@@1957Shep My obsession with the Woodsman started when I bought one at an estate sale a few years back. I am a huge fan of John Browning and knew that the Woodsman was designed by him. After I took it out to shoot it I was hooked! I generally shoot .22's because I have young kids so most of my money is spent on sports, braces, co-pays, cloths, etc hahaha and so if I want to keep shooting regularly I need the ammo to be cheap. I now have a match target woodsman from each series and they are such quality guns.
I didn't know about the different changes , the one I shot a long time ago had the magazine release like a 1911. Those are some fine 22's , my friend's dad had a huntsman S model , never heard much about those. Hope you had a good Christmas, stay safe
The Huntsman S is kind of rare. A cross between the Huntsman and Woodsman made at the end of the 3rd series to use up all the left over Woodsman and Huntsman parts when the Woodsman/Huntsman/Targetsman pistols were dropped from production.
@@1957Shep Thanks to you and 22plinkster I got addicted to woodsman pistols. Now I have a match target from each of the three series. My bullseye 1st series match target is definitely the one with the best fit and finish and is the easiest to be accurate with. My 2nd series match target sport has the best design and features in my opinion. My 3rd series 6" match target is wonderful too! Such a great line of guns!
Try www.gunpartscorp.com/ or gunbroker.com Keep in mind that not all of these pistols (depending on when they were made) use the same magazine. The Woodsman pistols have not been made since 1977, so magazines are not easy to find. There were 3 different series of Woodsman pistols. Some of them did not use the same magazine.
Beautiful collection. I have questions about this guns. I can used the magazine of woodsman on to husman. Or where can I get the magazine can i get the magazine hustman. Thank you so much.
Woodsman mags should work in the Huntsman. You can still get mags, but they are not cheap. Gun Parts Corp has them www.gunpartscorp.com/gun-manufacturer/colt/auto-pistols-colt/huntsman-2 Or try gunbroker.com
These have not been made since 1977. You can always find some for sale on the GunBroker auctions. Standard Manfacturing makes an excellent copy of the Woodsman, but they are expensive. You could probably find an excellent condition original Colt for less.
I have had these for many years, so I don`t know what they would bring today. As with any collectable item, condition is everything. Look on gunbroker.com and see what they have been selling for lately.
You have a nice selection of Colt .22 cal semi autos. Thanks for the video!
I have a real soft spot for quality 22s.

What about the CHALLENGER 22
The Colt Challenger was a cheaper version of the 2nd series Woodsman pistol. The Huntsman and Targetsman came later, based on the 3rd series Woodsman.
