    Concrete trying to look like marble or granite has convinced me to tint the mix for a consistent color.

    Can this be used on natural stone? I'm buying a fireplace hearth that is a stone called Blue Jay from a quarry in AZ and would like it to be darker than it is.

    Awesome job. But how long do you wait until you neutralize the acid? How would you seal it if its for and outside or inside ?
    Thanks

      Our stains and tints are water based and neutralizing is not needed. We also carry indoor/outdoor sealers. Check out our full instructional video on our website to see a job from beginning to end. www.concretecountertopsolutions.com/articles/videos3

    If this is going to be in direct sunlight on an outdoor BBQ island, do I need to seal it?

      Yes, we would always recommend sealing any decorative concrete project. We have a few good sealer options for outdoors. I would take a look at our SiAcryl 14 - concretecountertopsolutions.com/collections/sealers-and-polish/products/z-siacryl-14-sealer

    We have colored concrete countertops that are sealed. One of the countertops is green and the other is black. Do you think it is possible to stain both of them gray? They don't have to match perfectly. Also, what would we use to remove the sealant?

    • @coreyangst4853
      @coreyangst4853 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ZCounterform1 I should have been clearer that the concrete is not stained. The color was added to the concrete (I think a powder) when they were made off-site. The guy had a vibrating table that settled the concrete and removed any bubbles. But there is a sealant on it and I can strip that off, but the concrete is colored all the way through (2.5" countertop) so there is no way to sand down to bare concrete. I am going to ask for a sample from the countertop guy and test it. He isn't sure it will work either. I'm happy to report back to you if you want the info.

    How long should you wait after pouring the concrete countertop before applying stain?

  • @scottkennedy1167

    So what's the final steps to get it to be shiny like in the final product since the stain drys very dull?

    • @alisonrafter1092

      If outdoors you can seal with a UV resistant sealer like our Siacryl 14 and top with our Counter Shine Polish for the high gloss look.

      Yes, it sure is as long as the concrete is poured and not a type of overlay.

    Did you have to acid etch the concrete before staining

    • @alisonrafter1092
      @alisonrafter1092 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can, but it isn't an easy process. You will have to do some deep sanding in order to remove any stain.
