I like your comment on kids growing up who were so into construction equipment, and watch guys like you all day fixing roads. It's true most kids grow up and don't want to know anything about the hard work and long days involved with it. I was one of those kids who were so into this stuff, but in my house there was no easy ride. My father drove a flatbed tractor trailer for 33 years up and down interstate 95 and on his days off him and his brother doing side jobs all the time. There was no sitting around my house on weekends for the boys we were out on job site painting houses or laying carpet all day. That's the way it was and you learned about hard work and make a living, and maybe you grew up a little faster then some of your friends. I look back now and realize it was a learning about life and maybe a little about bonding with your dad and family. We're not any worse off for it. Great video guys, well done !
been paving for our family business my whole adult life. It's a pleasure to watch this company at work. Great knowledge, great equipment, great crew attitude. I'm actually envious! Nice work boys!!
When I was 9 in 1987 the city had the 5 lane street in front of our condos completely redone from the road base up. I spent most of my summer following them and watching the whole process. It was about 2 miles. I've been looking for a channel that really showed the details. This video reminded me of that summer. Thanks.
Right On , @Jeff Stewart ! Just like what I mentioned in my post. As I was the only kid back then on my block that would spend hours just observing the "Pine Street " complete removal of curb gutters, drainage, base & utilities and Relay the entire thing brand new ! Which that was just one of scores of others I'd watch & even participate in as a young lad or even teen. Long before folks would run you off cause of the fear of yuh getting hurt & lawyers suing the sh!t out of you. Sadly it's something you pretty much never see anymore as tablets/cell phones have replaced most children's sense of adventure & tangible proof of something you worked on or were apart of amongst a group of like minded individuals. It's even a rarity for Contractoring Dads to have that constantly fascinated kid that insists on riding along whenever the chance allows to do all that masculine sh!t. Unfortunately the kid doesn't have any interest until he's 30 , strung out & ruined a good chunk of his life & now he's going to work with dad cause he's virtually unemployable!
At 11:30 Dude working the Grade & Left Extension hit the nail on the head ! Throughout my entire adolescents be it outside my school's window or up close & in person neighborhood construction from Home repair to municipal utility work, I was all over it ! Couldn't get enough of it & that was just watching them work an occasionally they'd let me trowel a little create, hammer a nail, throw a scoop or ride along on the equipment! All this occurring in the 80's & Early 90's just before All the Lawyers & Insurance companies took over running our country. It's these experiences ( especially in single parent homes) that all young men need, I don't think it's so much the wanting a father figure as it is the fascination with labor intensive work where blood, sweat, tears & determination allow you to stand back ( once the job is done) & admire your craft. I did that , we did that , & I get paid to do it. It's a tragedy that so many kids today have zero interest in all that's going on around them. Noticeably the only thing that has changed is the electronics & countless hours spent absorbing nothingness. Useless mega brand nonsense that far too many parents often shove into the faces of these unsuspecting children who are hardly to blame as since early childhood the tablet or cell phone has been the parents go to device to entertain the there child. Then as time goes by , they are left wondering why the child, adolescent, teen, etc lacks interest in almost everything, from peer relationships to self respect & or even emotional, intellectual, growth! Please , those of us who work in such fields & or notice these ridiculous trends consuming our family's ( to stranger) kids lives , do your part the moment any child is taking notice of your craft ! Even more so , if it's a teen who has taken the time to check out what Y'all got going on " Offer him a job " . Even if it's 10 bucks an hour after school or summer breaks. We know you can't have him on State,Fed jobs etc. But a shop boy or Helper is by far the greatest reward any of us that ourselves were once fascinated by it all & had that one out going guy not given us the opportunity to cut Crete, run the loader or man a tool , whose to say where we of ended up ! Love The Vids , from a Jack Of Most Trades & Master Of None , God Bless & Stay Safe !!!!
Let’s get some more ride arounds with your pops. The non sugar coating real useful talk is refreshing. Maybe a story time on what got him in the business and how and what ye started with.
Not just the most beautiful company equipment, but the knowledge of the owner is lifelong. And who wouldn't work for a man who gets in the trenches with his men.
When I see your rigs, it makes me happy. I drove a Fld flattop, 300" wb, 425 cat, super 10, drop or flatbed, otr. The re were damn few times you would catch me riding dirty. A year after I had left, I was talking to my old boss in the yard, looking at my old truck, totally filthy. Boss says, you put a pressure washer on that truck and the wheels still shine. Of course, drivers after me didn't polish and wax like me. California brush for quick touch ups roo. Edit. I wrote my comment before watching the video. When it started, I started laughing. My boss liked my attention to detail. I was his first truck to run west of the Mississippi and first to California. He kept a picture of me on I 5, at a pull off with the valley behind me on the wall behind his desk.
It's always enjoyable watching men, who know their stuff, doing their job well, all the while making it look easy. THAT is some major skill level! And that comment: "Sweat - the secret to success" is utterly priceless. Git some, boys! Smooth rollin'... and thanks for doing it right, even when no-one is looking.
From Ontario, Canada, I really enjoy your videos, and contents......great bunch of guys, nice to see a hard working crew that all work well together.>>>Brings back a lot of memories for me, as I was working for a big paving company as a summer job, which help me pay for my college.>>>The equipment back then was primitive, to what is available today.......laughtable!
Great content as always...I love these types of videos, just the cameras set up and watching you guys do what you do best and some candid commentary here and there. You asked for suggestions the one I came up with as maybe a sit down or something and have your dad talk about the complete history of the company. How you guys got started and ended up where you are today. Thanks again for the content hope you keep it coming.
Big IG fan, just found your youtube. I work for a bigger township in PA. We do a lot of our own blacktop work, and I am looking forward to learning from you guys and taking that knowledge back to the crew! thanks for sharing!
Lmao Victory outdoor and Ken white construction some of my favorite channels cool to see them get shouted out, keep up the amazing work. You got the recipe for a huge channel, if it makes sense it makes dollars.
Just found your TH-cam video and its awesome. Love the content and the finished road looks great. Super satisfying to watch a group of guys loving what they do and take pride in the equipment and the communities they serve.
I've been watching your videos for a couple months now. They're awesome!! I LOVE those hats!!! If I wasn't on disability, I'd love to buy one. Hell I used to drive dump Trucks of all shapes & sizes. Then I fell to the frozen ground coming over the top of the box after spraying down with antifreeze as we were stockpiling sand & Gravel products for the next season. My boot slipped off those little steps & splat..... Right on my back. Anyway..... Have a good one. See you in the next video!! 😊
I work for a Huge Paving Company in Maine called Northeast Paving I love my job dumping trucks, raking blacktop, etc we Mill driveway and side street aprons with a Skidsteer that has a milling attachment works great
Love your videos. Awsome equipment. My black 8616 is coming in November cant wait! I operate family owned asphalt co. as well love to see new things. Yall are awsome keep up the asphalt.
I like how u explained the transition of the aprons meeting the road on how much they are off on grade . Because everything is paved at different times so you have different grades. When you do the drains use a mudflap from a dump truck. Put a little diesel in it pave right over it, shovel it off done 👍. You guys have beautiful equipment !! Keep it up !!
Just stumbled on your channel and I'm hooked. I'd like to see a video about the history of your family owned company through present, how much you've grown, what equipment you started with, etc. Great content.
Hmm! OK yes this video takes me back 30yrs +. Worked the wing on a paver when we paved a parking lot which was cool because it was a 🥶 morning! I still enjoy watching construction equipment videos far past being a kid! #keeponpaving 😉👌
worked in danbury for 6 months and when i was dumping material at Carol construction always saw you guys at Tilcon beautiful trucks. idk if this is true but someone told me that you guys have you’re own asphalt plant? is that true love the channel
Wicked videos. Looks like you guys got a solid crew 👌. Ran a Mauldin paver for a season doing driveways. Talk about goat paths. Would be interesting to see some content on breakdown running repairs in the field. Or fleet maintenance in the off season.
Watching here in central washington you guys do stuff about the same as we do here but we use a lot of 7&8 axle truck and pups really like your new pothole driveway paving truck makher black and dont look back lol
I just found your yt channel tonight and have enjoyed all your videos, awesome job with the content as well some serious kick ass equipment, just keep on keeping on Love your channel, i have subscribed so keep them coming. 💪👍
Many adults nowadays forget their younger days, growing up playing and doing cotructive stick houses and hand padding dirt roads. Pushing that tonka truck on to that diy dirt road or sand box castle was so satisfying. So how do you get into the asphault paving business?, i was always interested in it..
Do a video on asphalt from the start at the hot mix plant to the road ran through the paver. Explain about the additives in the asphalt and different grades. It’s crazy how a cup full of silicone mixed into a load of liquid asphalt can change the finshed product
Yeah G’day from Australia. Absolutely love the videos, and it would be really cool if yuz did a video based sround maintenance of all the gear and just how yuz keep track of all the maintenance given the amount of machines you have..!! Stay safe guys.!! 💙

Ideas for y’all. Not every subscriber knows about all the machines nor how they operate in detail . I myself do , but it is neet to watch “how machines operate “ some of us are old kids still wishing we could play in that sandbox 1 more time !
Hey you guys ever pave in Central Pennsylvania? I live about 40 mins outside State collage Home of Penn State!!!! I own a small asphalt paving an sealcoating company plus I do Decorative concrete work. Anyways would be awesome to come work for you guys a day or two to maybe, free laborer baby!!! Lol but I could learn alot!
Im getting estimates on asphalt some have larger rock base with fine topcoat. Some just have 1 layer my driveway has numerous cracks should old asphalt be taken up ?…. Are some ytpes of asphalt better than others?? Would like your input
Depends on the conditions of the existing asphalt. Usually on a driveway it’s best to remove existing asphalt. Fine grade and compact existing gravel base. If needed add some fine process gravel. For a smooth grade and help strengthen the base. Then pave with 2.5” to 3” of class 2 asphalt or asphalt with 3/8 stone in it. If you are running heavy trucks on it often it wouldn’t be a bad idea to use 1/2” asphalt. In CT we call it class 1. Class 2 is prettier to the eyes but class 1 is stronger. The larger the stone the stronger the asphalt. If you install class 1 asphalt you can add a seal coating at year 2 which will give you that smooth class 2 look. Hope this helps!
You take the low tonnage goat paths with the high tonnage gun runs through the subdivision developments! As long as it rolls out you are good. Looks like you have a great team and some good equipment! I would have hopped on the paving band wagon when I was young, but I was too busy pouring concrete and digging up Superfund sites!
You guys should do a full fleet tour. And cover any additions to the new shop you guys built last year. Can't wait to see you guys at con/agg in March
Yes do a full tour of all trucks and machines
Yes would like a full tour of pickups and how they are set up and outfitted.

Me and my 6-year-old grandson and I loved your video. Thank you
so much respect for owners that are in the trenches with the boys working when they clearly dont have to be

That whagwan caught me off guard lol
how is that cold seam getting heated?
Man, TOP end equipment
