After scouring for tutorials and reviews on the Behr Stain product (lacking info) your video single handily sold me on the Valspar stain. Project turned out perfect and nice idea with the glitter! Much appreciated!
not hard imo. just plan everything out and you will be fine.. clean area, get a good sprayer mine did clog up a few times and would drip from nozzle so have a rag handy to wipe up those drips if it happens and if you really like the stain look and not so solid look go light with the sprayer, move quick. remember you can always go back and add more to darken it but you can't remove it if you go to heavy the first time. test sprayer out on a peice of cardboard or something just to get an idea of the flow. good luck 👍
That turned out beautifully. Question: is the satin flammable after it dries. I know concrete paint can still be flammable after drying. I'm wondering because I would like to use this technique on the floor in the kitchen where my wood stove sits. The stove is on concrete pavers, but the entire kitchen floor is concrete. I would like this color you used. I had thought the only thing I could do would be to paint the floor. But I don't want to do anything that might make the surface of the floor flammable despite it being concrete.
Thank you! This is helpful to plan my project. I can't find anything on the Valspar website - shame on them! And you were right - that color when it was fresh was looking awfully pink on my computer - glad it turned browner for you :)
Looks great I think this is a project I want to under take this weekend. Do I need to use a sprayer to apply. I just want to do my front porch, can I apply with a roller ?
to get the stained look it's best to use the sprayer in a circular or random pattern If you use a roller or brush it will give a more solid paint look. Also go light you can you can always add more color/coats but you can't remove it
I got a new pour concrete and they put the wrong color in the mix. It came out brown, we wanted a gray. So now we're gonna have to stain it gray and I hope it will work out.
I'd go with a 2 part epoxy something that has a hardener/ activator I used this this kind in my garage and used a clear coat and it's holding up excellent
can I use a brush to apply the stain/sealer ? last year we did Stamped overlays with square design (two colors), I wan to change the color of alternating squares AND seal the whole area, so it has to be with a roller, can't spray as it will be selective applying of the stain, the sealer will be for the entire area, can use spray.
just go to ucoatit website you will see all product they have.... I rented a floor sander from home depot for concrete sanded the floor, cleaned and degresed it and applied the epoxy and clear as per instructions hope this helps

SAME HERE. BEHR DOESN'T HAVE ANYTHING AND I COULDN'T FIND VERY MANY VIDEOS.
Your video helped me decide I could fo this. Others made it out 5o be a major pain. Thanks!

Interesting video.... Adding a few photos really helps to show details the camera doesn't pick up...
Thank you. That was very helpful. I’m just about to have a patio poured and want to stain with color. This looks very doable. Your time is appreciated
glad you found it helpfull

not sure your best bet is to contact the manufacturer ask them

yea was scary for a second lol remember the more coats you put on the darker and more of a solid color it will look also
Looks good. I knew you could color concrete when it's poured, but i didn't know you could stain cured concrete
yea the acid stain I think looks better but the water-based is much easier to work with and can be found at the big box stores
Your video was very informative. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with this product. I’m going to try it
Glad you enjoyed it. Good luck prep is everything so keep that in mind before you apply stain. Just FYI mine still looks good holding up well

Great, work and video. What is the difference between acid stain and water stain?
water stain is way easier. but acid stain gives a better effect

Wow what a difference. Well done from Cyprus
@@antonios4926 thanks
did you clear the rocks with the sprayer?
@@cactusladysouth1000 yes
Love the glitter! Great idea!
Thanks
Looks good! Could you use that brand product to stain the brick of your house a different color?!
i think you would get a different result on colored brick or brick that is sealed already
Hey! great video! how is it hanging after almost a year? Did you have any problems with the stain bubbling or peeling?
no issues still looks good!
Looks amazing! And it was clever the glitter hack! What product did you use for cleaning along woth the pressure washer?
The sparkles look great especially on the rocks
yea I love it!
Great idea of staining v painting. Your rock work is very good.
@@bpsitrep Thanks!
I hope this lasts a while. It looks good and you made it sound doable.
yes very doable. so far so good no complaints
DO YOU NEED TO BUY A SPRAYER OR CAN THIS AFFECT BE DONE ANOTHER WAY?
We have a workshop/storage room. What would be the better flooring option? Stain or epoxy.
I'd go with a 2 part epoxy something that has a hardener/ activator I used this this kind in my garage and used a clear coat and it's holding up excellent
Seems that even spraying is important to avoid light and dark spots. I’d recommend using a graco sprayer vs a pump system
your correct all about the application better to spray light and record in spots if needed, go to heavy you lose the stain effect
But light an dark has a nicer look then all the same
@@jtcustomknives I agree 👍

if u use a brush or roller you will lose the stain effect it will look more solid color
Thank you@@AllThingsCool
Thanks for sharing. Looks great!
can you share a link for the epoxy used on your garage floor and steps taken please?
just go to ucoatit website you will see all product they have.... I rented a floor sander from home depot for concrete sanded the floor, cleaned and degresed it and applied the epoxy and clear as per instructions hope this helps
What brand of epoxy did you use for your garage
u coat it is the brand
@@AllThingsCool thank you
I would use a roller the second time and 2 coats plus sealant
the roller will give you a more uniform solid color look. I was going for a more light and dark stain look.
I LIKE THE LOOK AND THINK THAT MAYBE ADDING SOME GOLD TONES WOULD ENHANCE IT.
awesome job
thanks!
Hows it holding up ?
got through the first winter still looks good 👍
Is the clear slippery? I wanna do this around my pool
@joed1244 not at all the clear didn't dry as a hard shell you still feel the texture from the concrete
Can you add texture (sand) to stain?
yes
@@AllThingsCool Thanks.
WOULDN'T YOU HAVE A HARD TIME REMOVING SAND STAIN IF EVER YOU NEEDED TO USE REGULAR PAINT?
Would you recommend for a front driveway?
not sure how well.it would hold up to tire traffic from a vehicle 🤔
@@AllThingsCool fair point. I'm just looking for ideas to add a layer of protection and just extending the life of it.
❤ love it
Thankyou!
Turned out my guy👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks!
why didnt you just roll it?
@KellyDownham would diminish the stain effect, rolling would give a more uniform solid look which I wasn't going for
Love it great
thanks!
💯
Bad ass 66
thanks! (65) hard to tell from the front
Dont waste your money. This stuff is junk. Wont last more than a couple yrs. Ive had to repair quite a few jobs with this crap.
But doesn’t suggest any supplements 🙄
Suggestions?
Don't use valspar. It's junk
