    • @BudgetGears

      You can always change your map whether you're running chips or emulator. Emulator is rtp. And your other question can be answered by watching the video.

      @@lucascamposs5080 yes, the board replaces the chip. You can solder the board or socket and plug the board in. As long as you have a good connection. The best is soldering. But I plugged it in cause I only use for tuning then I burn my tune onto a chip and run just the chip.

    Hello I have an extra socketed ECU that is Boost by gear ready and S300 ready. Can I get the BMulator instead? I've had a bad experience with Hondata's customer service, and want to part ways so I'd like to have options.
    What all do I need to buy? The BMulator, any other accessories from BMtune?

    • @BudgetGears
      @BudgetGears  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If it's already chipped and socketed, then all you have to do is pop the BMulator on and you're good to go. You don't need anything else. I believe the latest version of the BMulator includes the datalogger too.

    • @JohnSmith-uz3zj
      @JohnSmith-uz3zj 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BudgetGears I was told via BMTune's customer service that the socket is not the same. BMulator needs a female socket that accepts an SST chip. S300 socket has male pins stucking out to mate with s300 board.

    • @BudgetGears
      @BudgetGears  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JohnSmith-uz3zj in my video, the bmulator i have uses pins to mate to the bmulator board. The bmulator was originally meant to be installed without the sst chip socket, but instead with the pins provided. Those male pins will then mate to the female end on the bmulator board. So identical to s300. Cant you just pop the bmulator board onto the male pins from the s300? The pins are just generic electronics pins. Only reason I have a sst socket is because I dont like to run an emulator permanently. I rather tune with emulator, burn the tune to a chip, and run chip permanently. If I need to tune again, I'll plug the emulator back. That way there's less wear on the emulator.

      @@BudgetGears Interesting. I get what you are saying now and think it should be an easy 1 for 1 swap. I have 2 ECU's I will need to do it to. Some more questions:
      1. What burner hardware and software do you use to burn the chips once you are satisfied with the tune on the BMulator?
      2. Any recommendations for tutorials on ignition and fuel mapping? I don't have a dyno so my only option will probably be to street tune. Nothing super powerful though. N/A for both I'm actually backing out of a turbo build so I drive the car more. If HTS has enough tutorial built in it I can probably just use that?
      3. I thought HTS cost money but it looks like it's free for OBD1. Free for OBD1?

      @@JohnSmith-uz3zj
      1. I'm using the TL866II Plus. It's just a generic eeprom burner from China. I use the provided software for the burner. It is discontinued now, but I believe there are later versions available. I have a video on my channel. It'll be the same process if you're getting the newer version of this burner. But there's many different burners out there these days. I'd recommend just using something cheap and does the job, but there's more of a learning curve on these generic burners. Not too hard to figure out though.
      2. There's plenty of tuning tutorials on youtube and forums. The foundation of tuning is pretty similar. I'd suggest just searching up some videos. Fuel tuning is easy to do as long as you have a wideband. Ignition tuning, you'll need to do on a dyno. There are probably some that will disagree with me, but you'll not be able to to determine your MBT on the street. HTS is simple to use and they have a manual that tells you what most of the functions do.
      3. OBD1 for HTS is free. There's also lots of support on the fb group for this software too.

    • @BudgetGears
      @BudgetGears  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is an emulator for tuning. It'll tune auto and manual ecu. You'll just need a tuning software that can tune auto trans. That is something I cant answer because most people tune for manual and most software is designed for manual. I'd recommend reaching out to the different software companies and find out if their software can tune auto trans. This emulator is compatible with a wide range of software.

    Curious if anybody has had any issues with certain things not working like changing vtec engagement and wide band 02 showing more than 10.00. I've started seeing lots of talk about this on Facebook groups and people are saying you have to download bmtunes software wich is literally a knockoff of hts. People are saying that bmtunes has hidden code in the emulator and bmtunes tunning software and that hack your laptop or what ever computer you are using

    • @BudgetGears
      @BudgetGears  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I've had no such issues. Bmulator works just like how an ostrich used to work. I had no issues changing my vtec engagement using HTS or even with crome. As for wideband, where are you reading it? Make sure your gauge setting is set correctly and that you've calibrated it to whatever software you're using. I'm assuming HTS at the moment, so you can't just take the default settings in HTS, you need to calibrate it based on the tech sheets you should have received with your wideband.
      There is a lot of hate on the HTS group regarding bmtune and his products. The early versions of the software did trigger antivirus, which is why people say it hacks your computer etc. But you're not restricted to using bmtune. You can use many softwares to on the bmulator. There will always be haters online. I've got no opinion on the issue. Hondavert is another one people hate on. Personally, I buy whatever works and is affordable. I've had no issues with my bmulator. You just have to take all those comments in and make your own decision.

    Why you using 2 USB cables when you can connect the datalog port to the emulator and just use 1 USB cable?

    • @BudgetGears
      @BudgetGears  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is the latest emulator version from BMtune that doesn't have datalog. So it needs a separate way of transmitting the data to the software. I've since installed a bluetooth datalogger into the ECU and only need 1 cable now.

      @@breehernandez9551 V2 doesn't have such option. Check the website and look at my board. No battery or option on attaching datalog. Even says right on Marc's site that there's no datalog in this version and that it needs to be purchased separately. Your version is the only that has the datalog feature not mine. So I can't do the same. As mentioned, I've since installed a bluetooth datalogger. I'm completely wireless for datalogging. I was hoping that he kept the V1 with the datalogging like yours, but oh well. V2 works fine though. It doesn't matter to me because I just use for tuning and then I burn the tune to a chip.

    • @BudgetGears
      @BudgetGears  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'd suggest to contact Marc from bmtune or check with the bmtune group and see if others can help. My version didn't have a datalogger. However, you can just disconnect the pins to the datalogger and plug a ftdi cable in and see if you can datalog. This can rule out if its your ecu or the emulator. Datalogging is all driven off the cn2 port. You can even hook up a Bluetooth datalogger like what I did in my other video.

    @DomkeBoy ปีที่แล้ว +1

    From what I’ve gathered this drops right into an already socketed ecu correct? Such as the standard chip socket, unlike Hondata etc.
    I have a P28 that’s currently got a chip in it, and I would love to reuse it. I plan to boost my d16y8, and just discovered this emulator today.

    • @BudgetGears
      @BudgetGears  ปีที่แล้ว

      Technically, it should be soldered into place, but I just dropped it into the chip socket. What I didnt show in the video is that I made some feet for the board to give it support while in the socket. But yes, it can drop right in and work like that. Its how I use it. Once I'm done tuning, I just burn my map to a chip and pull emulator out. You can very well run it on the emulator permanently too. Its a great emulator for the price. Does what I need it to do. 😁

    • @BudgetGears
      @BudgetGears  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DomkeBoy Yes, I 3d printed little feet that clip onto the edge of the board that holds it up. So kind of like a table with legs. Just to support the board cause it can get disconnected if you accidentally push on the board edge, but really if you're tuning, you won't be touching the ecu. So once it's tuned, you burn the map to a chip and pop it out. So same result with or without the legs. But since I street tuned my car, I didn't want the board to come off the socket accidentally.

    • @DomkeBoy
      @DomkeBoy ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BudgetGears Well that’s awesome! I would most likely leave it in the ecu and daily it like that. Until I have another engine ready to tune in a different Honda. Then I might buy a chip burner, but for now I’d rather put the any money that’d cost towards an emulator.
      If I go this route could I possibly purchase those 3D printed legs from you?
