Definitely a factory blueing. Your "pony" is a light strike. I have seen quite a few late production Woodsman pistols with light strikes. No problem! Your is a very well made and well cared for pistol. Take care.
Thanks for the info. It does look like Colt factory blue. But I do know a couple of people that do restorations who are good enough at it that they can match the look of factory blue on older Colts and S&Ws so close that it`s damn hard to tell the difference.
Such a perfect gun for plinking! Thanks for sharing! I agree with you on the reblue question. Sure looks all original to me. Some of the earlier Colt firearms had light strikes for the rampant colt figure.
The Woodsman is a class act. And they are like potato chips. One just isn`t enough. I`ve got 3 of them. Only stopped then because the prices started getting too high. I`ve got a 3rd series target, but not nearly as nice as this one. About 80% condition. Also have a 3rd series 6" Match Target that is in close to perfect condition.
If nothing else this weekend, I want to try out some of that cheap Prvi Partizan ammo I got a while back. And do some more shooting with the little S&W M&P 22 I just bought. Yep. I fell off the wagon again. I`m a S&W-aholic. I can do some short range shooting out back when the cattle are not roaming around on the other side of the fence, but I want to try out the Prvi Partizan ammo out at a range of at least 100 or 200 yards and our local range has nice shooting benchs for sandbag shooting.
If I recall you have quite a few nice Colts in your videos. Were you the guy who had the video on taking down a Woodsman? Or maybe it was a Huntsman? Taking them apart is about the only thing I don`t like about the Colt 22s. In that regard, the S&W model 41 has them beat all to hell. Guess it could be worse. You should see the take down of the Benelli B80 pistol. Didn`t have a manual for the B80 and had to do some research just to figure out how to get it apart.
Just posted a new video on the Prvi Partizan ammo. The stuff is very accurate. Better than I expected on the accuracy. But I did have 2 rounds of .22 hornet that did not fire. Either hard or dead primers?
About the only thing I don`t like about them is that they are a pain to strip down for cleaning. I thought about doing a take down video with it, but it`s enough of a pain without trying to do it while looking through the viewfinder of a camera.
Do a search for rugersix channel. Harry has a couple of videos already posted on how to take down the Colt Challenger. Woodsman and Challenger are identical as far as the take down and reasembly. I can`t put a link in one of these comments. I`ll PM you the links.
If the weather is half decent this weekend I`m going to try to get in a little shooting. Will take the camera along. Will see if I get anything worth posting. I do these videos by myself. Not easy to do a good shooting video without someone manning the camera. Just stand in front of the camera and hope you get something worth while. At least this new camera is self focusing. That`s a big plus. Some of my early attempts at shooting vids were too pathic to even post.
Tried to reply to your private message, but you have "contact lock" engaged, so I could not send you a reply. Just wanted to say thank you for sending me that link for the Prvi Partizan Ammunition web site.
I have a tripod. That`s not a problem. But I always thought a good shooting video was one that switched from shooter to targets and back. Can`t do that by yourself. If I put the camera behind me, you can`t see the gun well. So basicly I have to settle for filming from the side while shooting then taking the camera to look at the targets. I do have a few shooting vids up. Probably the best of the bunch is "Shooting the S&W 627-5".
They are a great gun, but kind of pricy these days for use as a plinker. One in this condition would bring at least $600 these days, maybe closer to $700.
I may get around to doing one someday. Have a long list of videos I want to do when I get the time. I think mr45colt already has one up on youtube. I recal someone does. That`s the name that comes to mind.

Awesome Colt.
Once again I am amazed by the facts you have on your reviews.
Thanks for sharing.
BEAUTIFUL!!! Thanks. I bought a brand new Colt Python and the pony was only half stamped.
You got a great colt collection thank you for showing

I got a kick out of your last shooting video. Looked like you had a fun day.

I love it, bro. Thanks for sharing.
I`m amazed I don`t screw it up more often. I just do these (most of the time) off the top of my head.
Nice review, thanks!
Thanks.
There are still more that I`ve not gotten around to yet.
Thanks for your video. Could I talk you into doing a disassembly / reassembly video?

another great colt, good video
When I was a kid I used to drive my dad nuts. "When can we go shooting?" "When can we go shooting?" :)
great vid my brother

Make a Disassembly Video of it please, thanks.

Love me some holster wear and a gun that was loved mint is nice but I wanna use em
You can shoot near mint guns quite a bit without harming the value as long as you take care of them. But carrying them a lot is a different question.
