I did everything you stated.. bought my home online and came out for the inspection before closing. It actually took me 5 offers but I ended up with the perfect place! I've been here exactly one year this last weekend, from Washington state. I've got a nice big lot, a great view of the mountains as well, living in the limestone - chuckey area. My annual property taxes here are the equivalent of 2.5 months of my last home. My home was 1/4 of the price it would've been in Washington, no exaggeration. For me this is the greatest place for being a younger retiree ( 59 ) with all the hiking trails, rivers, lakes, pubs, restaurants, live entertainment and the ski areas just across the NC state line are pretty nice , you just have to pick your days.
My son and his family and I are looking to move from Kelso, WA in your area ASAP. Thanks for your input. Nice to hear someone who has experienced this group!! 🤗
@@semicountryliving3095 If Bradly is a WA native, at 59, he would remember when it was a conservative state with a great republican governor in Dan Evans. I remember him - as a 66 year old WA native, Christian, and lifelong conservative. We elected a republican gov a few years ago in Dino Rossi, but the dems magically found a box of ballots in a car that put Gregoire over the top. Republicans have to win EVERY court case, every count, Dems just have to win one. That's what happened here. And there's more than a few of us who are convinced we elected Culp (GOP) in 2020 but for ballot box stuffing, trafficking and fraud in Seattle. Where I'm at in Sequim, would be conservative/red but for being gerrymandered in with the libtards in Olympia. Don't count us out. ;)
You do a fantastic job sharing the upper East Tenn area!! As a realtor in Nashville I often have the opportunity to send referrals to areas I don’t work-- glad to know you!
I’m flying in on March 27-30. My friend lives in Clarksville . I’m interested in Northeast and possibly other areas of Tennessee. Originally from Brooklyn NY, currently living in Florida. Tired of HOA high tax etcetera. Now, if I can only get my wife on board. 😅
@@mkshffr4936 My wife & I just relocated from northeast Pennsylvania. We stayed at an RV park in Elizabethton for 9 days in September of this year. We met with Shad Freck and "scouted" the area until we found the neighborhood where we wanted to live. It was not easy but we did find a park with full hookups for $20 a day.
Absolutely, this is a great idea. We did this in Texas, rented an apartment for two years. We looked over neighborhoods, joined a church, talked with folks at church and work. We finally purchased a great home in the best location, with proven potential. It was a wonderful plan that worked well, financially, locale, access in and out, back ways (out of big traffic) to groceries, restaurants, administrative businesses. Will do this every time we move, forward.

Living in NC relocated from CT your videos are amazing. The open areas are scarce here your videos has made me see more options. Are you a real estate agency or a relocation service. I was interested in an agent Thank you,

Please stop trying to get yankees to move here I know you guys want to make money but, it's already overcrowded and we don't want JC to turn into Chicago.
Paying cash puts you in a very good position when making an offer in a home. You didn’t mention if you need to sell your current home first or you can proceed without any contingencies. Feel free to email me to discuss further. Stefamorr@gmail.com.

It seems to me rent an apartment for a year and then look around to see where the best place to move to.
That is certainly a possibility too. A long term rental is much easier to find right now. Short term rentals are very challenging to find.
I was thinking about the possibility of getting a small travel trailer and a place to put it while looking for the right piece of land.

Moving to Kingsport soon.
Great town. I lived there for ten years.
What is your level of experience in rural land either ranch/homesteads or for new construction?
Shad and I also work with clients that are buying farms, large parcels of land and new construction.
I am interested in moving to East Tenn. but I'm seeing very few homes for sale. Very few homes out of those few homes are nice. too bad!
The inventory is lower than usual. I think this is happening across the US. The nice ones are going quickly!
Are there any mobile home with land or tiny houses Johnson city Tenn.?
Yes, there are manufactured homes on land. Occasionally I will see a tiny home on someone’s lot.
Thank you. We are flying out in February to look.

How much rain does the area get?
It averages 49 inches per year.
What about rentals?
I don’t handle rentals. Sort term rentals are more difficult to find than annual rentals.
