    Thank you! Used this formula on a few stairs of a new rental property we just acquired....Wow, what a difference just using a pressurized sprayer and wet/dry vac........Now I use this formula to pre-treat all the carpet, agitated with a brush, let sit for awhile.....and then use a steam cleaner with plain water........as cleaner left in the carpet can attract more dirt....no need to buy those over-priced liquid rental machine cleaners😎

    DUDE! I watched this video a few months ago, maybe even last year. I bought the ingredients as per Julio's instructions and they sat in my garage collecting dust. I had a bottle of ice tea break in my back seat and stain the floor. THat's what I was originally going to use the solution for. BUT I didn't use this on that. However I did use it on my son's F150 today. HOLY TOLEDO! I wish I had taken before pictures ( and smell-o-vision) to give a comparison. Well actually there is NO comparison. Long story short. The previous owner had dogs which rode in the truck. Despite vacuuming several times (even with scented baking soda carpet cleaner) the smell just wouldn't leave. So today (a rainy Michigan afternoon) I tried the solution/technique and WOW! The carpet and seats look BRAND new and smell amazing. I love you guys! Thanks so much for all you do.......Namaste!

      Wish I would've seen this video years ago... my sister had a ford escort and the previous owner let the dogs loose in the car. Many failed attempts to get rid of the smell. Heater core went out and I fixed it for her. Tore the dash, console, and front seats out and told her, "if you want to seriously clean this carpet now is the time" probably couple fistfuls of fur inside the center console alone... I'll never buy a car that smells like dog after that

    I just used your formula, but I used about half of the Ajax on my living room carpets (I didn't want too much foaming action). I made sure everything was wet, but the bad stains I put on more and scrubbed it very well. I rented a rug cleaner and only put plain hot water in it. My light tan (previous home owners choice, NOT mine) carpets are like new. I had a "professional" carpet cleaner in last year and he didn't get the carpet anywhere near this clean. I'm SO grateful for this! Thank you

      @picksy26 3 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      @@z.woolley8895 I didn’t flood it. I did put extra on the spots where I had stains and let it sit for 30 mins - a few spots I just let soak and hard ones I did scrub with a brush to really get in the fibers- Then I put the solution in my carpet cleaner and cleaned the floor with it. It pulled the stain and cleaned the rest of the carpet wonderfully. There was a few spots I had to spot treatment a few times. Like I said it was a rental unit and had stains for years. Then I went over the whole carpet with my carpet cleaner once more with just water. I didn’t want to leave the solution in the carpet. I hope this helps.

    Your mix of cleaners and the wet/dry vac and brush method works better than any name brand "steam cleaner" or professional I've ever used. With the exception of the oxy clean I bought all my supplies at the dollar store. I used a small $20 Stanley shop vac from Wal-Mart. Worked great on a 20 year old car that was used and abused. I've watched this video so many times over the years. But I just realized one could possibly do this without the hose. Just make another bottle with the little hole in the top and fill it with plain water and use that for the rinse. I mean the hose is probably better but for people that live in an apartment or don't have access to a hose it could work.

    Nice! I did the Dutch version of this yesterday😉. As in. The oxi cleaner isn't sold here. Replaced it with a cheap knock of. Overdid it a bit with the dishwasher first try😅. But. I used it on the carpet mats from my '79 Volvo 240 wagon. Spread them out outside and went to work on them. And holy cow👌. I rinsed them out with a garden hose instead of the water vacuum cleaner. It broke after 1 minute so I had to improvise😂. In the end this worked wonders and the carpet is as new. Good for another 40 years👌👌.

    All I'd do differently is try to suck up as much of the soap as possible before putting rinse water on the carpet. It will make the rinsing less of a job. Also, use white vinegar in the last rinse, when the rinse water starts looking pretty clean. It will get all the soap out. The smell doesn't last. I do this when I shampoo my carpets.

      I think as long as you can extract or towel up most of the liquid, it’s probably okay unless the rug is very delicate. Try testing it on a hidden area first to be sure. Normally oxyclean is used in the washing machine, and flushed out with the rinse cycle. Probably not good to have too many chemicals hanging about in the carpets, especially if you walk around barefoot, have kids or pets that seem to put everything from the floor into their mouths (even their own feet, lol!) I’d maybe use a little less oxyclean, and an extra water rinse afterwards if I tried this on my home carpets (which I will eventually) just to be extra sure nothing lingers, but that’s just me. Good luck! :)

    If the carpets are really dirty, I'll take the seats out and remove the carpet. (Not hard to do on many cars.) Solves the extractor issue as you can just hose the carpet down instead after you do all the scrubbing. Also, a lot of cars are very dirty where it is hard to get at between the seats.

    Very impressive! I am curious, could this cause a floor pan rust problem? Could it make [hidden] rust worse? My project car is over 20 years old and my solution, to ease my mind, would be to take out the carpet and then clean it this way in a bin (so I can still flood it). If I did that would it cause the carpet to stretch?

    • @SweetProjectCars
      @SweetProjectCars  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      HWandW you will have no worries with this you don't not have to take the carpet out of the car all you do is make sure that you remove as much water from the carpeting and then leave the doors open on a nice warm day you can also put a fan on it and that will speed it up but there are no worries we've done this for a very long no issues whatsoever thank you for the great question

    Okay... seriously. If I could attach a picture, I would. BUT THIS WORKS. I used it on actual carpet (probably not a good idea) but it made the carpet SPOTLESS. Thank you for allowing me to get my security deposit back. 😁 ACTUAL LIFESAVER!

    I'm trying to add pics but I can't figure it out. Anyway, our carpets look like crack head carpets haha. We live in military housing and these carpets stain black just with water. I have a toddler and I spill every drink I have. I tried 2-3 different things, scrubbing every square inch and the stains came right back!! So I found this video and tried a deep black stain.... I did everything, scrubbed it really quick and then scrubbed it up with a towel and it CAME RIGHT OUT!! All of it!!!! Just like that!! I'm freaking out so amazed! I'm currently doing my whole carpets but thank you because this saved thousands of dollars for when we move out!:)

    It's funny seeing the comments "add bleach or peroxide", isn't that kind of redundant to using the Oxi-clean? (Basically any of those is an oxidizer.)

    • @SweetProjectCars
      @SweetProjectCars  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      you are correct Paul. Some comments were a couple trolls trying to be funny about adding bleach..I figure most people saw right through that.
