    I got a TSR2 and I love it! When I got fitted, I was swinging it slower (4 MPH) and hitting it further compared to the Sealth 2, Paradym, and new Ping.

    Even though I'm somewhat biased (I play Callaway woods and a Rogue driver) I think you should definately go with the Paradygm since you like the sound at impact. Mentally, smiling at the sound when you pull off a nice drive cant help but put you in a positive mindset walking towards your next shot.

    This is just a perfect example of the importance of a fitting. All the major manufacturers club offerings are solid options. These days it really comes down to getting fit with the right shaft. Other than that the choice comes down to personal brand, sound and feel preference. Great video Matt, Much love. You can go ahead and send me whichever doesn't make it into your bag. 😜

      @@mattrollman13 That is usually with the understanding that one of the drivers they happen to show you end up buying. If you aren't crazy about anything they say "fits" then you will likely pay the fitting fee. Otherwise, they credit it toward your purchase.

      @@mattrollman13 This is typical experience. I understand you are saying "free fitting events". Outside of these times this is how it works. So if you are buying a new driver averaging $399.99 you are paying 39,000 pennies not including taxes. Also, how have you been fitted for every new driver and never got one? lol

    • @mattrollman13
      @mattrollman13 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bwayneoutdoors3690 I know how a typical fitting works. I’ve been fit for clubs and purchased clubs that I’ve been fit for. And generally yes that’s how it works when you do a fitting at those places they charge you a fee if you don’t buy. But every year when the new drivers are coming out, the company (titleist, ping, TM, etc) have fitting events at the golf galaxy or pga superstore. They are completely free even if you don’t buy. That’s why I’ve tried every 2023 driver for free. As to why I haven’t bought any? Only 3 drivers were better drivers than my current TM Sim, and 600 dollars isn’t worth 3 more yards on my drives, it’s not that hard when you have self control. In a few years when the paradym is 200-300 I’ll look into upgrading 😂

    My fitting came down to the TSR2 and the Paradigm as well (both same HZRDUS Black smoke 6.0 shaft). Tough decision but I went with the TSR2, better ball speeds for me, and slightly straighter. My vote is the TSR2.

  • @stephendibari5010
    @stephendibari5010 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Both are awesome drivers, it really comes down to a feel/sound when the numbers are that close. This past December I compared TSR2 vs my 2016 M2 with similar counterbalanced shafts and TSR2 and gained only 2 yards (about 1 mph ball speed). Certainly not worth spending $650 on a new driver for just 2 yards. Maybe more forgiving then my 2016 M2 but not making a move, maybe next year.

  • @BLiquido

    Dispersion and ball speed retention on miss hits was the best for me with Paradym vs TSR2 and all the other big brands. Got fit for a ventus red shaft.

  • @suegould4442
    @suegould4442 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great video. I was fitted yesterday, and saw similar results. Left miss flew higher and longer with the TSR2. Similar distance and ball speed. The Paradym weight set to fade produce nice fade shot for me, but I decided that gain won't help my game as much as the left miss hurts it. Ordered the TSR2 with kuro kage black 50g shaft.

  • @justincurti7913
    @justincurti7913 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    A Psychological consideration. Being that the two are so close, but you like the sound of the Paradym… pick the Paradym. Sounds bring pleasure. Which can bring/build confidence. This could potentially lead to consistency and progression in one’s golf game. Thus making for a better game of golf.
    Then again, what do I know… I’m just a simple minded dairy farmer from California. 😉

  • @Chas-man33
    @Chas-man33 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I wonder how the results would be if you used the same shaft for each head. Since this really boils down to preference, you would have to make that determination based on feel/sound. The only other complication I would consider would be adjustability.

  • @davidherndon301

    Very cool to see both are essentially the same. I have the older TS2. I liked the feel of the TS2 over the competitors. Smoke shaft broke and had to go with 65 grams for a next day tourney. 5 grams makes a big difference in weight surprisingly. I’m about to upgrade and send the old TS2 to the beach house golf bag to replace my very old RBZ. I’d like to see the stealth in comparison as well.

    Titleist is more consistent, I don‘t want a right miss to go further than my usual shot because it might get in trouble and I don‘t want my left miss to be low, because it might roll out further into the woods

  • @Ryan_Orion

    I personally got fit into a TSR2. It just does what it’s supposed. The Paradym is a bit more flashy which is neat but it’s not going to hold value compared to the TSR. So for most people brand new, I’d suggest Titleist. For you it’s irrelevant and I’m sure most will vote Callaway.

  • @uwrossl
    @uwrossl ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Had similar when testing recently with the difference being that the Rogue actually outshined the Paradym and made it into the final bracket with TSR2. Went with TSR2 simply because I have been playing Titleist since the TS line came out. The look suits my eye better for one but the biggest deciding factor is that I have a couple of custom fit shafts from previous Titleist drivers that I can test and interchange with the TSR2 without having to retip them with a new adaptor.

  • @Dbgolfnski
    @Dbgolfnski ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Data in the test is sufficiently similar so difficult to pick. For me it would boil down the the one that provided me with the most confidence of hitting the target, subliminal or not. But you need a vote. So…. A stud like you needs a Titleist! Fun video as always.

    I just had a fitting and it came down to the Paradym X and TSr 1. The Titleist was slightly longer with slightly better dispersion. Better smash with the Calloway. Went with the TSr1. How to pick - whatever looks and feels better, and if you're buying used, whatever is priced best. One benefit the Titleist has that Callaway doesn't is ability to go .75* flat but the Paradym is slightly flatter stock, so there's only a .25* difference. With the flat adapter, Callaway can go flatter for those of us who need it.

Mine is an 15 year old Driver or so from Dick's Sporting Goods and got like 16 extra yards average just by swinging the new Ping around. And it was so straight too. I just need to see if the Paradym can top it and see if I can push 225 on average cause that'd be just amazing. I pushed 220 with the Ping so

    I currently game the PXG 0211 driver. My "old" driver is an Adams Titanium 360 (20 + years old). My Adams driver is actually longer, however, with the PXG and the gear effect, the PXG is more forgiving. My PXG cost me $230...I could get my old Adams used for $50. At my level of golf a $500+ driver makes NO difference in my score. I would rather spend a bit more on wedges than drivers. But that is my findings..

    I was just fitted today at TXG. For me it was a close race between the TSR2 and Aerojet, but ultimately went with the TSR2 as it looked prettier. So I'm going to throw my vote for the TSR2, since it's a dead heat... might as well use a subjective tiebreaker.

    Just did this review... so excited to see the outcome! lets go!! ---- Just finished the video... So My suggestion @mr shortgame golf would be to create a Poll. I'm in a similar situation with Paradym vs G430 Max. My vote if I'm giving one would be the Paradym. From my testing against these two the Paradym gives a bit more distance and is pretty forgiving, if we are talking about TSR 3 vs Paradym... we are having a different conversation. TSR 2 is a little more accurate than Paradym but Paradym would be overall winner to put in your bag.

    Pretty similar... Looks like you got a few more carry yards with the TSR2. I have the TSR3 and love it! But, In your case with them being both so similar. I think that is when you have to make your decision off of look at address, which looks better to your eye, the sound, feel (weighting) and the feel of the ball coming off the face. I think we are at a point with drivers you almost cant go wrong with anyone. Its is which one looks better, sounds better, and feels better to you.

  • @dbenson7205

    Shaft and loft/lie could adjust either to be even better with how consistent your swing is. Close call. I tried a Motore shaft and it cut the distance down but the dispersion got way tighter. I tend to like that little higher flight because I can plan better on how far it'll roll out. Therefore I would say get the perfect shaft in the titleist.

Callaway has stayed in the bag!

    I tried out the Paradym triple diamond 9 degree lifted down to an 8 degree, a paradym 9 degree at neutral with weight shifted to draw setting, and then the Titleist TSR2 with 9 degree loft. I have Callaway woods hybrids irons and wedges. Thought I was gonna replace my 09 taylormade burner with a paradym, but ultimately I hit the TSR2 about 20 yards further and more consistent shot path.
    So while my bag and most clubs are Callaway, my beginning (driver) and end (Scotty Cameron putter) are Titleist.
    I think the Titleist will have a better resale value down the road too.
    Both destroyed my old 09 Burner. Just the feel of the club, feels like it follows the correct arch/path automatically.

    A lot of confidence comes from feel and look at address. If the sound is comparable and the difference negligible then with the numbers tested I would say TSR2. But if the sound and distance on the far right misses are winning you over then it’s the Paradym. Keep in mind RAhm has won 3 times this year,right. My issue with the far right misses in my case would be I miss right anyway on my bad shots and that would only exasperate the problem.

    I did the demo fit with the Paradym a while back with the kai'li. I tested the TSR2 on trackman with the tensie black and it was great. I ordered a Paradym on the double trade in deal with a hzardous gen4 black. I also hurt my wrist, just got it xrayed and not broken so hopefully will be healing soon. I have the kai'li 60s and the hzardous black 6.0 along with my old IM10 green 6.0 to duke it out. I have very similar numbers to yours at 103-105SS and a 4-5* launch. I don't do great with smooth shafts though. I have 2 shots, a pull and a pull cut basically. My old GBB Epic was a beast but looking for a little more forgiveness and need my misses to be a little better. It's the #1 thing holding me back as a 13 cap is consistency off the tee. My last 3 rounds playing a par 3 course with my kid I'm 3 over par for 27 holes. Need to get that ball out there with a shot inside 180 pretty much and I should be able to get to singles no problem.

      I’ve recently been having driver issues so I completely put it away and went irons only. Par 5 wide open fairway? 5 iron off the tee lol. Never touched a wood. Went from shooting in the 90s with driver to 86 first try then 81, then 40 and 39 because I only had time for 9 the last couple. Also I have the same SS as you and maybe similar handicap, idk I shoot low 80s when I’m playing good. This exercise made me realize I hit driver way too often. For example there are 375 yard par 4s with hazards I don’t have to hit driver. Also I recently upgraded from players irons to t200s, so in this example I can hit 5 iron off tee to 8 iron in and swing easy. Another is the 320 yard par 4. Crushing a perfect drive leaves me at a disadvantage, 5 iron is perfect distance. Doglegs where I need to shape a drive over/around trees? I need to take my medicine and poke a 7 iron out there lol. Good luck figuring it out bud

    Super close, but I would go with the TSR. The main reason is because the TSR's mishits seem to be more predictable in regards to distance. The paradym's furthest drive was on a mishit fade, and it's left misses are super short, meaning your 2nd shot will likely be more difficult than a miss with the TSR. Also, considering that you naturally draw the ball, why go with the driver that goes furthest when you hit a fade?

    I had the original Stealth driver hitting 48% of the of the fairways, so I upgraded to the Stealth 2 driver. Now, I hit every fairway, which has lowered my score.. I'd say that whichever driver you feel most comfortable with, then go with that one.

    I agree with the Callaway "sound'.......never had much luck with drivers that sounded loud, tinny or otherwise..........(big price tag though!)

  • @joejohnson5322
    @joejohnson5322 ปีที่แล้ว

    Callaway for me. Love the new look plus has a tiny bit more spin. Same distance with a little more spin puts you in the fairway more.

  • @johnschuh4753
    @johnschuh4753 ปีที่แล้ว

    Titleist for sure lower spin is better for carry. I have tried the Callaway drivers they are not for me nor was Titleist drivers till the TSR came out. I had a hard time giving up my PXG gen5 driver. I have the TSR3. My buddy even switched from his PXG to the TSR and that was hard for him to do.

    I was just watching this video because I’m picking up a Paradym driver. You mentioned that you were using the RCT ball but your track man was displaying backspin italicized which means it’s estimating or I should say calculating and not measuring back spin. Was there an issue using the RCT ball. I usually use the metal dot and never have an issue.

    For merhat Titleist TSR 2 is a game changer.Love the feel especially with hazardous shaft.

  • @daveb.9130
    @daveb.9130 ปีที่แล้ว

    Both are excellent clubs, would it be more beneficial to have the same shaft in both clubs for the testing? I don't know much about the Paradym shaft you used, but the ventus is a winner all the way around. Tough call, I have had both manufacturers, but have played better golf off the tee with the Callaway. The forgiveness is a selling point for alot of people, cause we all know that we don't hit the center every time. Good luck picking one.

    Not enough shots to really tell a difference, but when it's this close I'd choose the Titleist. Golf is a game of confidence and what really counts is which club you feel most confident with in your hand when standing over a vital tee shot.

  • @Sluggo717
    @Sluggo717 ปีที่แล้ว

    So close it would come down to looks and sound. So I believe you said you liked the Paradym sound however the look of the Titleiest is a factor as well. Can’t go wrong with either but I’m more of a Titleiest fan over Callaway, so I say TSR.

    Paradym - I'm terrible but I love hitting the Triple Diamond driver. It's so much fun. Never could get the Titleist drivers to work. Everything else I have is Ping G425.

    Both great clubs, play TSr 3 myself 65 Tensei Blue stiff. Going to have to say what you feel best with. I personally would play a couple rounds on the course with both and go from there. Bias rating TSr.

  • @stewartbrown7126
    @stewartbrown7126 ปีที่แล้ว

    both clubs performed equally well when hit well. I would be swayed by the performance with the poorer shots, the pulls to the left, which were significantly worse with the Paradym, indicating that the TSR2 was more forgiving and consistent with off centre hits. The TSR2 would be my choice.

  • @DennisLindley-sr4ye

    Since the data is so close, would pick the TSR2. Classic look with the Fujikura shaft and better match for the rest of your clubs.

    Not watched yet, but 1000% TSR2. I have used them all, and TSR blew them all away. When I got fitted Titleist was not even on the table, but I tried it for the hell of it and it is the best by a mile, however, I picked up the TSR3 specifically.

    Call away did such a good job marketing the Paradym. I see it winning just off of that. I personally would choose the Titleist. They have always produced great clubs and they have always been the “business suit” style of golf equipment

    TSR2 in my eyes a much better looking golf driver and better ball speed , once you get all the kinks out it will be your ultimate Driver, I believe the TSR 3 has that ball of the bat sound a little better then the 2 just my opinion!! Thanks Great review!!

  • @johnklask8637
    @johnklask8637 ปีที่แล้ว

    Efficiency is better with TSR however club head speed faster with Paradym. The question is if you are getting better club head speed because of the club or just because you were more warmed up. Because if you can get the same club head speed with the TSR and the better efficiency then then go with TSR.

    Think you gotta go with the Paradym. Just slightly better. 1 more fairway hit, longer on miss-hit/more forgiving. It's close but add in the adjustability and the Paradym takes it imo.
