Triss saw that her BEST FRIEND'S boyfriend had amnesia and decided that she was going to sleep with him. That is incredibly shady. Plus the Yennifer romance gets really good if you put some work into it.
I agree with Rob, I didn't even know who Merigold was to Geralt, so I just sent her on the boat and stuck w/ Yen. That sidequest at the end with Yen was amazing

Tag had such a good soundtrack, I always listen to it even now. I remember being scared of the final boss, "Unknown", when I was a child. She had such creepy music.
Yen didn't show she actually cared until after I committed to Triss. She seemed a really unhealthy choice until the boat scene. I was actually kinda heartbroken and knew I couldn't go back on it. Why Yen why couldn't you let down your thorny walls before it was too late! Also yes TTT and DmC are the best!

Have played the game 5 times all the way threw and have never once gone with Triss despite the fact that in every other game that has romance options I always replay them and go with a different romance option each time like in Persona 5. Big reason I feel like I can only ever pick Yennifer is due to the fact that they raised a child together. Are basically soul mates even when the go their own way they always end up back together at some point. And then Triss only ever got with Geralt because he lost his memory and Triss never even told him about what had happened to him. She never mentioned ohh yea you know you love this women called Yennifer and you both were captured by the Wild Hunt and IDK what happened to her but its fine lets not bother trying to find her. Because knows my chance to have you.

totally agree with Rob! I loved DmC, it's so much fun to play and the art style was so vibrant. my unpopular opinion is: the Kingdom Hearts series is not that hard to follow. a lot of people will tell newcomers that it's super complicated and nonsensical but if you actually play the games in order (of release), and I mean ALL of them cause they're all essential to the story not just 1+2+3, it's perfectly understandable.

Honestly just play them in order. They all have the subtle nods to previous ones and once you get hooked to metal gear you will play them multiple times anyway. Maybe skip metal gear acid and survive but don't skip portable ops or peace walker.

honestly i started with 5 and my experience was not impacted by not playing the 1st 4 so u could probably start with it unless u want to play the other, i have no wishes to play any of the other metal gear games other than metal gear rising: revengeance because of it's cool combat style

Pokemon holds many memories for me, but the games are *BAD* compared to other JRPGs:
Combat is shallow, story structures are copy/paste from one the next, and the collection mechanic encourages the player to either bloat their team or ignore over 90% of the recruitable characters. It took me years to admit this to myself, but the core Pokemon games are pretty bad when stood next to any mechanically or narratively deep JRPG (and being 'for kids' isn't an excuse....Chrono Trigger was 'for kids' too!)

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is the best installment of the franchise.
5 was also really great.
And for me personally 2 holds a special place in my heart.
Tekken 3 comes after those :D
I find almost all Multiplayer shooters to be unbelievably boring...yes even with friends
Would you play a more single player focused shooter? Say like Bioshock or DOOM (2016)?

Rosie is spot on! Tekken Tag is the bomb, such a blast to play with a group of friends.
I agree with Rob... if they had called it anything other then DMC the game would have been a bigger hit.
Rosie, I liked Tekken Tag Tournament too. I don't know if it would be the one I like best, but it's very high up on my list. Possibly my second choice.
DMC Reboot is my favourite one as well.

Mass Effect Andromeda wasn't terrible. It was boring, and rushed. But it had potential. Had they fixed the faces before launch and not had Sam cut off all intra-party dialogue, I would have been happy.

Yes! ME:A is a pretty neat game. I honestly love it! Do I love to the extent of the original ME trilogy? No, definitely not. However, I did really love the story, worlds, aliens, and I honestly REALLY enjoyed the games combat systems. I had a blast playing it and feel like a lot of people just jumped on the bandwagon of hate on it. Most people I've talked with about it didn't even play it and still trash it. Most noticeably about the facial animation and I have to explain that that was patched but they're still like well I'm not gonna play it because so and so said it was bad and they shouldn't have released an unfinished game. Hello! I could honestly name soooo many games that were released before they were truly finished and they don't get near the hate.
Couldn´t agree more on that. It´s just sad that certain games are allowed to have soo many flaws, being unfinished and so on. And are getting all the praise. And people call it amazing. Another game, same flaws gets all the hate. It´s just soo tiring. Nowadays, you find such thing way too often in the Gaming Branch. I mean it´s just useless.
Because, like you´ve said it, people tend to jump on the Hate Train and are not giving it a chance. Which is sad, because personally I played many games that are soo amazing, but are getting such Treatment.

Driver 3 (or Driv3r) was an awesome game. Great story, beautiful environments, and excellent vehicle physics and design for the time. And several ways to approach and complete several missions. I loved that game.

butterpastor. What is it with people feeling the need to say they platinumed the Souls game. I swear just about every play some egotistical person goes “I’ve platinumed the souls games so I know everything about”. Platinuming the souls series isn’t hard it’s just time consuming. The Acquire all of a certain item are really time consuming but not difficult.

Agreed, while i also love Me2, i just liked the story of Me3 better, Me2 was just too repetitive with recruiting and loyalty missions all the time and very little of the main story to go along. Though it makes for great character building, which is where mass effect really shines.

I think Yen is definitely the right one for Geralt. But I don't think Triss is a bad person, even though she sometimes tries to take advantage of people lol. She took care of Ciri at kaer morhen, that's enough to earn my respect.
Tekken 3 might be regarded as the greatest but nothing can beat the Tekken 2 soundtrack, that will always be the best hands down
..and still such an amazing intro.

Yen is complex and initially I thought she was rude and indulgent and therefore Trish was my initial favourite however as I played the game it became evident that Trish was simple (plain) and Yen was indeed a much more engaging character with many levels of personality and reasons for why she acts the way she does. Yen >> Trish
As a triss fan I completely disagree with everything you said but I respect your opinion
I hate how in RPGs, especially jrpgs, you can't take the 'main character' out of the party... partially because then I can't have my girl power party just cuz some guy is overleveled and is insisting on being in All the fights.
Also that you had missions you had to play as Jacob in AC: Syndicate (Although he was just too dumb to live imo... Evie was the best fighter in my London)

My problem with Yenn is that she is the opposite of what Geralt needs. He is often a gray character. He wants to be good but is often willing to compromise that. Yennifer is like that, but even more so. They both have the capacity to drag each other down. Honestly, they are bad influences on each other. Triss can help to bring out the better aspects of who Geralt is.
Wrong Geralt doesn’t need Triss he needs Yen read the books and you’ll see which is perfect for him

Rob, I actually agree with you on DmC. I think it was actually my first foray in Devil May Cry, and I knew about the controversy surrounding the game. But when I started playing it...I had an utter blast. I think the original Dante is a cooler character, but otherwise DmC was just a great game in its own right. So I’m with you on that one, mate.
Sekiro is the Dark Souls of Bloodborne, but only when it’s the Demon’s Souls of Dark Souls

It's getting up there with Bloodborne for me, Bloodborne is my favourite but Sekiro is a close 2nd, and I haven't completed it yet.

I agree with Yen being the better option, but not because Triss is dull. Yen and Triss were very close friends before both of them had even met Geralt. She may seem sweet, but going for Geralt during their memory loss period is such a backstabbery thing to do. Yen is blunt and harsh, but she wouldn't betray you behind your back like that...

Triss is annoying n dull n it's yennifer forever and dark souls is Def way easier than sekiro n gives you way more ways to tank your way through bosses
To me it was never so much about Triss being annoying or dull although she is compared to Yennifer. But to me its more so I just saw her as a bitch. I mean Yennifer and Geralt are pretty much soul mates. And they basically raised a child together in Ciri. I know they have gone their separate ways plenty of times and Geralt would love to sleep around when they did. Yet they would always find their way back to each other. Then you have the fact that Triss knew all of this and was even best friends with Yennifer. Yet as soon as Geralt lost his memory of Yennifer and everything else. She decided it was fine to hook up with him. Like what type of best friend sleeps with the man you love.
I totally agree with Elle... Geralt's armor at the beginning is the coolest... he should have gotten that mid way through or near the end.
The Dark Souls series really isn’t that hard. I’ve beaten them all (and Bloodborne for that matter) several times and I’m not even that good at them. They certainly are hard but they aren’t too hard. If you get stuck you can always level up, improve your gear or just summon help.
As for an unpopular opinion... I liked Dragon Age 2.
Ok so, my only objection is that the ursine armor in the witcher looks AMAZING. Also, Rob, I completely agree that dmc was the best in the series! The combat was deliciously smooth, and the environments were so surreal and alive. Def deserves that 90 lol

Here's my unpopular opinion: I actually think it is the worst game From Software has made...
I tried really hard to love it, but I got to the Shadows of Yarnham boss battle(beat it) and never touched the game ever again... I've Plat all 3 Dark Souls, on my way to do the same with Sekiro, but I can't stand playing anymore Bloodborne...
