There is just no excuse for a ship modeled after a Galaxy class with a dedicated weapons pod of that size to not be able to launch more torpedoes than a Galaxy class which doesn't have a dedicated weapons pod at all.
The Nebula class is more of a science ship while the Galaxy class is more for exploration. Since everything is more compact on a Nebula, hitting one spot can cause damage to multiple places versus a galaxy where everything is more spread out, mitigating some of the damage. That said, if the pod is a weapons pod, it really should be able to launch a heck of a lot more torpedos then it does. My guess is that the Nebula's pod wasn't a weapons pod but more of a science pod. Wouldn't mind seeing this battle again but with a tactical Nebula instead.
For people's edification: The Nebula is a *_multi-role heavy cruiser_* which can assume many mission profiles. Given the appropriate mission module, it can match the Galaxy Class in any one function. _It is not a dedicated science vessel per se._ With a tactical pod it can nearly match the Galaxy Class in weapons. With science and sensor pods it can be superior. However, it does have some of the tactical weaknesses of the Galaxy Class. The Nebula has a smaller warp core than the Galaxy Class that can only make Warp 9.3, has weaker shields than one might expect for such a big ship and lacks armor. Against dedicated heavy cruisers like the Vorcha, Marauder or Keldon Type IIs, the base-line multi-role Nebulas may struggle. *However, later Nebula models, with the larger warp core allowing them to make Warp 9.8+ and have stronger shields, and when equipped with the tactical pod, can be superior to all enemy heavy cruisers, even the newer Vorchas and Dominion War built Keldon Type IIIs.*
Isn't a Nebula with the weapons pod supposed to fire torpedoes like a drunk with Tourette's? Somethings off with that Nebula... I declare shenanigans!!!

After the previous video I have refined my request. Poor Voyager. Anyway. It is based loosely on Starfleet officers disobeying orders and the importance of the chain of command. Voyagers The Equinox Episode. Versus Sisko and the Defiant from Ds9s For The Uniform and the ships from both. It is basically a 6v2 was a 3vs1. Originally, it was just the Defiant. Chakotays Val Jean Raider wasn't destroyed and added to the Voyager trio. I wondered if Voyager actually teamed up with the Equinox and got home. They joined the Maquis and got a little help from Eddington and the Maquis to escape the court martials.
I always got the impression that the Galaxy was more for long duration missions, far away from support. The Nebula is more for shorter missions defending home space.
I always liked the Nebula over the galaxy class. It shows how putting parts together in a certain way can make an ugly design like the galaxy look better.
It seems the tractor beams are generally are the first thing to be taken out on a ship, especially a Federation ship lol. After the Vor'cha blew up oh man your crew threw a tantrum protest with how close you were to that explosion! LOL It is interesting how much weaker the Nebula class is compared to the Vor'cha. Then again it's a weaker version of it's Galaxy class' big sister. Ya the Vor'cha's are pretty devastating. I mean hell look at how big of a pounding one gave to the Defiant in "Way Of The Warrior" when they were rescuing Dukat from a Klingon attack. If it hadn't been for Worf's quick thinking they would have been heavily damaged
I wonder if the Nebula is a better tactical ship than the Galaxy, considering the Phoenix with its shields down could still easily trample a Galor class that had warning and prep time, yet the Generations Enterprise in the same kind of scenario received critical damage from an antique Bird of Prey without dishing much out in return. (Or maybe Maxwell is just a better captain than Riker) Perhaps a TNG Galor class vs. the Duras sisters' BOP would be a good match up to try?
I would think that backfire guns would be very honorable, if you were jousting. The attacking ship makes a pass firing all of it's forward weapons, then gets one more good blast in, on the way out. Recharge weapons and repeat.
I think they designed the Nebula class to not be quite as powerful as the Galaxy class to avoid taking too much of the audience's attention away from the grandeur of the Galaxy. The Galaxy class was supposed to be the top-of-the-line, most powerful ship and the Federation flagship. Similar reason why they couldn't make the Defiant in DS9 a huge boisterous battleship, because it would have overshadowed the role of the station.
Funny thing is the Nebula looks better than the ugly galaxy class which use the same exact parts minus the pod. The difference is that it could pass as an advanced Miranda type ship as they share the same profile and look. Which is funny because the Miranda and her Connie counterpart both look beautiful. Makes me wish the Nebula was the Enterprise D.

The Nebula class should have about the same internal volume as a Galaxy. The loss of the Galaxy neck is more than made up by the pod and the pylon holding up the pod. Nebulas has less surface area for shields so in theory it could have stronger shields by routing the same total amount of power as the Galaxy class.
Looking at the way the shields fall on the nebula when you played for and against it, both port and starboard shields took relatively minor damage compared to fore / aft and upper / lower. I think the compact design of the nebula works against it in this respect and the larger hull of the vor'cha allows it to soak up damage in different shield grids extending its durability.
Makes sense, since the Vor'cha was supposed to be the Klingon's answer to the Galaxy Class, and Nebula's his smaller brother. Though to the Nebula's credit, it wasn't a pushover either. The Vor'cha had to spend time wearing it down.

Everyone is underestimating the Vor’Cha. I always got the impression that in TNG, the E-D wasn’t quite up to taking one of them on and the Nebula class is slightly less advanced than a Galaxy class so this outcome actually makes perfect sense to me. A Vor’Cha even gave the Defiant a run for its money once on ds9. I think a Vor’Cha vs D’deridex would be a much more evenly matched fight, though I’d still favor the Vor’Cha to win.
I find it rather ridiculous how long it takes for the torpedos to reload! Definitely doesn't take that long in the movies or tv shows!!!! And the Nebula should be able to launch more than just 6 torpedos at once. Because that tactical pod has clearly more than just one launcher to the front!!!! Makes little sense to me. Nebula is basically a Galaxy-Class, only with a different layout. I would tack that up mostly to the AI being lousy. When the AI flew the nebula it was rarely positioned to fire photons. Since it would seem at least in this game that photons are king be them Quantum or not. That was the main difference, if the AI had prioritised getting off more photon bursts rather than defense it might have done considerably more damage. What is the ‘canonical’ look of the Nebula? The cgi model in Voyager has no impulse engines or the aft saucer phasers. Another thing the Neg'Var is the Klingon's state of the art top of the line balls to the wall warship. It's at least the Equivalent of a Galaxy. I'm surprised the Nebula won at all.
Best thing would be to compare damage taken by the player at the end of both battles. So the vorcha had no damage, but the nebula had a little damage, when he was done. So the answer is probably "The vorcha beats the nebula, but only just barely"
I gotta disagree badger. The ai didn't use the photons as I thought it would've. The ai could've done a better job in my opinion. It looked like it was only using aft
I don't believe that star fleet would launch a ship with less power than the Galaxy Class just doesn't make any real sense , remembering Nebulas came after the Galaxy Class , if any thing it would have improvements , now these ships have industrial transporters & replicators allowing them to replicate any & all torpedoes modified or un modified especially within the weapons pod this game should reflect that point .
I've put the Dauntless (the Galaxy class version in Bridge Commander Remastered 1.2) up against 3 K'Vorts. Took an absolute pounding, but I was able to take down all 3 K'Vorts. Think I had about 20% hull left by the end. Tough battle, unless you get lucky hitting one of the Klingon ships as it cloaks.
I’ll never understand why nebulas aren’t always at least a little stronger than a contemporary galaxy. Aren’t the only differences they lack of the galaxy neck and sometimes the addition of a weapons pod? Shouldn’t power production/reserves be the same? Also the shields would have a smaller profile so theoretically stronger. With that pod they aught to be able to launch more torpedos than a galaxy as well
I know it's unfair but it is kind of hard to respect the Vor'cha after Sisko and the Defiant made that one its B*tch when he saved the Cardassian council. I always wondered other then for entertainment how the Klingon could possibly keep up with the Federation technology. Granted I don't think the Federation makes their ships as tough as they could, which gets lots of people killed.
That program controlling the Nebula was garbage, this wasn't even close to a real test of what an actual battle would of been like when you exam the specs of both ships.
tbh both ships are kinda nerfed, Nebula should have more torps but vorcha more disruptors and torps also. Vorcha was a pure warship and was made to combat galaxy who even when had similar (or slightly lower firepower then nebula) had superior shields and slightly stronger overall.

Best thing would be to compare damage taken by the player at the end of both battles. So the vorcha had no damage, but the nebula had a little damage, when he was done. So the answer is probably "The vorcha beats the nebula, but only just barely"
They are to say that if you were to go for the bridge of Klion battle cruiser the neck of the battle cruiser would snap off
Vor’cha Class vs Jem hadar vessel ( idk there names ) or
Perhaps today is a good day to die vs Victor is life .

Nebula class 442.23 M Length,
Vor’cha class 481.32 M Length.
Thank You 😃🖖
I gotta disagree badger.
Speaking of "Yesterday's Enterprise", have you ever put the Enterprise D up against 3 K'vorts?
I've put the Dauntless (the Galaxy class version in Bridge Commander Remastered 1.2) up against 3 K'Vorts. Took an absolute pounding, but I was able to take down all 3 K'Vorts. Think I had about 20% hull left by the end. Tough battle, unless you get lucky hitting one of the Klingon ships as it cloaks.
What do people prefer.
The nebula or the vorcha?
Kahless is furious with these Klingons, for cloaking in the midst of battle. He will strip them of their honour, in Sto'vo'kor 🖖
With that pod they aught to be able to launch more torpedos than a galaxy as well
I totally agree with you. If anything, it's like a better designed Galaxy Class. Not as spread out. 🖖
Sigh, they are not "literally a sitting duck". They are figuratively a sitting duck.🪑 🦆
USE TRACTOR BEAM
USS Left Winger.
That program controlling the Nebula was garbage, this wasn't even close to a real test of what an actual battle would of been like when you exam the specs of both ships.
The game AI is clearly awful 😂
tbh both ships are kinda nerfed, Nebula should have more torps but vorcha more disruptors and torps also. Vorcha was a pure warship and was made to combat galaxy who even when had similar (or slightly lower firepower then nebula) had superior shields and slightly stronger overall.
