In every generation there are the guys who recognize what will be future collectibles, and they take steps to make sure they have everything a collector would want in future years. Someone who bought a colt woodsman bullseye target first model and did nothing more than keep it clean and keep EVERYTHING that came in that box with the gun is the 1930s equivalent to the guy who bought Halographic Pokémon cards in the 90’s and left them in their original packaging.
So this is a first series match target. I am obsessed with the second series match target - both barrel lengths. But this one is just sweet with it's arrogant yet refined aesthetics - love it.
I’ve got a new in box Huntsman based on the same design. It’s not particularly valuable, but still a beautiful piece to behold. Wish I had the target model!

It would be so expensive if they made them with the same hand fitting. It would still be cheaper just to find an original one in excellent condition (even with the crazy prices).
I don't know exactly but I know that this is the holy grail of woodsmans and less desirable series match target woodsman's sell for well over $1,000 without the box and in used condition. I can't imagine what a like new 1st series woodsman in the box should sell for.

I paid $1,500 in July2024 for the same pistol without box.
Would be good to see the action worked and removing the magazine, etc.
HAVOC the magazine has a heel release. The action is pretty typical
