  • The Girsan MC P35 is a brand new pistol for 2022. It is a single action only budget friendly clone of the classic Browning Hi Power. Girsan is breaking new ground here, attempting to compete in the Hi Power market for much less than all of its competition.

    David Attenborough:
    Here we see The Outlaw has been forced out of his own territory in search of New guns and warmth as the brutal Iowa winter sets in. In waterloo, he finds what he's looking for. A target rich indoor range and best of all, a new Hi-Power he uses for sustenance. If the Outlaw doesn't shoot twice a week, he will surely die.

    I won’t even consider buying a gun unless I see a review from Honest Outlaw or Hickok 45. And clearly they are the two best marksmen making videos on TH-cam.

      @@dukenukem9666 the CZ 75 platform is kind of like an improvement on the original Browning Hi-Power in my opinion. The major differences I noticed is that the CZ 75 doesn't have a magazine disconnect, has a better trigger, has more capacity, and has the slide riding inside the frame rails.

    • @BloodEagle.
      @BloodEagle. 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@JacksonWalter735 absolutely I agree. CZ runs a low bore axis, carries the slide rails inside the frame, fantastic stock triggers, better sights and I mean just dog easy to service.

  • @athos1029
    @athos1029 2 ปีที่แล้ว +230

    Try removing the magazine disconnect. That should solve the magazine fall free issue. It's a fairly simple procedure and doesn't change the way the gun works in fact the SA-35 omitted the disconnect completely.

    • @DLordSadow
      @DLordSadow 2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      It might also be that the mag well is really hugging the magazine tight. I had to take a file to the inside of the mag well of my Tisas BR9 to get the magazines to fall out even after removing the magazine safety.

    • @OhioCruffler
      @OhioCruffler 2 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      It's the mag safety keeping the mag in the gun. Remove that and the mag drops free, dry-firing gets easier, and it improves your trigger pull. It'll take you ten minutes to remove two pieces. Costs nothing.

    • @easbreid9879
      @easbreid9879 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      If that is possible, id be seriously interested, only thing i dont like is the mag disconnect and those stripped sights. Gonna either pick up one of these or the SA-35, anyone know if Girsan has a customer service state side?

    • @blackhawk7r221
      @blackhawk7r221 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Removing the mag safety definitely improved the trigger on mine.

    • @DLordSadow
      @DLordSadow 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Let me add that while the mag disconnect is definitely part of the problem, it’s not the whole problem when it comes to magazines not dropping free from the gun. Keeping magazines from dropping free is a feature, not a big of the Hi-Power design (the French army made this feature a design requirement, they didn’t want their officers to lose magazines in the field ). The mag well is therefore designed to keep magazines from dropping free. Also, I’ve found that the sear spring can bow out and rub against the back of the magazine, keeping it from dropping free as well.

    My first handgun purchase in 1969, when I was finally old enough was a Browning Hi-Power. It was initially fun to shoot, but the trigger sucked. Back then you could send your hi-Power in to an expert shop to get a $100 trigger job. Instead, I moved on to a Ruger Security Six and put the HP on the back burner for nearly 20 years. Eventually I found out that everyone was doing their own "trigger jobs" by simply removing the mag disconnect. it took all of 30 minutes to do the job - including making the sandwich and pouring a beer afterward. On a real HP, the disconnector removal makes an enormous difference. I imagine it will make a big difference with the Girsan and Springfield Armory versions too.

      In the modern era I believe ergonomics are as important in re to a a first and lasting impression as the looks of a pistol. I too bought one in 94 (due to the attack on higher capacity mags at the time). If it feels good, you will work with it. Have bought many more ergonomic pistols since then but none like HP. Not sure if it’s the classic styling, rich history but I don’t know that another pistol has ever been built like that. Love the ergos of the M&P line, Compact Walthers and even the Taurus G3C but I always go back to the timeless HP. Thank you Mr Browning and Mr Saive and FN.
