    I tell you what, my dad got one of these, pre-lift, and its brilliant runner, nothing ever broke, smooth to drive and easy to live with. The whole family can easily pack for a 2 weeks holiday in it. Just cannot go wrong with it, especially now when car prices went bonkers.
    Cheers Nobby!

    Manually-operated handbrake and traditional buttons and switches on the dashboard. That's how it should be! Good job Suzuki!

      @@Edvard.Munchkin your opinion, but not true, with MHB you have more contro of the car. But if you use the car to go to supermarket is enough, ja.

      @@francmedic7917 What control more does it give you? I have electric handbrake with autohold on a DSG Passat, it's fine. Doesn't release until car has enough power to move forward if you're on a hill or whatever. To apply it, just pull the switch or place shifter in P and turn off engine and it will apply. Extremely easy use. I don't understand what control you need more than that?

    Considering suzuki's reputation for solid reliability, this good looking and practical cross over seems to offer fantastic value. The 1.4 turbo from the swift sport is one fine engine with excellent low end torque and high levels of refinement.

    Adaptive cruise and blind spot for 30k, thats how it should be. Not as premium as the new qashqai but you are probably saving 10k for that.

      @@NobbyOnCars had a look at the qashqai pricelist, the safety stuff actually comes on the base model whioh is great to see and I wouldnt have expected. 33k approx.
      To match the spec of the suzuki there I think you'd need to go to the next model up which is 35.5 for the manual or 39 for the auto.
      Weirdly something like heated seats seems to only come as standard on the top spec model. Mad that is.

    • @NobbyOnCars

      Qashqai has a decent level of standard stuff now alright but even the second spec up is high 30s.

      And nissan (renault) engines probs only cost about a £1000 to build, cheap quality parts and poor design. i would take the suzuki anyday especialy for their engines.

    Relatively simplistic in design and appearance..my initial thought on it is was it was similar to a Subaru Forester on the rear and the early Mazda CX-5 from the side. Nice bit of kit. There are lots of customers out there that just want simple. It'll be hard to pass it for value. Ideal tool for the upcoming annual caravan season too. Is there an AWD/4wd version out of interest?

    Great review Nobby as ever tho' the Qashqai much as I'm not a huge fan of it has a little bit more power from a smaller engine 140hp and 160hp from the 1.3 tho' it is probably a little bit more expensive. Apart from that the only thing really that lets it down is the same thing that all Suzuki's suffer from, the interior is very plasticky and cheap looking compared to some of its rivals plus with a screen that size or about 8 inches they could have easily integrated that into the dashboard, not a huge fan of cars witthe screen sitting proud of the dashboard which seems to increasingly be the case.

    • @leethatsme1988
      @leethatsme1988 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a 2004 suzuki liana estate 1.6. The interior is still solid at 185k miles. No flaking steering wheel, flaking and braking buttons, no seat wear. Compared to my 05 golf, the interior fell to bits and only just over 50k on the clock. I think i get what you mean though, the interior is pretty bland. I think if suzuki cuts down on making too many small compact city cars like alto, celerio, splash ect and add the budget to the interior since they spend most of the money on the engine buying reputable expensive parts.
