    As with all MustangsByMatt videos, my goal is to show the viewer that you don't need a million dollar shop and massive air tools to work on your car.
    In this video, Matt and Arch go about replacing the factory Blade spoiler that came on the 2015 and up Mustangs with the GT Performance Pack Pedestal style spoiler. This is a very simple job but does require some patience and having a knowledge of what exactly is keeping that original spoiler in place.

    Enjoying your videos. Catching up on them as I just recently got back into the Mustang club. I have 2020 GT and want to do this same install, so this was super helpful. Where did you get the spoiler. I see a few sources but want the Factory Ford one like you have to ensure the perfect fit. Did you have to get it painted. Cost. $575 - $650 range is what I am seeing and comes in gloss back. Just wondering if that is a reasonable price. Thanks for sharing your adventures. Peace

      Congratulations on the ride! I would check out The Parts Farm in Lyons, GA first. After that, I would go eBay. That's where I got mine. $200 for an OEM takeoff. Just about any 2015-2021 spoiler should fit if it came off your body style (coupe vs conv). If you live close enough, you might be able to save some cost on shipping and pick it up.

    Do you need to use the tape that comes with the new spoiler?? Or are the nuts strong enough to hold?

    • @MustangsbyMatt
      @MustangsbyMatt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question. The boring answer spoiler is designed to use the bolts and double-sided tape in tandem and should not be installed missing either one. The more realistic answer is that the tape is used for adhesion and waterproofing while doing most of the work of actually keeping the spoiler in place. Since the spoiler comes with tape from the factory, it doesn’t make sense not to use it.

    So was this a spoiler you bought directly from Ford? I have looked on AM and in their question and answers section for an aftermarket PP spoiler, they said the holes would not be reused. They said it would leave exposed holes in the trunk lid. That’s what I am curious about on how to swap spoilers without holes.
