I was always intimidated by this game but now that I’m really learning it I have to say I think this is one of the most under appreciated games in a long time. Hardly anyone plays it and the depth it has is unreal.

It's a good game to get into 😁 there is a lot to it, especially with some of the DLC content, can make it incredibly challenging 👍

My tip for starting out is that you can build showers inside their cells and then make a 1x1 shower room inside one cell to cross it off for the grant.
You only need a dedicated room for showers if you have a lot of prisoners in your holding cells. If you're processing everybody right away the showers in their cells are better because they can't murder each other in them.

Agreed, showers are pointless unless you have holding cells (which are also pointless in my opinion), I only get them once so I can get the grant and get easy money 🤣
Showers in cells are a win, not just for the fact you stop constant deaths but also helps their privacy need.

If you look at the Room tooltips, not all of them need to be enclosed, so when speedrunning the grants, watch out for that because you can go even faster. Just note that they probably won't work if they're not enclosed, but that's not the point of this. You can worry about building it properly later.

Fun fact! You can put everything from the first two contracts (basic detention and administration) in a 10x10 if you use the "no room size" mutator.
