    I suffered from "Migraine" headaches for so long, extremely intense clusters, a neurologist put me on Topiramate, the side effects were terrible for me, i couldn't think straight, lost a dramatic amount of weight, became suicidal (i was a teen at the time) it was not a pleasant drug, thank god i was aware the problems i was experiencing were side effects of the drug and immediately came off. I then visited different doctors, upon my own research i categorised my "migraines" as cluster headaches, my doctor prescribed me sumatriptan imigran and it has dramatically improved my life. I couldn't be more grateful! I love the way this video categorises the differences between.

      I am on triptans as well, it changed my life.. But still I get that excruciating pain. I've been suffering from chronic migraine since I was born, at times migraine, at times cluster.. At times I feel like it's both of them?
      I'm also tsking meds to prevent them as prophylaxis, but they're not working as expected..
      Now triptans don't work alone, I always have to get paracetamol after a few hours..

    I suffer right sided migraines, and cluster headaches. In 2005 my head pain was severe and all over. My family dismissed my concerns believing it was another migraine. After several hours I finally convinced them to take me to hospital. I had a ruptured aneurysm. If we had waited any longer I would have died. Moral is if your headaches change seek medical attention.

    Aura is NOT feeling of something happening. Aura is usually a visual disturbance in the corner of your eye that appears right before migraine starts. It usually looks like a shining diamond or a bright light. There are many different types of auras. It's really interesting, I recommend anyone googling a "migraine aura". Aside from that, great video.

    • @kyleocallaghan9185
      @kyleocallaghan9185 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I guess it depends on your own interpretation - but auras, generally, is a description of a feeling of something happening before it happens. He isn't wrong to say that and this could include all the examples you listed also.

    During cluster headache the medical oxygen must be high flow 15-25L/Min with a full face non re-breather mask. During a cluster, esp if the cycle has several clusters, a Schedule 8 IR narcotic should be requested. The nickname for Trigeminal Autonomic Cephalagia subtype cluster headache (TAC CH) is suicide headache. That is how bad the pain is. Imagine having a 3hour cluster stops, then again a 2-3 hour cluster, stops, again and and again in a cycle. If you do not get oxygen, if you have missed the small window for the Sumpatriptan, get the patient pain relief or they suffer greatly. Other TAC can include congested nose, droop side of the face, unable to speak.

    What Causes Headache ? - Chemical activity in your brain, the nerves or blood vessels surrounding your skull, or the muscles of your head and neck (or some combination of these factors) can play a role in primary headaches. second , is dehydration
    and hangovers , that also have to do with both of the above .
    from a bad tooth , you can dislocate your jaw , from chowing from one side, and have headaches from this disharmony . bigger muscles from one side, atone muscles from the other, an uneven tension is formed on the head

    First of all, its OHra not OWra for the pronunciation of aura. Secondly, aura is not the feeling of something that is about to come on - it is a collection of symptoms (nausea, vomiting, photophobia, osmophobia and phonophobia) that precede the headache. Please make sure you are providing correct information before posting it.

    Trigeminal Neuralgia duration is not short at all. Had it since 2012. Affects one side usually only, mine is my left side. Episodes come and go and it effects my whole left side of my face. The pain covers the whole side of my face and is electrical shock pain and very intense and lasts sometimes for months. Lyrica is the only thing that helps me and the occasional visit to Intensive Care while I get infused with Lidocaine for 5 days while having my blood pressure observed closely. I would say since I have had cluster headaches before Trigeminal Neuralgia they are nothing compared to it. Also have had migraines and a migraine doesn't even get close to Trigeminal Neuralgia. Personal I would rate the pain worse than child birth, which I've experience twice naturally, but on the whole side of your face and in your ear as well. I feel when people do these presentations they should actually ask people that really have these conditions. I have sinus and hormonal menopausal headaches and you did not even touch on how they actually feel at all.

    I just discovered that rubbing the muscles in the back of my skull below my occipital bone, makes my head hurt worse and can trigger a frightening new pain in a new area of my skull. What about neck problems provoking interior head pain when you move your head? Ear pain, pain in back wall of throat, and "yanking" pain on various parts of your skull upon movement. Looking down in one direction creates pain in one area which refers to multiple areas at once. Looking in the other direction doesn't replicate it. All glands feel swollen and sore at sides of neck, in conjunction with ear and head pain. Tipping head one way causes pain at the top of the skull. None of these things you mention, nor did you discuss TMJ related headaches. And your diagram looks like you read it from a text book without thinking of real patient stories.

    My headaches feel like what I hear about migraines and people who suffer from them but mine are brought on by my menstruation most of the time and lack of estrogen I'm guessing cause that's when I get them. It's always on the right side back of bottom part of the skull and on the neck going to the right upper side shoulder next to the neck. Always on that side. They're so painful with the nausea and upset stomach. ibuprofen and asprin doesn't a think for them nor does Excedrin (tension or migraine). So I'm thinking I might need some kind of estrogen therapy? Mr. Hasudungan didn't give the drug or therapy tratement for Hormonal heachaches. Otherwise, interesting overview about headaches and migraines. Now if I can just get some actual relief :(

      @@tamaralongsworth2494 You know it girl! Tell it like it t-i -is! High five! Men just don't get it and never will. Now I'm going through pre-menopause to top it. Feel like I can't take another day or night of it especially the sweats then the freezing cold chills that follow. Hot cold hot cold ... just unreal! What is a poor woman to do? We have to go through so much in life and now this too with our bodies as we age? Come the frig on! Geez!!! Tamara L. hope you'll get some relief soon. The Excedrin Tension headache pills do give me right much relief after all. Might want to try them along with a cold pack at nights while trying to slumber off. You'll feel better if you try the combo of these two and over time it seems to get better as you use this therapy every time you have a migraine with the time. Take care! :)

      P.S. - Stress is a huge cause for it as well. Try not to sweat the stuff in your days that triggers extreme stress. Just let it ride off your shoulders and back best you can cause it's just not worth all that pain. Life is too short. Amen! and Good Luck!
