The state saw that Olivia was fit they gave Noah to her. Even if they did find the grandmother before Olivia adopting him social services would’ve done an investigation to see if the grandmother was fit or not. And if they deemed her crazy Olivia would still be named the guardian and then she would’ve adopted him afterwards anyways

But, looks may look more then they seem to be. Still she has lot her husband & her daughter. She's only hurting, sad, alone & regretting of what happen in the past.

Before this scene, all I felt was distrust and hatred towards Sheila for what she put Olivia through. But during Sheila and Olivia's confrontation, I can see how much Sheila was unhinged by grief. She was clearly using Noah to fill in the hole Ellie left behind. A small part of me felt sorry for her. I think Olivia did too.
I cannot help but point out the word "using" in your comment because that's exactly what Sheila was doing to Noah. She had no right to use him in any way... I don't care if it was to replace Ellie or whatever the reason. It's sad that we live in a world where people like Sheila feel the need to use children for their own selfish means. You can feel sorry for her all you want and Olivia may have even felt sorry for her but I sure as heck don't.

What makes this heartbreaking is that while Olivia saw this as an opportunity to expand her family. Shelia saw this as the opposite. It’s a shame and devastating. Noah could have had more people to his support group.

If I was Shelia, I’d be so grateful that a good person is taking care of my grandson. Olivia loves Noah with all her heart and takes such good care of him. I would’ve tried to see him, yes, but not kidnap him lmao. I’m sure if she was nice about it Olivia would’ve let her see him.
This episode, sure was breath taking, cliffhanger moments. Involving Olivia & Shelia over "Noah". The scene here, surely was so emotional & adrenaline rush. Between a grandmother & adoptive mother of Noah. For what Shelia did & put Olivia in such hell of finding him & odds she battled. It's not gonna to be easy to forgive & forget. She'll do little time for kidnapping, endangering a minor & her accomplices may get deals in the trial. Even she has lost so much: husband, daughter & her grandson is only family left. Still regrets of what happen in the past with Ellie. To Liv' is the only mom to Noah, has ever known, love & treats him just as if he's her own child. She's cop but she keeps balance of being a L.T. & a parent. Love isn't by blood, it's the feeling for someone who's just as if were he or she actually relative. She & noah deserved to be happy as a family.

This was horrible acting in my opinion. Olivia has the opportunity to tell her what really made a mother and instead all she said was, "legally I'm his mother." Of course she did say, "Blood isn't all that makes a mother" but she had a great opportunity to tell how that loving and nurturing, being there in the middle of the night, knowing what a child loves and doesn't, dressing and feeding and so much more makes a mother. Also when Noah came out there at the end she had the perfect chance to take Sheila down but instead she just holds her? Nah, terrible acting.
I was suspicious of the gramdmother from the beginning when she tried to have the adoption overturned. How did she even know that she had a grandchild? There is a reason that Ellie said both of her parents were dead. What she thought that she was going to get away with kiddnapping a cops child?
I was surprised by how she almost immediately agreed with Olivia's proposal when they met at the cafe after the trial fight some episodes earlier. And Olivia was right to not be so trustful with her at the beginning after all...
Sheila had hired a Private investigator to find Noah but when the SVU tried to find any biological relatives for Noah (when he was a baby) they couldn’t find anyone so Judge Linden ask Olivia if she wanted to adopt him. I wonder what was the reason Ellie said both of her parents were dead
Olivia did everything right with Sheila, and Sheila threw it all away when she tried to keep him for herself. Too much of a good thing can land you in hot water
They’re going to be some serious fallout, from this episode. Lying to protect Olivia, beating up suspects, Ellie’s mom comment about how Olivia is never there.
Sheila couldn't justify kidnapping Noah. But since he was the only family she had left. I couldn't help feeling sorry for her. Sheila may have blamed herself for Ellie's death and for what happened to her. But Noah wasn't her 2nd chance to be a mom. Like Olivia said, Noah's her son not a way for Sheila to ease her guilt. Taking Noah wasn't gonna bring Ellie back or change the past.
I never trusted this woman. She gave up way after the judge said she could not challenge the adoption. As soon as Noah was kidnapped I knew she was behind it.

I am just remembering how Brooke Shields talked about her postpartum depression a few years ago... She must have channeled a lot of that into this role.
I like how Benson asks Shiela if she thought about what this would do for Noah and she responds with he will adapt. Yeah like killing Benson would be something Noah would forget about. She will be a fugitive for life and the US Marshals and federal authorities will never stop looking for her and Noah and they will have to both live a miserable life on the run for Shiela’s actions. She’s not thinking about Noah there she is thinking about herself.
A mom is someone who cares for you when you're sick, when you have a broken heart, they listen to you when things aren't going right. A mom isn't necessarily a woman who gave birth to you.

Benson is a Beast of a mother! You try and take her son away from her! She will rain down an ungodly fire storm on you! She will move heaven and earth just to get Noah back. She is a great and amazing mother.

"You can always sign another piece of paper." Sheila should have realized that a person can't replace someone that has been lost. Noah's a part of Olivia just like Ellie was a part of Sheila. Noah wasn't going to fill that void in her heart and another child wouldn't fill the void in Olivia's heart.
I dont feel sorry for Shelia at all. She wasnt there for her daughter at all. That's part of the reason no one knew of her to be able to alert her since normally the courts wouldve tried to give Noah to a biological relative if possible. Shelia is trying to change the past and thinks stealing Noah away is somehow justified.
I have been an SVU fan from the very beginning but this episode slayed me. My Grandmother was a chosen child. I was a chosen child and my to children are chosen. One made the decision to seek out and find their biological parent. It was the hardest thing I had ever experienced, even beyond fighting cancer 3 times. But, in the end I was glad I let it happened and that I helped. My child' s recommittment to me as their parent proved to me, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Blood is NOT thicker than water. Love will conquer all and every decision and action you take reverberates and impacts you beyond what you may even think about.
I was actually just thinking about this. Think I’m of the sheer strength between the two mothers when they are fighting at the door. Olivia has taken down many many people even very big men but she had issues restraining shiela because of the strength that becomes almost superhuman when a mother is trying to “rescue” their child. And the fact that benson could restrain her was probably only because of her police background and she had the exact same feeling of needing to rescue HER child. This is a scene where we literally see two mothers fighting probably at their strongest for the same child. A sick one and the real one.
If you think about it, they’ve both lost so much. Noah’s grandmother lost her husband and her daughter. Olivia has lost her mother, some of her friends like Agent Lauren Cooper and Sonia Paxton have died and some of her other friends like Captain Cragen and Elliot Stabler have moved on from SVU. It’s, sad, heartbreaking, and painful; they’ve lost so much.
Yeah, especially when she went to all the court hearings about him. Olivia & Noah are mother & son , no matter what. There was no living relatives for Noah at this moment. But in Season 24, it turn out Noah has a half brother named Connor (Johnny D other son)

This was a great scene. Brooke and Mariska both were fantastic. Also I called it a few weeks back. It was grandma.

What makes this heartbreaking is that while Olivia saw this as an opportunity to expand her family. Shelia saw this as the opposite. It’s a shame and devastating. Noah could have had more people to his support group.

If I was Shelia, I’d be so grateful that a good person is taking care of my grandson. Olivia loves Noah with all her heart and takes such good care of him. I would’ve tried to see him, yes, but not kidnap him lmao. I’m sure if she was nice about it Olivia would’ve let her see him.

This episode, sure was breath taking, cliffhanger moments. Involving Olivia & Shelia over "Noah". The scene here, surely was so emotional & adrenaline rush. Between a grandmother & adoptive mother of Noah. For what Shelia did & put Olivia in such hell of finding him & odds she battled. It's not gonna to be easy to forgive & forget. She'll do little time for kidnapping, endangering a minor & her accomplices may get deals in the trial. Even she has lost so much: husband, daughter & her grandson is only family left. Still regrets of what happen in the past with Ellie. To Liv' is the only mom to Noah, has ever known, love & treats him just as if he's her own child. She's cop but she keeps balance of being a L.T. & a parent. Love isn't by blood, it's the feeling for someone who's just as if were he or she actually relative. She & noah deserved to be happy as a family.

This was horrible acting in my opinion. Olivia has the opportunity to tell her what really made a mother and instead all she said was, "legally I'm his mother." Of course she did say, "Blood isn't all that makes a mother" but she had a great opportunity to tell how that loving and nurturing, being there in the middle of the night, knowing what a child loves and doesn't, dressing and feeding and so much more makes a mother. Also when Noah came out there at the end she had the perfect chance to take Sheila down but instead she just holds her? Nah, terrible acting.

I was suspicious of the gramdmother from the beginning when she tried to have the adoption overturned. How did she even know that she had a grandchild? There is a reason that Ellie said both of her parents were dead. What she thought that she was going to get away with kiddnapping a cops child?
I was surprised by how she almost immediately agreed with Olivia's proposal when they met at the cafe after the trial fight some episodes earlier. And Olivia was right to not be so trustful with her at the beginning after all...
Sheila had hired a Private investigator to find Noah but when the SVU tried to find any biological relatives for Noah (when he was a baby) they couldn’t find anyone so Judge Linden ask Olivia if she wanted to adopt him. I wonder what was the reason Ellie said both of her parents were dead
Olivia did everything right with Sheila, and Sheila threw it all away when she tried to keep him for herself. Too much of a good thing can land you in hot water

Sheila couldn't justify kidnapping Noah. But since he was the only family she had left. I couldn't help feeling sorry for her. Sheila may have blamed herself for Ellie's death and for what happened to her. But Noah wasn't her 2nd chance to be a mom. Like Olivia said, Noah's her son not a way for Sheila to ease her guilt. Taking Noah wasn't gonna bring Ellie back or change the past.
I never trusted this woman. She gave up way after the judge said she could not challenge the adoption. As soon as Noah was kidnapped I knew she was behind it.

I figured Sheila had something to do with Noah getting taken when they was at the mall trying on coats for Noah. Sheila had her back turn & he was gone. Good thing the SVU found out that it was Sheila & got Noah back unharmed. Sheila & her accomplice deserves to go to jail. Olivia shouldnt let Noah see Sheila til he is older
I am just remembering how Brooke Shields talked about her postpartum depression a few years ago... She must have channeled a lot of that into this role.

I like how Benson asks Shiela if she thought about what this would do for Noah and she responds with he will adapt. Yeah like killing Benson would be something Noah would forget about. She will be a fugitive for life and the US Marshals and federal authorities will never stop looking for her and Noah and they will have to both live a miserable life on the run for Shiela’s actions. She’s not thinking about Noah there she is thinking about herself.
A mom is someone who cares for you when you're sick, when you have a broken heart, they listen to you when things aren't going right. A mom isn't necessarily a woman who gave birth to you.

"You can always sign another piece of paper." Sheila should have realized that a person can't replace someone that has been lost. Noah's a part of Olivia just like Ellie was a part of Sheila. Noah wasn't going to fill that void in her heart and another child wouldn't fill the void in Olivia's heart.
I dont feel sorry for Shelia at all. She wasnt there for her daughter at all. That's part of the reason no one knew of her to be able to alert her since normally the courts wouldve tried to give Noah to a biological relative if possible. Shelia is trying to change the past and thinks stealing Noah away is somehow justified.

I have been an SVU fan from the very beginning but this episode slayed me. My Grandmother was a chosen child. I was a chosen child and my to children are chosen. One made the decision to seek out and find their biological parent. It was the hardest thing I had ever experienced, even beyond fighting cancer 3 times. But, in the end I was glad I let it happened and that I helped. My child'
s recommittment to me as their parent proved to me, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Blood is NOT thicker than water. Love will conquer all and every decision and action you take reverberates and impacts you beyond what you may even think about.

I won’t lie, this scene broke my heart a little bit
I was actually just thinking about this. Think I’m of the sheer strength between the two mothers when they are fighting at the door. Olivia has taken down many many people even very big men but she had issues restraining shiela because of the strength that becomes almost superhuman when a mother is trying to “rescue” their child. And the fact that benson could restrain her was probably only because of her police background and she had the exact same feeling of needing to rescue HER child. This is a scene where we literally see two mothers fighting probably at their strongest for the same child. A sick one and the real one.
I wonder if they're gonna keep Sheila around after this. Like work on her case or???

If you think about it, they’ve both lost so much. Noah’s grandmother lost her husband and her daughter. Olivia has lost her mother, some of her friends like Agent Lauren Cooper and Sonia Paxton have died and some of her other friends like Captain Cragen and Elliot Stabler have moved on from SVU. It’s, sad, heartbreaking, and painful; they’ve lost so much.

Yeah, especially when she went to all the court hearings about him. Olivia & Noah are mother & son , no matter what. There was no living relatives for Noah at this moment. But in Season 24, it turn out Noah has a half brother named Connor (Johnny D other son)
