Maribel V-B...she did not have the inheritance needed to land a wealthy man - she was not a cunning woman, which is why she wasn't hated by the aristocratic women (these women chose to emulate her, instead). She was renowned for her beauty so others became curious (fame brought her to the attention of other men).

@@danimotherofchickens479 sleeping with different people and, as a result, being able to make your own choices and stay independent, rather than being controlled by a husband (who, during these times, could turn out to be abusive/a cheater/a jerk without the woman being able to do anything about it) is actually pretty inspirational. From rags to riches as the saying goes. I think from an early age she was very aware of the limited choices of her current living circumstances. She had a certain quality within herself and a determination about her to make it in the world, especially back in those days with her family routes living in doomed poverty. It is not the easiest task to climb the ladder of financial prosperity, but she found her own way in life to manage. loved the story and really admire her, and ability to take all in her difficult stride.

I enjoyed this piece of history regarding a young girl coming from poverty and lack of education to invent herself so she could make a living. She didn't have to resort to begging and obviously she knew herself well and that in turn made her gentleman friends know who they were dealing with. A woman of honor to those who knew her well. Thanks for sharing From US

I love to both watch and listen. To see a photo or portrait of the person you're speaking of makes the story more real. Seeing pictures of others and venues relative to the story also aid in the storytelling. The thing I love best is to listen to the soothing tones of your voice. I enjoy listening to a few of your stories before bed to help me relax at the end of the day. The stories are very compelling, but they wouldn't be as good if someone else were telling them!I will be very sad should you ever decide to stop narrating and creating stories! Can't wait for your next offering! I wish you a wonderful and blessed New Year!

Well I for one am the type to listen to your videos as I'm going about cleaning, bathing, or writing or whatever it is I'm doing in the meantime. I put on my headphones and just push play. But when I do look I like to look at the pics. Like with this video....this woman was hugely interesting to me, so it was very cool to see her pics!! So the videos are very well recieved whether or not there are pics!!! Thanks for another interesting and well read and explained video-!!!! I'm one of your #1 fans!!😊
