    You do a good job videoing your paving project. Don’t know how you make money with all your equipment doing a small residential job but you have a good crew.

    We’re is the binder…..a few puddles there aswell

    • @capitalasphalt
      @capitalasphalt  ปีที่แล้ว

      In Canada we do not run Binder then Top coat. Residential painting is most commonly done with one left of ash fault. We pave 2 1/2 inches of residential Asphalt for projects. I would, however, love if it was an industry standard in Ottawa Canada to pave with a binder coat and a topcoat/ two lifts of asphalt. Clients in this area simply do not see the value in paying for two lifts of Asphalt. It’s extremely uncommon here.
      As for the puddles, I assure you this driveway, has no water issues and has zero puddling on the final result. We had lots of slope to work with.
      Thanks for watching

    Good job but the homeowner should of paid for a plastic culvert to be installed so it doesn’t rot out in a few years and have to tear out that beautiful pavement job

    • @capitalasphalt
      @capitalasphalt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly that isn’t a bad idea. We did check the culvert at the time of doing this project and it was in perfect condition, but again. Nothing wrong with your idea at all. Something I’ll think about moving forward.
      Thanks for taking the time to watch.

    Man I don’t understand why these little companies never run binder first then top coat. That’s not gonna last long

    • @capitalasphalt
      @capitalasphalt  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment. I think I answered this question in another video. We have been paving for 29 years here in Ottawa, Canada.
      It’s extremely common to run 1 lift of asphalt on all residential projects. We pave at 2.5”. However, when we do commercial projects, we pay them in to 2 inch lift of asphalt. It’s an industry standard around here to pave driveways/residential properties in one left, and it’s a preference of mine to do all commercial work in two lift. I do, however, I agree with you and wish that everything we did was in fact two lifts of asphalt, or as commonly said in the states, binder, coat and topcoat.
      I believe the reason it’s not an industry standard, and in fact not at all common in Canada, or at least, in this part of Canada, is just simply due to the cost factor of having an additional lift of Asphalt.
