Funny enough, in the comics the standard Hulk, also known as Savage Hulk is sometimes also called Baby Hulk because of his childlike mentality.

Banner lived as hulk for probably a lot longer than 2 years. On earth, hulk was missing for 2 years but as we've seen in Ragnarok, time works differently on that planet (I don't remember the name exactly). Thor took a few seconds more than Loki to arrive there and Loki said he's been there for weeks. Imagine this for 2 years, I think Hulk has been there for many many years.
It's a damn shame they never had him say his famous "Hulk smash!" more than once.
Well Steve told him to smash in The Avengers movie but in endgame he told Prof Hulk to "Smash a couple things" in the time heist prolly referring to "Hulk Smash"
If you watched the Incredible Hulk movie with I forgot his name during the fight with abomination he says hulk smash

Thor Ragnarök has the best representation of Hulk in my opinion.
He was as strong and prone to anger as always, but he has grown sociable enough to show some self-control too.
Not to mention it was great hearing him talk more while still having his Hulk-like intellect.
I didn't hate the "Banner/Hulk" hybrid as much as everyone else does, but I can see why they prefer this version.
I think the issue isn't that Bruce Banner and Hulk came full-circle in Endgame, I think the issue is they came full-circle *too early.*
Hopefully for everyone, "Banner/Hulk" is more of a "Hulk on safety mode" thing and not a *permanent solution,* because I think it would be more interesting for Hulk to show more self control WITHOUT needing Bruce Banner.

Fun fact: In the comics, the reason Hulk has child-like mannerisms is because Banner was physically abused as a child by his father and subconsciously created Hulk as a way to cope with the trauma.

This Hulk was way too short lived. Before he was just mindless, and now he’s just Banner. This was the perfect blend of savageness and intelligence that Hulk needed for depth that still kept his character. Infinity War ruined him

I like Hulk’s sense of humor, he’s a funny guy when he’s comfortable.
I like how Thor Ragnarok kinda humanized Hulk a little bit, he talked the most in this movie and you see a bit of Banner when they sit down and talk after arguing with each other. It's why I believe that Hulk and Thor are my favourite Marvel duo because their characters work so well together, Thor isn't from Earth but rather Asgard, a faraway place and sometimes hasn't felt like he belonged there, whilst Hulk feels like Earth hates him and would much rather be in a different place. But deep down they both know the other Avengers have their backs.

What I like about this Hulk is it's still Banner, just a different side of him but also still the Hulk. Hulk and Banner are the same, but this is the side of Banner he doesn't want people to see, the side where they view him as a threat, where they're always cautious about him. This is Banner if Banner didn't care about anything and just wanted to be "free."
But when on Planet Selene, he feels like he's something more and something special which he never felt before.

I love the development of hulk from the movies. At first he is like a toddler that’s extremely jacked and throws tantrums. But when Banner is stranded on Sakaar he stays as the hulk. And due to the hulk basically having full control for years he was able to grow up in a sense, instead of constant “tantrums” and limited emotions he becomes more human. He also is able to talk more, express more, and have more control as a individual being.
They do it for most all the characters. Putting the different variations from the comics into each movie.
