The image you mentioned at 2:21 is the problem with me . I used to study 14 hours daily infront of my desktop looking at the monitor without any head movements . I am suffering so badly with this things that u cant explain 😢i should seek a chiropractor or neurologist or your exercise
I have this type of headache (cervicogenic) combined with pain and tension in the upper trapezius. Actually, the first time I had this was last year. It lasted for a few weeks and was relieved with acupuncture. After several months, it came back and went away after a few weeks. Now, it has returned again. Is it normal for this pain to come and go after several months? I'm aware that I have poor posture and I'm also a bit anxious. I'll start doing the strengthening exercises you recommend. I usually play tennis, and that also triggers the pain. Lately, I've been doing pull-ups, and I'm afraid to continue because I don't know if it will worsen this pain further.
This is common to be episodic and come and go. The key is active self-management by having good posture, identify the triggers and utilizing the stretches/exercises we suggest. As well as OTC medication as need in a safe manner.
This video was what I needed. I had neck pain first, probably from doing too much gardening, which I haven't done in forever (plus I'm 70). Anyway I then got a bad headache , which is concerning. I'm not sure how long it takes for the neck pain to heal, I have been using ice, which seems to help. I'll have to look into those exercises after I recover.
@@gabitsu-ftw3871 No , I believe it's joint related, and activates when I'm stressed which causes inflammation. It may have started when I over did it gardening, but it is slowly getting better. I'm 71 and don't heal like someone much younger. I don't ever need to take any pain medication, I just use hemp cream or ice sometimes.
I've been skipping days off and on with nsaids and tylenol. Limiting them to once a day. Not sure if im taking them too infrequently and at low doses. I'm 33, M, 195 lbs if that helps any. Any tips on that?
First thing would be to implement the stretches and exercises if you have a cervicogenic headache. Do you fee like you can identify any of the triggers that cause them?
@@PerformanceSportSpine yes. When I make certain movements and when I take steps in a certain way I get really dizzy. I notice the pain more when I lay down and when I stand up as well. I've done a lot of stretches this past month. Not getting enough sleep definitely is a big factor for me. I may be massaging too rough to where I'm sore afterwards but it feels so good to apply forceful pressure. Lot of pain behind my eyes as well. Not very often but it's noticeable. Today I've had the worst eye pressure. Could be since I was flying too. A lot of things to take into consideration in my situation. I hurt my back lifting weights and I feel like that set me back a lot too. Can't catch a break.
@@gabitsu-ftw3871 significantly better. Nowhere near 100% but slowly my headaches are becoming less painful and my dizziness is better too. Still a lot of work to be done. I've been stretching, sleeping in a better position, working on improving my posture, trying to destress, and thinking positive thoughts. It's been tough. The entire month of May I was 100% but it started up again on the last week of June and came back even worse. Definitely struggling but trying my best.
Are the exercises helpful for tension headaches as well? Or are they targeted for the cervicogenic ones only? :)
They will be if your tension headache is coming from the sub-occipital muscles, the muscles at the base of your skull.
The first exercise caused sever pain in my neck! My headaches defiantly fit your cariogenic description.
Definitely have to do it gently. Glad to hear the description matched your symptoms
This happens to me, and I find it’s better when I stand up or sit up.
Glad you found a position to decrease the headache
I find the same thing but rich foods flare it even more could it be a sign of arthritis or gout?

We would recommend your primary care doctor or the neurologist

Strengthen your traps and shoulder. Bent arm lateral raise. Traps are prob the single biggest cause of tension headaches and migraines

Glad you found it beneficial and explained your condition. Yes let the neck take the time it needs to heal and then do the exercises.

Does these exercise help to get rid of a headache at the top back of the head
Yes they will!
Can I do these exercises if I have occipital neuralgia?
Yes, as long as there is no medical reason you can't treat that area
@@PerformanceSportSpine Thank you!
I’m not sure if Radio Frequncy ablation surgery would help but I think I’ll be doing that if the steroid injections don’t work
Hope it helps
